About this property
Charming SUITE, in Villa with ParK.
The villa, which is located in the Suite, is located within a park of 5 000 m. q. surrounded by massive walls. This ensures peace and quiet, while residing in a bustling city district, but also plenty of parking. The suite has a private entrance.
The Janiculum hill, from whose terrace you can enjoy a breathtaking view, and the dome of St. Peter's Basilica, are in close proximity. At 50 meters from the entrance gate, also it stops the fast tram leading to Piazza Venezia, in the center, passing through the historic Trastevere neighborhood, very appreciated for the many typical restaurants, where to drink, eat and listen to music.

Very good
We were immediately attracted by he first words of the description "Independent apartment in villa with park".
It was indeed a nice villa, close to the large park, in a private garden bordering with a convent. The listing is very accurate, the apartment is ideal for two: comfortable, very private and well equipped. Street car # 8 runs every few minutes to Piazza Venezia (25 min. drive). Most of all the owners, Kerstin and Marco, were outstanding. They picked us up at the airport for a nominal fee, took us to the grocery store for the first shopping and to the tabacchi to purchase the right transit card for a week and simply helped us to find our footing in no time and with a truly Roman charm. They were discreet but available when we needed them. Kerstin even drove us to the Vatican, as they apparently normally do for their guests. In short, we felt well cared for and it was nice to leave the crowds in the centro historico and go back to the peace among orange and pine trees. We totally recommend this place and we send a big thank you to Kerstin, Marco and their boys (who even helped with the camera problem) for their care and hospitality.

Fabulous host, comfortable accommodation within close proximity to excellent public transport. Local market providing fresh veggies, meat and fish an added bonus, and plenty of options for a good coffee and corneto to start the day. If your looking for a safe, clean, friendly environment to base yourself this place should not be overlooked.
Kristin was a delightful personality who was very helpful offering great suggestions. We were surprised by the Rome tax of 3.50 per person, per day and felt it should have been mentioned in the cost.
I loved staying at this property.
Communication prior to my arrival was very good and the property easy to find.
On arrival Marco showed me everything, explaining it all.
The photos of the property are a true reflection of it. It had everything I needed including a kettle to use on the gas- the sort of thing us Brits love. The oven was easy to use, there was a computer though I had my own laptop and speeds were good and I didn't lose my connection once. The washing machine was brilliant- just hung my clothes to dry after and they didn't need ironing! Everything listed was there and more on top of that. I should also add that there was loads of storage space!
I slept well every night with no problems from outside or from the heat due to the ceiling fan cooling it down. There was also air con which I didn't need to use.
I had a hire car as I had 2 more weeks in Italy but I only used it once to drive to Villa D'Este. There is a tram (8) and a whole lot of buses from either end of the road from the property that go all over Rome. I used a free app to find my way around and it was so easy! Transport tickets can be bought at the tram stop. At the end of the day it was always a pleasure to return to the property and relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city and look out over the nearby convent gardens and the trees surrounding the property in relative quietness. The views from the property were fabulous.
I spoke to Kerstin and Marco a couple of times, Marco has some funny stories to tell. Both spoke very good English and seemed a genuine, honest, lovely couple . I felt that they want the best for their guests, never intruded yet emphasised that if I wanted anything all I had to do was call them on the internal phone system.
I was in good hands, the car and all my property was safe as the home is all enclosed.
I stayed in the suite and I'd recommend it for any single person or couple, with or without a car. They can also rent out other parts of the property for families etc.
When I return to Rome this will be top of my list for somewhere to stay, it felt like my home for the week.

