We didn’t get to stay as long as we would’ve liked, and at the same time-Wow! What a great place in a quiet location. It’s decorated so cozy and had everything you could need for a short or long stay. Thank you, Stephanie-for sharing your piece of heaven with us!

Thank you Pattie I'm so glad you both enjoyed your stay and hope you can return again someday!
The cottage is located east of the burren but within easy driving range (~30min to the Burren, ~60min to the Cliffs of Moher) it is an absolutely great place for relaxing, and the host (Stephanie) is really great and very friendly. We really enjoyed staying there and we surely will be back. The peppers in Feakle offers great live music and good food including breakfast.

We had a lovely stay in this beautifully appointed cottage (right down to an excellent set of knives for cooking!) From the lovely interior to the stunning gardens this was a delightful stop. Suzanne is an excellent host with a great knowledge of the area. If you are looking for a romantic getaway or just a place to unwind and relax--this is it!

We had a wonderful time in this little gem of accommodation. The cottage contains everything we needed (even spices, fresh fruits, sweets and fresh eggs) and Stephanie was a fantastic host. Thanks a lot.

Property was fine , very quiet if you’re looking for some quiet time but a lot of driving for visiting the west coast. Not too many places to eat around.

Our guests enjoy the well equipped kitchen for preparing their own choice of food while relaxing in the cozy cottage after a day of visiting the many sights. There is also a renowned Pub/restaurant nearby along with 3 Take Aways, many more restaurants in the two larger towns of Gort/Ennis and wonderful Seafood restaurants on the coast. Perhaps a city or beach resort would suit those wishing to eat out everynight. Its advisable that the Solo traveler prepare and research their type of holiday before travelling so far from home......
Love it ! Very quiet, clean and peaceful place in the middle of the country, beautifully decorated. Everything we needed was there. The flowers in front of the cottage are beautiful and it was very pleasant to eat outside when the weather allowed it! The host, Stephanie is very nice, kind and caring. She helped us with everything we needed. We really enjoyed our stay there.

I'm happy that you enjoyed your stay and it was a pleasure to meet you. I love the stainglass heart with its interesting bevelled clear glass center....I can see my garden multiplied through it! ♥
This is the perfect place to get away from everything. Quiet and serene. Stephanie is a pleasant and amenable host. She gives you complete privacy but is readily available if you need her. Very knowledgeable of the area. I'll be back.

Thank you and I'm so delighted that you both enjoyed your sample stay in Co. Clare. Do stay a little longer next time because there really is so much to see and experience in this very diverse county!
Was like a delightful step back in time. Peaceful! Loved the countryside. Local cows became friends. Learned about using turf in stove. We loved it! Very easy to start! Stephanie was wonderful and made some reservations for us as well as providing turf for our first night when stores were closed. Lovely village!
We stayed here for 6 days and it was wonderful.
The cottage is super cozy and has everything you need. The communication with Steph was perfect all the time and she was always helpful. The cottage is a bit far off in the nature so you'd definitely want to have a car for your stay. It's a 1- 1 and 1/2 hour drive to different touristic places like Cliffs of Mother, Spanish Point etc but I would recommend everyone to visit the cliffs of Kilkee, because it is much more beautiful and not that crowded. All in all a wonderful cottage with a wonderful host.
Thank you Steph 😊
This little cottage is within easy distance for day trips to many towns and attractions. It retains an old world charm while providing everything needed for a comfortable stay.
As an older couple, we were unable to make use of the bedroom area but we used the bed settee, leaving it made up throughout our stay, and still had plenty of room.
The single track roads in the area take a bit of getting used to but are easily negotiated with a bit of patience.
Stephanie, the host, was very friendly and informative about the area, offering suggestions of suitable places to visit. Thank you for helping make our visit so enjoyable!

