We try to make everything perfect and for people to enjoy a break away. What can we say but a pleasure to meet and greet. Your welcome back anytime.
One of the best equipped properties I have stayed in - absolutely everything you ned. Not enough space left though, to our your own things in the kitchen. Fine upstairs.Very well situated, very comfortable - loved the lazy loungers!

A well equipped and maintained property with wonderful surprises on arrival
Right next to a sandy beach, within easy reach of lovely places to explore provided the ideal property and location to holiday in. Whether chilling locally or returning from a day out the cottage was somewhere to return to, to relax and wind down

A beautiful, wonderfully located cottage.
We spent a week in this beautifully appointed cottage. From the yummy homemade cake waiting for us upon arrival, the owners had thought of every detail and need we may have had. Newbiggin is perfectly situated to enjoy North Numberland - Alnwick, Lindisfarne, Kielder and even south into Corbridge. We would thoroughly recommend a stay at Sandridge.
Great location promenade at bottom of street, pubs, restaurants, shops at top of street. Bedroom with four poster very comfortable and clean, two bathrooms both very clean modern. Upstairs bathroom walk in shower can run cold without warning. Downstairs bathroom shower over bath and toilet. Kitchen very well equipped absolutely everything you need, living room/dining room very roomy but cosy large tv Netflix etc. Beach promenade yards away, lovely walks close by, further afield Beamish Living Museam a great day out, Amble Harbour Village and Wirksworth Village and Castle short drive away, would definitely stay here again.

Home from Home!
Booked this little gem for my in-laws, who absolutely loved their break by the sea. The house is very well furnished and the owners went above and beyond to ensure they had a great stay. Good communication both before, during and after the stay. Of special note is the kind way they treated the family dog as an honoured guest - even had his own bed! Thanks again, we'd definitely book for future trips.

We always strive to give all our guests a very warm Geordie welcome; and try to ensure they have the best holiday possible.
Absolutely perfect location. Picture postcard view of the beach and sea which is literally a short walk away House is beautifully decorated with a seaside theme in most rooms. Very comfortable beds and settees and a kitchen which has everything you would ever need.Outside is a back yard with comfy seating. We absolutely loved every day we stayed . And as soon as we left we yearned to return ..Fabulous

Enchanting. Decorated with so much love and attention to detail.
Truly a home from home. Full of warmth and cosiness. A peaceful and comfortable place to return to after a full day's explorations, and tourist activities.
Although limited in space, there was enough room for 6 people of three generations to live together harmoniously. The owners successfully created - with a multitude of decor items - an athmosphere of a homely seaside refuge, which allowed you to return from the daytime adventures into a cocoon of sheltered warmth.
Two things we missed:
- the experience of Newbiggin-by-the-sea at the height of summer (as we only visited at the very end of the summer season)
- the opportunity to meet our hosts in person, to thank them for providing us with such lovely accomodation, and for making us feel so very welcome.
We can wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Sandridge.

Many thanks for your lovely review. As you indeed pointed out the property is designed to accommodate five people and the sixth guest would have used the trundle bed. After discussions with my partner we have decided that in future we will only accept a maximum of 5 guests. It is a pity you didn't experience Newbiggin by the Sea at the height of the summer because of social commitments. We endeavour to ensure Sandridge is very welcoming and accommodating. Keeping the house in excellent condition. We try to leave our guests to enjoy their stay, their house for the holiday, although always on hand if assistance is needed.

Perfect home from home
Took my father, who is 87, back home to Newbiggin-by-the-Sea to spend time with family. House is extremely well equipped, there is a welcome basket full of goodies and fresh cake in the tin for your arrival. Everything you need is there for you including coffee, tea, chocolate biscuits and milk.
It’s very comfortable, bright and clean. 2 bathrooms is a real bonus, the kitchen is well stocked, there’s even a back yard with a table, chairs and sofas to make the most of a little sunshine.
You couldn’t get nearer to the sands and it’s only a few minutes walk to the co-op and the local bakery for supplies. If you’re not from Northumberland get a stottie from the bakery and fill it with pease pudding, for me that’s a true reminiscence of childhood.
The Indian restaurant is very good, well priced and less than 5 minutes walk.
If you are planning a trip to Northumberland I recommend Sandridge, you’ll to be delighted you stayed there!

Thank you for the lovely review. It was a pleasure to welcome you back to Newbiggin by the Sea. We try to ensure all our guests have a wonderful stay, and we believe personal touches make a difference. Your holiday begins when you arrive at Sandridge; so you don't have to rush straight out for groceries as we supply all the basics. You can have a cup of tea or coffee and a chocolate biscuit and sit back and organise your itinerary for your holiday.
Good location, very clean and comfortable. Easy parking, would recommend. The photos on the website do not do justice to the spacious rooms. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved the welcome pack. Just perfect!!
A lovely cottage in a great location. Communication with owners was excellent and they have gone out of their way to create a comfortable well equipped holiday home. We will return.
lovely place to work from, would definitely go back with the family.

So pleased you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to welcoming you back with your family. Hopefully 2021 will be a wonderful, joyous year for everyone.
We had a fantastic time in Sandridge, less than a minute to the sandy beach. At the cottage we wanted for nothing as it was very well equipped and decorated beautifully. Would definitely go back and dee and Gary are wonderful hosts especially in these trying times. Couldn't fault it at all.
Gary and Dee have set the bar very high at Sandridge. Everything you need and more. Previous reviews say it all. I wish they had more cottages around the country as we would definitely go to those. If we returned to the area we would definitely stay at this cottage again. Less than 100 yards from a beautiful beach and locals shops and restaurants within in an easy walk.
Lovely cottage in a great location, right next to the beach & promenade which was great for early morning walks with our little dog. Although the weather wasn’t great it was so nice to come back each day to a comfy home from home!! Everything here you could need on a day to day basis. Very thoughtful welcome gifts and even Charlie the dog had his own bed and toys.
Thank you both

About the host
Hosted by Gary Hall
Our family were born and bred in the North East and when this beautiful sandstone house close to the sea and promenade came up for sale we were lucky enough to purchase it. Having spent many happy times at our caravan at Sandy Bay, Newbiggin by the Sea, (as have our holiday guests) we were very aware of the needs of holiday makers. Living close to the property we are able to personally manage Sandridge, in order to ensure our guests have a wonderful experience - we are friendly, helpful people and I assure you nothing is too much trouble. If you have any special needs we are happy to help.
Why they chose this property
Our families ages range from 2 to 89, and the area accommodates the different needs. For example, the beach and park for the young ones, Newcastle City Centre for the lively night live, theatres, and shops, is only a short drive away. My husband and I, and my 89 year father particularly enjoy a stroll along the promenade, and the beautiful Northumberland Coast line, where you can visit Amble, Sea Houses, Bamburgh, Alnwick Castle and Gardens (Harry Potter), and see some breath taking scenery. The house is perfectly situated for exploring Northumberland.
