The house is perfect for a family. Well stocked and very serene/quiet location. The property itself is very unique - sprawling with lots of woods and trails, as well as the pool and lake. We will definitely be back.
This property was more beautiful than expected. It is a gem tucked away in the mountains of West Virginia. We will be back in the future to enjoy the property.

I'm glad that my guests loved their stay and they are welcome back anytime.

The private land and lake make this property so unique. If you have a camping mindset then the little house with feel like me than enough. The buildings could all use some refreshing but the atmosphere and amenities on the land more than make up for it. We would stay here again!
Everything was excellent. The property is beautiful and does not disappoint. The house is very large with a stocked kitchen and plenty of towels in the bathroom. The pool and lake area are beyond compare. The whole family enjoyed fishing, boating, and swimming. Lots of pool floaties and toys were available. Mark was very responsive to all questions. We will be back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property including the pool and house were amazing. Spent most of the day down by the lake enjoying the pool, hot tub and lake along with the amenities provided by the owners. Enjoyed the remote location and privacy! We will be back-

Our guests were excellent house guests and treated our home as if were there own. We appreciate them and hope that they return soon.
We had a great time. The property is amazing, absolutely beautiful, private and peaceful. We will certainly be back. The contrast of the cold, winter air and the hot tub and sauna were perfect.
Lovely location. Spent our time on the lake in the boats and fishing. The only negative was the beds which are very low to the ground - they could use some updates and a box spring.

Fabulous
Beautiful and well equipped house. Incredible views. Just a short walk over to the lake, pool, hot tub and sauna. (Fun even in the winter!) Wonderful and responsive owner and caretakers. I recommend this property wholeheartedly.

