I couldn’t imagine a better place to stay in the Loire for a family of 4. The house is a perfect mix historic but with modern updates. Very comfortable and well appointed. The design decisions were thoughtfully made. Beautiful windows and doors and amazing views. Claude and Francine were wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome. It was the highlight of our trip to France.
We had a lovely greeting by the hosts when we arrived at this beautifully restored house. They personally showed us around, and made sure we felt at home before leaving us. They live in the house nearby but this was not a problem as they left us to it, and we were able to roam freely and explore the grounds. They were splendid hosts! We were very fortunate with the weather and so got to fully appreciate the garden and loungers, eating outside and relaxing. There is a great supermarket 3km away which served all our needs. 5 mins walk there is also a small village store, and a restaurant/bar which served great food which was very good value. There is a hotel within walking distance which also has a restaurant but we chose not to go there as ate in most of the time. The house itself has everything you need, and is decorated to a very high standard. 3 comfortable large beds, great bathrooms, plenty of reading material and wifi.
An immaculate property, in a beautiful region. Francine and Claude are impeccable hosts, welcoming and incredibly helpful. Countless wonderful locations to visit and enjoy.

This is a brilliant property. It’s an old vineyard house, stylishly converted and very well equipped. The description and photos are accurate. There is a lovely garden in front with chairs and loungers, which sadly we were unable to use because of the persistent rain. Claude and Francine are the best of hosts, welcoming, friendly but discreet.
All in all, a great choice for a week in the Loire Valley
This lovely property completely lived up to expectation and was even bigger upstairs than the photos suggest. We really enjoyed the garden and view (shady when needed) especially the birds, including redstarts and barn owls. The village is very handy and we made good use of the grocery shop (fresh bread) and the cafe which was excellent value for morning coffee or traditional lunch. Many places to visit nearby whether by bike or in the car, however we were quite content to enjoy the surroundings from the garden. Thank you.
Claude and Francine were wonderful hosts, making us feel very welcome and being helpful. The house is beautiful, well furnished and comfortable. It is even better than the photos suggest. We stayed during a very hot week and the house stayed wonderfully cool throughout.
The property was ideal for our trip - bigger than it appears on the photos, spotlessly clean and well equipped. The garden was a delightful place to relax and our hosts were friendly and welcoming but not at all intrusive.
The location of the property was excellent with two restaurants and a small shop within walking distance.
There is also lots to discover in the wider area - gardens, chateaux, markets and restaurants....

Beautifully restored house with high-end equipment
We spent a wonderful week in Clos de Venise. The house is perfectly located for exploring the region. The surrounding of the house with its garden and the vineyard is exceptional! The owners are very welcoming but not intrusive at all.
If it had been possible to stay longer, then this would have been great. It is the best holiday location ever. The place was impeccable, very friendly welcome, accessible yet respectful of our privacy. Fresh vegetables from the garden, even suggestions for recipes and it was just delightful! And great views from the house and garden unto the valley!
Francine and Claude were perfect hosts, even providing toys for our 3 and 5 year old.
They knew we would be hosting a family dinner for the holidays with family who lived nearby and provided us with all the necessary tableware. They even decorated! The property is gorgeous and a short ride from Tours. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay, it was above and beyond expectations!
A beautiful home in a great location, made even better by the hosts who did everything they could to welcome us, including going out of their way to fit stair gates for our toddlers. The pictures don’t do the place justice as little things like top quality appliances really set it apart from other properties we have stayed at.
Everything was fabulous! Great, friendly and welcoming hosts, and perfect setting for a relaxing week in the Loire. Thank you so much Claude and Francine for welcoming us to your home so generously. Great location for exploring the Loire valley, main challenge was pulling ourselves away from the patio view every morning. House was perfect, with everything you could possibly need!
Thank you!

