The little villa of San Giovanni is in a beautiful and peaceful countryside, panoramic and historic for Italy, all around there is an orchard and a vineyard, there is also a small chicken coop with a rooster,Romeo, and four hens,Giuliette, from which to have fresh eggs of day.
It is close to other inhabited houses both in summer and in winter, to get to the house you need to travel about 4 km of the SP14 from the small town of Calatafimi Segesta, be careful about 1 km of the road is not paved so we do not recommend use of motorcycles or low cars.
Important the strategic position of the villa being close to many provincial tourist sites such as the archaeological area of ​​Segesta at 10 km, the Segesta spas at 12, the sea at about 17, Trapani at 35, Selinunte at 33 km., Palermo at 75 km .

This charming home is set on a beautiful piece of property overlooking Calatafimi-Segesta. The view is stunning! My daughter and I enjoyed eating fresh eggs with basil and picking oranges and lemons from the trees. Andrea is a very special person. I came here to find my mother and father’s childhood church and area where they grew up and I could not have done it without Andrea. He took time everyday to help my daughter and I find our way to Calatafimi, Camporeale, and he even took us to Traponi where we met his beautiful daughter. You will feel and be treated like family here with Andrea. He was truly God sent with everything he did for us. I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay here. I hope to come back and visit again!!

Wonderful retreat in the country!

My husband and I just loved this little house! While it doesn't look like much in the pictures, it is clean and comfortable and quiet and the view can't be beat! We could sit on the covered porch, drinking an excellent local wine, looking out over the valley with the houses of Calatafimi in the distance. There are vineyards on one side of the house and an orange grove (where you can pick your own oranges!) on the other. It's a great location about 10 minutes drive from Calatafimi where you can find groceries, gas, bakeries, museums and ruins of a centuries old fort. It's an easy drive to Trapani, Erice, Segesta, Selinunte, Palermo, and just about anywhere in the western part of Sicily. The Homeaway link to the address worked perfectly with Google Maps, and our host, Andrea, met us in the driveway when we arrived. He was absolutely the best host ever -- he responded to our emails extremely quickly, and not only gave us everything we needed, but he also gave us fresh artichokes, olive oil that he had made, and a bottle of wine from his grapes! I can't recommend this place enough. Perfect for a couple or perhaps a small family. Oh, and Sicily in the springtime? It's so beautiful!

Très bel accueil de notre hôte Andrea, toujours disponible. La maison a beaucoup de charme, en pleine campagne, avec également les joies de la campagne. Il y a un poulailler juste à côté de la maison, on avait des oeufs frais tous les matins et également un potager à disposition. La piscine nous a permis de nous rafraichir. Maison conforme aux photos. La maison est à 10 minutes du village par une route en terre.

De inrichting is vrij "basis", weinig luxe maar het uitzicht vanaf de veranda is werkelijk fantasctisch. Ook de eigenaar is geweldig. We hadden een prima ontavngst en hij heeft ons aardig in de watten gelegd.

Andrea est une personne chaleureuse et généreuse ; dès le premier contact nous avons apprécié sa belle humeur. Nous nous sommes sentis vraiment accueillis. Nous avons pu profiter des tomates, poivrons, figues et autres fruits du jardin ainsi que des bons oeufs des poules. La vue depuis la maison est superbe, et le calme y est très appréciable. Cette location est parfaite, au bout du monde, pas vraiment mais si quand même, .à-bas, nous avons adoré le spectacle de la nature,, Cette maison, même si elle n'est pas si vieille, à une âme, parce qu'elle conservée des détails d' anciens modes de vie, malgré son confort sans faille. Ces 15 jours chez Andréas un hôte superbement sicilien, agréable et généreux, nous laissent encore rêveurs. Si les humains ne s'occupent plus de toucher méchamment à la nature cette petite partie du monde, ce petit coin de montagne restera merveilleux ainsi que les gens qui le protègent.

Un séjour exceptionnel !

Un vrai coin de paradis en pleine nature avec une vue imprenable sur les collines siciliennes. Produis bio mis à notre disposition : raisin, figues, tomates, citrons, poivrons, aubergines, huile d'olive, vin... Mais avant tout, une rencontre exceptionnelle avec Andréa le propriétaire des lieux.

Quiet retreat with mountain views

My wife and I stayed in this property for a week in May 2019. The location was rural, quiet and had spectacular views over the surrounding mountains. The property is surrounded by vineyards on three sides and an orchard and vegetable garden on the other, which we were allowed to help ourselves; never forget the fresh orange juice made from picking our own oranges. Andrea was the perfect host and brought us wine, olive oil, vegetables and fruit during our stay. If you want a break away from it all, yet only 30 minutes from the beach, this is the place to be, the children can play in the pool while you enjoy a glass of local wine on the veranda.

Nous avons tellement apprécié notre premier séjour du mois de mai que nous venons d'y retourner en septembre. La maison est confortable et pratique et très bien située, au milieu des vignes. En mai nous nous sommes régalés avec les oranges et en septembre avec le raisin et les légumes du potager bio à notre disposition. Andrea, le propriétaire est d'une grande gentillesse et toujours aux petits soins pour ses hôtes. Il a pris du temps pour nous montrer les choses intéressantes de Calatafimi et nous a même invités pour un repas chez lui. Nous conseillons vivement cette location. Encore un grand merci pour tout Andrea!