Thank you for the kind words. I'm happy you enjoyed your stay. Come back anytime!
Our stay had many benefits for the whole family. We normally go to the beach, but the gorgeous house hidden in the woods was just as fun. The walk or bike ride from the house to the lake provides plenty of exercise but a car may be necessary if you are bringing large or delicate objects down from the house. The house was very roomy and it was relaxing to be able to play in the infinity pool, hot tub, and lake all day and then come back to rest at the end of the day. GORGEOUS VIEWS!!
This was the best family getaway. It has something for everyone to enjoy. We used the kayaks and canoe daily along with the sauna, hot tub, and pool. We drove over to the pool house daily and would have lunch along with dinner. We caught bluegill, crappie and tons of bass fish. There is plenty of towels and having washer/dryer on site made it so easy to always have clean towels the following day. It was so much fun and hope to return next year!
We've stayed at many VRBO's and this was the best! The lake and pool area is unreal. The house is awesome as well. Great beds, kitchen supplies, clean bathrooms, etc. Mark the caretaker was super nice as were the other workers on the property. It is a good drive from much of anything, but Lewisburg about 28 minutes has a bunch of great restaurants and things to do. We stopped at Kroger in Lewisburg and got most of what we needed to cook for the week The gorge is about an hour but is worth the trip. Lost Caverns is definitely worth a visit as well. Would definitely stay here again!
Had an amazing time at the lake house. Whilst there was a slight mix up with booking, Rick was quick to rectify and actually just ended up with me extending my time out in WV so all good! The property is extremely clean and well stocked, with amazing views once you get out to the pool house, which is circa 10 minute walk away. I loved the fact the pool house also had a full kitchen so I did cook a pizza with a cheeky glass of wine (or two!) on the last night. This is, easily, a five star property and having 200 acres to yourself is pretty special. I don’t really have any development points other than the pool was drained when I was there (not that I was planning to use it in October!) and I couldn’t find any canoes / kayaks to use but that’s probably down to me for not messaging the host to arrange. Bottom line - book it. You won’t be disappointed!
We visited for the week for our second time in 2 years. Again, expectations were met and exceeded! Everything was clean and wonderful from the start. We spent most of each day at the lake and pool enjoying the beautiful surroundings and things to do. The only people we encountered on property were the maintenance guys who were exceptionally nice and gave us descriptions and info about the property. 6 adults, 11 year old, 3 year old and infant.
We left the property just twice. Once spending the day in near by Lewisburg, which is a great little town to explore. We recommend sitting outside at the Humble Tomato. Then another day we explored the New River Gorge, about 45 minutes away. We hiked and then went Ace Resort water park, inflatables on the water, for the 2nd time as well and it was great again.
We love this property and will definitely be back in the future! Highly recommended!
We stayed a long weekend with two adults and three teen boys. Our days consisted of early morning tea from the kettle, exploration on the trails, board games, naps, painting, and time at the lake enjoying the water and fall color. The aesthetic of every element is perfect. Even the kids commented on the way the infinity edge pool seems to become one with the lake. We boated. We danced to music on the home speakers. We said “open sesame” at each entry and exit of the gate. :) The town of Lewisburg was fine, but for me, I would prep meals in advance for reheat and just plan to stay on the property. We did bring discs for disc golf and yoga mats. Both would be worthwhile to bring along! 4 days was not enough! I did not want to come home, and I will always cherish this time and place.
This was by far one of my favorite family vacations. The house was very clean and the property was very well maintained. Mark was a pleasure to meet and so was Scott.
There was something for everyone and we kept busy. We built sand castles and sand animals. Went hiking, biking, fishing. swimming and kayaking on the property. This was a perfect place to also work on a few merit badges towards my son’s Eagle Scout. The bird watching merit badge was fun for everyone we saw a Kingfisher, 2 Bald Eagles and 2 Golden Eagles while Kayaking. We also saw a mother Robin taking care of her babies and watched them grow up and leave their nest. We also worked on my my sons kayak, nature and canoe merit badges. We felt safe on the lake teaching both our boys what to do if it flips as we had amazing visibility through the clear water and could easily teach them in the shallow part of the lake. Our dog also had an amazing time on the paddle boards and kayaks too.
There was a lot to do in the surrounding area as well. We went horseback riding, white water rafting, visited the caverns and completed a self guided tour of Lewisburg. We also found a few geocaches in the area for that merit badge as well.
We had an amazing time and enjoyed the family time without all the electronics. We only watched one movie while we were there, The Great Outdoors. Unfortunately we didn’t see any bald bears but there were several deer.
The pictures are great but this is really something you have to see in person it is just so beautiful. Thanks for sharing your home!
We have stayed in several great short term rentals, but this really takes it to another level. Beautiful area, amazing lake and pool, great fishing, everything perfect.
The house itself is great. We had 6 adults, 9 and 2 year old kids. Plenty of space. Great firepit for our evening fires. Cooked dinners each nice. Great space!
Pool/ Lake / Pool House
Often times the pictures are better than what you actually find upon arrival. Not the case here. The infinity Pool is beautiful! This was our main spot each day. Hottub was perfect as well. Full kitchen at the pool was awesome for food and snack each day. The lake is fantastic! Beautiful! Nice canoe and kayaks that we took out each day. However the fishing was the best we have ever seen. Over 250 Bass over the course of our week!!! Unbelievable!!! It was awesome!!
We ventured into Lewisburg a couple of times which is about 20ish minutes. It has everything you need. Greenbrier trail is awesome for a run or bike ride. We also went the other direction to the new river gorge in about 50 minutes.
I highly recommend this property for anyone looking to get away from everything and enjoy the beautiful land and facilities. We hope to return in the future.
Our family (toddler, two dogs) had a great time at Dawson Lake--everything was as advertised. The pool, sauna, and hot tub area are fantastic for kids. And views of the lake are scenic/calming. Additionally, there was plenty to do within a 30-60 minute drive. We went various places to hike around the New River, enjoyed charming Lewisburg on multiple occasions, and spent time in Fayetteville as well.