The Owners Deserve 10 Stars ********** I can't wait to go back and stay longer!!!!
I rented this place for 31, days(Oct 30-Nov. 2017) . Kerstin and Marco are the best husband and wife team/owners; they displayed high standards of care for their renters; issues that arrived were dealt with immediately except two, the english speaking TV channel and the oven not working, but was not a deal breaker. This place was breathtaking, majestic, comfortable, sparkling and private; as well as beautiful and ingenious. I can go on and on about the beautification of this place; you have the entire top floor; absolutely fantastic apartment with panoramic views from the huge rooftop terrace. Con's: the apartment has summer sheers at the windows which allows the street lights to shine through at night as well as the motions detector lights that come on every high wind from the trees blowing in front of them, this caused me to not be able to sleep some nights because of the excessive lights. I suggest blackout curtains on a 2nd rod. The place is clearly located within walking distance to mini markets, markets, cafe's, a plethora of restaurants, the post office, the Tram (train) #8 and buses 88, 791 and 792, the Tram takes you to the center of Rome, straight shot, tickets are only 1.50Euros (tickets last 2 hours after stamping) but no one ever used them when boarding either the bus or the tram so I was able to cash in my last 3 tickets. I felt very warm in this apartment and being in Rome. I frequent the Market, which sells everything but furniture; from the kitchen to the closet, food, vegetables, meat, fish, clothes and much more. I walked every where except to the center of Rome and Vatican City. I visited the dentist for a cleaning which was only 50.Euros. I saw a doctor which was only 100.0Euros. The yoga place down the street (Via de Forte Bravetta) also has reasonable prices and they help you with your Italian, they spoke to me in both English and their language which was helpful. I went to Mana Cafe almost every morning for coffee and pastries, after a while they knew my order. The other place I visit for lunch or early dinner was the Taverna just down the road on Gianicolense, 185, great food and Himalaya Palace 277-279 Gianicolense; just about everything you need is on the main road Gianicolense, the pharmacy, post office, the big market, just keep walking. I prepared most of my own meals at least 6.5 times a week, I really felt at home. I'm definitely going back. Highly recommended!!!!

A great country feel just outside the center of Rome
This unit has a lot to recommend itself. The upstairs unit is a lovely nice sized suite that suited us well. There was someone who took our luggage up the stairs for us. Kerstin could not have been more helpful. We arranged to have her pick us up from the airport. On the way to "home" we stopped at a store to pick up a few necessities like milk, coffee, bread, meat, etc. We were able to have our morning cup of coffee without having to go looking for someplace to have it. It was far better having Kerstin pick us up than having to find a taxi to get there. She knew right where it was and also made the extra stop for us. The unit was very quiet, you would not even know you are just steps from being able to access everywhere you want to go. Kerstin called the local restaurant to assure we could be seated for dinner our first night - again, no having to search out a place to go in a strange country. So, jet lag and all, we had food and the things to tide us over for our full 6 day stay, a good meal and were able to go to bed and get a good night sleep without all of the usual searching for these amenities. I have spent many times in a foreign country just trying to get settled like this and having to really work at it. This was like going to stay with a friend who gets you all settled in and comfy, no effort on your part. Then she gave us all the information we needed to get to wherever we wanted to go in Rome, a map of where we were, help with our public transportation passes, local attractions, etc. Just a short walk away you find the local tram that ends at this station. It goes from here to the center of Piazza Venezia where you can walk to many of the main attractions of Rome or take another tram to where you want to go. Then you just have to find your way back to the # 8 tram and you end up a 3 minute walk away from your quiet little suite. There is a lovely view from the deck on the roof right over your head. The room has all the amenities of home. We shut the shutters and were able to sleep as long as we liked without being awoken by noises from outside. There is a lovely garden that you overlook to the front of the unit with an old convent that has been converted to a rehabilitation center or something like that. I only saw 1 older man being taken for a walk in it. Occasionally the bells will ring, I don't know how often, as I was never bothered by them. But when I did hear them it gave a wonderful comforting feeling.