Absolutely fantastic holiday!
We stayed here in the beginning July and at arrival were greeted by the very frendly hosts. As we entered the accomodation we noticed that the house is even more beautiful than expected from the pictures: spatious, beutifully renovated and furnished.
We enjoyed every morning breakfast outside on the terras and every evening also with some wine and snacks. What a vacation!
We will definitely return...
Our stay was more than we could ever imagine! We appreciated everything from Claude and Francine’s warm hospitality to staying in a newly renovated cottage situated in a vineyard (yes, just like in a movie!), and central to all the attractions you visit the region for. The clarity of communication during reservation, prior to our arrival and throughout our stay was exemplary. We felt we visited a family, and are planning to return soon. Many thanks!
We had a short (too short) one week stay in this property. The setting is beautiful, peaceful and very relaxing, in the middle of the vineyards. The property was very tastefully restored, and the inside is mixing touches of the past and many contemporary upgrades. Yet, it is just minutes away from the charming flare of Amboise, and from the bustling Tours. Well located if one wants to go to Chambord (1 hour drive), or Chenonceau (30 minutes). The owners are very friendly, and ready to help and provide some recommendations. We had a lovely time. Definitely a place to come back to.
Absolutely perfect in every way! Where to begin.... inside the pink rose wrapped house was everything you could ask for, comfortable and cool, much bigger than the photos suggest. The sunfilled garden was beautiful, plenty of furniture from which to enjoy the magical views and relax after cycling. Claude and Francine are perfect hosts..... thank you again!!

A beautiful house, superb setting, charming hosts
Le Clos de Venise is an exceptional property. The house is beautiful, extremely comfortable and equipped with everything you might need for your stay. We enjoyed every minute of our week there. The setting in the vineyard is superb. Note that the resident sheep is very friendly and likes to have a pat when you pass by on your way to buy the breakfast croissants at the little village epicerie. Claude and Francine are wonderful hosts – the nicest couple, friendly, informative about the region and its history, interesting to have a chat with and extremely generous with their wonderful wine, fresh produce from their vegetable garden and home-made jam, all greatly appreciated and devoured. Thank you to you both. We will look back on our stay at Le Clos de Venise with very warm memories and we hope to return in the not too distant future.
Claude and Francine, the owners of Clos de Venise, have done an outstanding job restoring this lovely property situated above the village of Noizay, conveniently located in the heart of the Loire Valley. The property includes a vineyard that produces an outstanding Bourgueil. The farm below has an extensive vegetable garden and a field with friendly animals.
The guest house is done in a comfortable contemporary style with high ceilings and lots of light. Doors open onto a lovely patio with a panoramic view.
Our hosts could not have be more hospitable and helpful.
Their loving care and tasteful touches are found all around.
C’est magnifique!

Ten stars - the best.
We have rented apartments in Paris and other places; but Le Clos De Venise
was the best we have ever experienced. I can not begin to say enough
good things about Le Clos De Venise - and its charming, friendly and
caring owners - Claude and Francine.
There were three of us (adults) and we stayed for just a month in the summer of 2014.
Our regret is that we did not stay for two months - or three.
Almost every day we visited chateau’s - ate déjeuner with wine out on the lawn in front of the house - then drove into Amboise for dinner. Life does not get better than this.
Thank you so much, Claude & Francine - for our best vacation in years.

As a family we stayed at the end of August. The property was easily the best rental cottage we have ever stayed in. Very roomy and fixtures and fittings are of the highest quality. We loved the outdoor electric grill plate on the terrace which we have never used before, so much cleaner than a barbecue. As we have a daughter who is slightly autistic and also has Type 1 diabetes we always try and find good quality accommodation as we tend to spend more time there than other families might do as we often have to limit our days out if our daughter gets tired and this property fitted our needs perfectly.
Our hosts Francine and Claude were marvellous and very helpful to me when on day 1 I had an issue with my car and thought I needed a garage. Claude accompanied me to the garage and was able to communicate with them for me as my French is non-existent !! I was very thankful for the time they gave to help me. They both speak quite good English so we were able to converse perfectly fine.
If I have one suggestion for those staying here who are English speaking, there is a satellite TV box but it only has a couple of English speaking news channels available, BBC World and Sky News International. The TV is not a smart TV so as a suggestion for future travellers it might be wise to bring a dongle such as a Firestick or Chromecast that you may be able to access your streaming services via the good wi-fi at the premises. We had DVD's we brought so used the DVD Player for entertainment.
Fantastic property in a great location for exploring the beautiful Loire Valley
The six of us were over the moon with Le Clos de Venise. From the moment we arrived at this stunning gîte on the estate of Claude & Francine Bobet’s vineyard we loved every minute. Our hosts were there on our arrival to give us a comprehensive tour of the property which exceeded our expectations. It is even more beautiful than the photos show. The interior has been very tastefully furnished with everything we could possibly need in the fully equipped kitchen and lounge area. The bedrooms were great and each had their own shower room. One is located downstairs, where there is also a separate toilet, and the other two upstairs, with a toilet on the landing to be shared. Our only tiny criticism is that it would have been nice to have had a toilet for each bedroom.
The walls of the gîte are of very thick stone, so even in the very hot weather we experienced during our stay, we were lovely and cool inside. The tranquil location made for a very relaxing and restful week and we all slept very well. The village of Noizay is an ideal centre from which to visit the local town of Amboise and the chateau there. We also visited several other chateaux within easy reach of Noizay plus the larger city of Tours, There is a small village shop just minutes away for fresh bread and croissants and also a Super U around 3 Kms down the road for a larger shop and fuel. Claude & Francine were so kind and a very hospitable couple. They were always on hand if we needed anything and even presented us with some wine on our arrival. We would not hesitate to recommend Le Clos de Venise and we would certainly return. Thank you Claude and Francine.