Cozy, peaceful, rejuvenating haven after busy tourist days!
Druid Cottage is a peaceful haven! At first we were concerned that it seemed far from everything but actually it’s just far enough!!! Tucked against a hill in farm country...a short walk up the hill and there are gorgeous views of the hills and valley and even the lake. We loved that Stephanie recycles and composts and there’s an organic farm stand at the end of her drive. Stephanie went out her way to make us feel welcome and gave great advise on things to do and see, places to shop and eat. We were so sorry to leave and hope someday to return! Thank you Stephanie!

I'm happy that you had a relaxing time at the cottage. It's so nice to rest between excursions by the wood burning stove and enjoy short walks along the lanes. It's May and the wild flowers are about!

It was a pleasure to host you and family, I also hope you return another time to enjoy a relaxing stay. Guests usually find that a small car is the best which delivers them to the sights with ease.
Thank you for your kind review and you three were a joy to meet and I'm so happy that you also got to visit the Aran Islands and Connamara. Best wishes
Stephanie
My Husband and I stayed at Druid Cottage for three weeks in October and could not have hoped for a more charming, relaxing hideaway.
The space is very cozy, with many thoughtful details.
The kitchen is well stocked with essentials, so it’s very easy to prepare meals making use of the fresh organic vegetables from the farm stand across the quiet country road or the fresh dairy and eggs (all from Glendree Organic Farm) just a 3 minute walk from the cottage.
There is a sweet cat, Smudge who lives on the property. She is very cute and friendly, and we enjoyed visiting with her and the host, Stephanie.
The location is great, as it is out of the way enough to be peaceful, but only a 10 minute drive to Tulla, where you can pick up grocery essentials, fuel for the wood stove, or grab a pint. If you are looking for more of a city vibe, Ennis is just 30 minutes away and Galway is just over an hour. Due to the location, you will definitely want to have a vehicle.
Stephanie provides detailed info on walking trails and fun historical sights all around county Clare.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We can’t wait to come back and visit Stephanie and Smudge soon!

Our family of four enjoyed top hospitality. Our cottage fit all our needs and from the very beginning we have felt welcomed. Our host went above and beyond our expectations. Considering future return to County Clare, Druids Cottage will be our first choice ever.

Absolutely stunning cottage in a beautiful area of Ireland. Highly recommend for anyone looking to get away for a quiet break, Stephanie is very helpful and a lovely host.

CU next Time / Manu und Marko

This small cottage is like a cozy refuge to get away from every-day life. It is so quiet out there, you almost won't believe it. And yet (if you have a car) you can get into town in 10 minutes. Being quite central in Claire County, it also can be a good starting point for day-trips around the country.
Loved being in the country instead of a busy city. Very peaceful. Great cottage. Very friendly and helpful hostess. Would recommend to any one.

Druid Cottage
This little cottage FAR exceeded my expectations. It was an absolutely perfect location, and made a great ‘home base’ from which to explore the area and take in the traditional music for which East Clare is so well known. Steph was a welcoming and responsive host, and I hope to come back; it truly feels like home!

About the host
Hosted by Stephanie Gahan
I grew up in Dublin and after my studies and traveI I settled in County Clare to raise my children and now enjoy wonderful grandchildren. I have a passion for adventure and often spend winter away staying as a guest in small selfcatering apartments, so naturally I have a good idea of what makes Druid cottage comfortable for my guests! I love hiking along coastal and hillside paths....As Albert Einstein said, "Look into nature and you will understand everything."
Why they chose this property
East Clare is a beautiful area with rolling hills, lakes, small farms and many creative and artistic people. The cottage is located between two small villages and not far from the main towns of Ennis, Gort and Scariff. The cities of Limerick and Galway are within an hours drive and every turn of the road shows different scenery especially when you head west to the wild Atlantic where I also love to walk the coastal pathways.
What makes this property unique
The stone cottage is the original pre Irish famine family home lovingly renovated to todays requirments. Its small with a spacious uncluttered feel and the new cosy mezzanine is where families would have all slept years ago.
Perfect for sightseeing, quiet fishing, a three day quiet retreat or equally suitable for longer stays as we have high speed internet for remote workers.