Wonderful Apartment in Lovely Neighborhood
When travelling, especially out of the U.S., we generally rent apartments through VRBO in order to be part of a neighborhood, at least for the short time of our visit. Kerstin’s apartment in the Monteverde neighborhood in Rome was one of the best choices we have ever made. The apartment itself was spacious (especially for a one bedroom) and included everything you need to make it a second home for a few days or for a week, as we did. The neighborhood is quiet and very lovely; the view from the landing/siting area on the roof top of the apartment is particularly stunning. Great place for a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night, as long as the weather cooperates. As mentioned by other reviewers, Kerstin is a very gracious host who genuinely wants you to have a great experience in Rome. We arrived from Florence by train and her directions to the apartment were easy to follow. She offered to take us to a super market shortly after we arrived, which was quite helpful because those stores in walking distance were closed for a Nov. 1 holiday. For 30 Euros, she also drove us to the airport the day we departed. If you take tram and bus, it will take you much, much more time and cost about as much. Getting into the main historical area of Rome from the apartment is as easy as it can be: get on the tram which originates two blocks from the apartment and take it to the other end of the line and you’re there (we suggest purchasing a multi-day pass for which works on all trams, busses and the metro). Many of the places you will want to visit are walkable from that point, except perhaps the Vatican which you can easily get to by bus. Overall, our stay in Kerstin’s apartment made an otherwise outstanding visit to Rome much better than it might have been. As for touring Rome itself, the possible places for visiting speak for themselves. In addition to the “usual” museums and historical sites, we highly recommend: 1) the Borghese Gallery (you can get reserved tickets on line before you arrive), which is very well-organized for tourists, making your visit a special treat; 2) if you have time, take a day-tour from Rome to Pompeii. It’s a trip you will not likely ever forget.

Heerlijk verblijf in Rome!

Nice suite in great location for Rome
This suite is in a fantastic location for central Rome also with supermarkets nearby. The room was nicely air conditioned and all the rooms were nice. Only criticism is that on arrival we felt slightly pushed into spending more money with them and we were given a bag of things we would apparently need for our stay such as washing up liquid only to later be told this was costing us. Am not opposed to this, we just prefer them to be more upfront about it so we had more of a choice about whether we wanted it.

Thank you so much for your lovely and helpful review that you have written.
We are indeed very happy that you have appreciated and well illustrated the 'uniqueness of our resort location, together with the beauty of the rooms and the facilities available to them.
As you will have had occasion to note, we offer to accompany the new guests to the closest supermarkets and the most well-supplied resale of tickets for public transport.
When they can not do that on the day of arrival, due to time, or because of fatigue after a long trip, we offer to do it, the next day at the time more comfortable for our guests. Meanwhile, we provide a small "survival kit". for the symbolic price of € 5.00.
We make clear that the kit is entirely optional.
Upon arrival, all guests are greeted with eye-catching welcome appetizer (italian bruschetta, in the good season) and a good bottle of Italian wine doc. Nothing is, obviously, due for the "welcome appetizer".
All that is usually much appreciated by our guests.
We'll take inspiration from your review to be more precise, about it, in the future.
Marco
We are sorry that especially the offer of our starter kit left you in bad mood. We are astonished because we are accustomed that it is very apreaciated by most of our guests Basicly only guests who arrive by car might bring their own products as they want to avoid exactly this extra spending in the supermarket.
We are talking about basic products such as sugar, salt, vinegar, very good olive oil ( the cost of 0,3 l for the owner is 4€), toilet paper, kitchen paper, dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent (liquid and powder), liquid soap for the bathroom, several spices. All this has also to be kept cleen and in order and the price of 5€ is absolutely simbolic.
I ask right from the beginning if our guest is interest or not and I don't have the intention to increase our gain in this way as the gain is zero or even less. It is just a service. Obviously I did not find the right words or the right moment in your case.

About the host
Hosted by Kerstin
We are an Italian family consisting of a father, a german mother and two teenage sons. We live in a large mansion house, with several apartments (all independent) used to receive guests. We started this business for a relatively short time and carry out with enthusiasm. Our guests repay us for all the efforts, being, so far, always very happy with the choice made.
Why they chose this property
The villa is situated in a unique location, being close to the Old Town, where only very few ancient palaces, nowdays used for public functions, can benefit from a garden or a park that surrounds them. The villa also adjoins the largest public park in Rome, Villa Doria Pamphilj.
What makes this property unique
The garden of the villa allows you to walk on paths, the sides of which sprout roses, bougainvillea bushes, camellias and azaleas. Tall trees (pines, firs, cedars and eucalyptus), provide cool shade. But, there are also olive trees, pomegranates, persimmons, and oranges. All this in the center of Rome. Incredible! The inner courtyards, finally, also allow you to park cars, comfortably and safely.