Elegant and charming Villa in the Loire Valley
We recently spent a week at Le Clos de Venise. We arrived late in the evening after getting lost on back country roads with the advice of our GPS. Francine was immediately available on the phone to help us with our directions and Claude was waiting for us on the street to guide us to the villa. The villa itself is magnificent, newly renovated with modern decor in an old stone house built into the side of the stone cliff. The house is fully appointed with everything you would need to cook a fantastic meal after going to one of the many local markets. The bedrooms are all large and beautifully decorated. It was cold and rainy for much of our time at the villa, but we spent our evenings in front of the fireplace recounting our days of visiting the many chateaux that make the Loire valley so famous. Our hosts were exceptional, they invited us over to their home (the main villa) one evening where they had a roaring fire. We enjoyed some cheese and wine made from the grapes in their vineyard. I cannot say enough about how generous, kind and welcoming Claude and Francine are as hosts.
Access to the main Chateaux of the region is very easy from the villa. The town of Amboise is about 15 minutes away and in this town you will find a large market, lots of great restaurants, little shops and a Chateaux. In the Village of Noisay there is a small food store which carries fresh fruit, fresh bread and pastries and a good selection of other supplies you might need. We dined at the Chateau de Noisay, a relais restaurant, but frankly, I found the food very expensive and quite disappointing. There are better restaurants in Amboise. I would highly recommend this villa. We cannot wait to return. Thank you so much Claude and Francine.
There aren’t enough superlatives to adequately describe Le Clos de Venise. As inspiring as the photographs are, they cannot convey the warmth and welcome of the owners, Claude and Francine and their caretakers, Michèle and Jacky. It’s not surprising that all of the reviews offer 5 stars. They cover most everything one can say about this exceptional property and our party of five (4 adults and a toddler) echo all the glowing comments.
It's the little things that made our stay so memorable.
• Watching the delight on our granddaughter’s face as she ran out to greet the sheep in the gardens every day.
• Walking the acres of vineyards and gardens and pathways so quintessentially French.
• Hiking, running, and bike-riding through endless vineyards and beautiful roads winding through surrounding towns.
• Appreciating the splendor of the trellised roses as they burst into bloom during our two-week stay.
• Enjoying dinners on the patio with our family while being serenaded by cuckoo birds.
• Learning how to queue up for morning baguettes at L’Epicerie.
• Buying far too many olives at the Friday and Sunday farmer’s markets in Amboise.
• Appreciating the bottle of Domaine de la Taille Aux Loups Vin de France “Venise” left for us so much as to immediately head to Montlouis-Sur-Loire for a tasting and a case of their offerings.
• Spending time with Francine and Claude and Michèle and Jacky over some wine and hors d'oeuvres and a roaring fire while seeing pictures of the before and after of the guest house and marveling at what a spectacular transformation it had undergone.
All of the joys and activities we were so privileged to experience were enhanced so perfectly by our home in France. Clos de Venise brought charm and enchantment, peace, and a sense of romance to our cherished two weeks in France. Thank you Claude and Francine for sharing your home with us.