Une merveilleuse découverte!

Mais quelle belle surprise! Un site splendide sur 360° au centre duquel une très grande, très propre, très accueillante maison. L'annonce est bien moins bien que la réalité du lieu! Au bout d'un long chemin certes pas encore goudronné mais en haut d'une colline, au sommet d'un petit hameau de quelques maisons tranquilles, la propriété d'Andréa offre un havre de paix à quiconque a besoin de vacances dans la nature, au calme. Nous avons, à 5 en famille, passé une semaine merveilleuse dans cette maison, à la véranda spacieuse, à la petite piscine salvatrice par temps chaud. Un grand bonheur à découvrir que ce site qui - luxe pour les citadins - offre potager et vignes qui permettent de manger des produits du jardin, tout le séjour . Le propriétaire Andréa nous accueille avec chaleur et se met à notre disposition pour toute question. N'hésitez pas! Un exceptionnel rapport qualité-prix! A 30 mn en voiture de la réserve Zingaro, côte de criques magnifiques, à 45 mn de l'aéroport de Palerme. Un havre de paix où il fait bon être et qu'on ne voudrait pas quitter.

maison de famille bien aménagée et accueillante, un peu difficile d'accès (indispensable de contacter Andréa pour aller au gîte la 1ère fois). L'accueil d'Andréa, amical, généreux, attentif à la réussite de notre séjour à Calatafermi Segesta. Nous lui en sommes très reconnaissants.

un beau résumé de la sicile

Annonce conforme à la réalité. Andréa le propriétaire est une personne charmante, avenante avec le cœur sur la main. Sa maison toute simple est idéalement située, avec une splendide vue sur CALATAFIMI et les vignes qui l'entourent. Andréa met à la disposition des locataires un potager et les raisins de ses vignes avoisinantes. Nous attendez également du fromage confectionné par un voisin, de l'huile d'olive et du vin qu'Andréa fait lui même. La maison en elle même est dotée de tout le confort nécessaire (accès wifi pour les inconditionnels). L'autoroute n'est pas loin et permet de se rendre assez facilement vers toutes les destinations de l'ouest de la Sicile (PALERME, TRAPANI, AGRIGENTE...). Par contre la route d'accès à la maison est en mauvaise état mais même avec une berline assez basse cela passe. En tout cas cela met dans le bain et les rencontres sur cette route sont très pittoresques (carreto). Vraiment une très bonne adresse tant par le site que par son propriétaire et le prix très intéressant. Encore merci Andréa

vacances à Calatafimi

Superbes vacances. La vue est magnifique sur la campagne, les vignes, les pins et le village. Le logement est spacieux et fonctionnel, bien situé pour découvrir l'Ouest de la Sicile. La route d'accès n'est pas goudronnée, mais pas de problème à allure réduite. La petite piscine permet aux enfants de se rafraîchir. Andrea est une personne à l'écoute de ces hôtes et très intentionné. Ses légumes sont délicieux, ses conversations passionnantes. Nous espérons revenir.

Nous avons été très bien accueilli par Andrea qui est une personne très gentille et toujours prêt a rendre service. Il nous a fait partager des produits de son exploitation . La vue depuis la maison est vraiment de toute beauté. Nous recommandons cette maison simple mais agréable a vivre aux personnes qui aiment la campagne , le calme et est idéalement placé pour visiter l ouest de la Sicile On a passé de super vacances.

Un séjour merveilleux !!!

Nous avons été chaleureusement accueilli par Andrea (avec d'excellents produits de sa propritété). Il nous a proposé un gîte plus grand que celui que nous avions réservé. Nous étions au coeur de son exploitation (les fenêtres donnaient sur un champ d'orangers : paradisiaque au moment de la floraison !) Il y avait aussi une piscine naturelle dont les enfants ont beaucoup profité. Situé à quelques km du site de Segeste, le gite permet de rayonner facilement dans tout l'ouest de la Sicile (même jusqu'à Agrigente, à 3h de route). Le gite est bien équipé mais c'est vraiment le cadre et la bienveillance d'Andrea qui le rendent exceptionnel. Nous y retournerions avec le plus grand plaisir et nous le recommandons absolument ! Un grand merci encore à Andrea pour cette semaine merveilleuse !

Vacanza splendida

Casa molto comoda, attrezzata, pulita fresca ed accogliente. La veranda offre un paesaggio incantevole. La tranquillità è sovrana. L'acqua presa dalla sorgente vicina e i prodotti biologici disponibili sono " gustosissime ciliegine sulla torta". Il proprietario è disponibile, gentile e generoso. Consigliata a chi desidera il contatto con la natura. A noi è piaciuto tutto!!!

Il nous a fait partager les produits de son exploitation et nous a conviés à un véritable "tour de table" de spécialités locales toutes plus goûteuses les unes que les autres. Nous étions choyés par lui et avons pu faire connaissance avec la mentalité et la gentillesse siciliennes. Le lieu est magnifique et le point de vue superbe. Nous recommandons fortement cette maison sans prétention aux amoureux de la campagne.
