Very excellent place to stay. Place was beautiful, very clean and everything was provided that you would need for stay. We would definitely stay at this place again.
This is a perfect property for a short or extended stay. It's in a great location next to ski trails. The house is spotless and well-equipped with all kitchen utensils, plates, cups, etc.Excellent communication with Bill, the property manager. All our emails and questions were answered as without any delays. We will not hesitate to rent this place for our future trips.
This property is in a beautiful location right on the AuSable River. The house provided us with things to do with one of the rainy days we had. This is not the first time we stayed here, and it won't be the last.
Wonderful home for a peaceful getaway. Like previous guests have said the home is very well stocked. Large kitchen with everything you could need including coffee pots, coffee filters baking sheets, etc. bathrooms well stocked also with toilet paper soap, towels, all the essentials. Great backyard with fire pit and firewood provided. Can walk right out your back door with a tube and float down the river to the canoe livery about a 20 -25 minute float and then walk back to the house only a half a mile. Couldn’t ask for a better host. He answers very promptly and took care of any issues we had (AC went out and he had somebody there within 30 minutes to fix). Wouldn’t hesitate to rent this place again. Highly recommend.
We had a lovely stay. Sitting out on the patio and looking over the river was very peaceful. Despite having neighbors on all sides, it felt very secluded and was quiet. The view of the fireworks over the river on the 4th was an added treat! The home had everything we could need to make our stay comfortable.
This home was really comfortable, clean, true to the photos and close to kayaking and hiking. Being able to bring two dogs was the best. My dog enjoyed the river and had a great time. My family and I had a wonderful vacation and plan on returning next year. It has everything you need and super close to a grocery store which alleviated bringing up a lot of food
Had a great time at this spacious house with amazing views out of the many windows! Only 3 of us (2 adults, 1 toddler) but would easily accommodate many more, especially with the 3 full bathrooms. Neighborhood is very peaceful and close to town (could walk to the grocery store if wanted since it was a mile away). We stayed in winter but are looking forward to coming back in the summer to enjoy the river. We loved having the indoor fireplace and he even was nice enough to supply wood!
cozy big house right down the street from ski trail
We chose this house for its big fireplace, river views, and proximity to cross country ski trails, and all those were great! We had no snow, however, so we just did some train running and hiking instead and would love to return when there is some snow. The fireplace is double-facing and really big -- plenty of wood. We loved watching the ducks swim around in the river while sipping our coffee. The heating system in the house is very warm. We enjoyed the place very much.
The home was as described, a bit broken up. The living room was really small, but they used all the extra room in the kitchen/dining room which was huge! A nice, large dining table AND a small 2 person round table by the window. The kids loved the pool table. The adults love the chairs and table on the deck. Good parking available. Plenty of room for all.
Our stay was amazing! Mom, Dad, and 3 daughters ages 12, 8, 7. Plenty of room and so many things to explore. We used Campbell's down the road to Kayak. Higgins lake state park is so close we visited there for a day trip. We golfed, and spent the rest of the time on the decks overlooking the gorgeous river.
We were staying to work on a nearby new home and a storm knocked the power to the new home. The owner of this rental worked with us to move our stay without any penalties. I will stay here anytime im in town.
Our favorite house to stay at when we are visiting Roscommon Michigan. Roscommon is such a cute little town with lots of friendly people. Bill the owner was very nice, and the check in was a easy process. The house was very clean, no complaints! Everything was so beautiful and relaxing. Watching the Roscommon Fourth of July fireworks on the deck is a must! Highly recommend this house to anyone that is looking for a nice place to stay.
My family and I just stayed here for a week in June. It's the second time we've rented this home and most likely won't be the last. It's perfect for a larger group (we had six and a dog). The pictures on the site are accurate. Spacious kitchen and a brand new gas stove made cooking very enjoyable. Super close to a market and gas station and a few restaurants, all walkable. Kayak livery right at the end of the street, which unfortunately, we were not able to utilize as we had a number of rainy days. Highly recommend this place!
This property has a beautiful view of the river. The house was comfortable and we did use the kitchen for every meal which was stocked with all the tools we needed. This home has a lot of strange sounds at night which we thought it might be the heaters. Overall a very nice home.

Im a life long resident of Roscommon. I grew up on this river and love all it has to offer. We fish, canoe and swim in the summer and ski in the winter. Roscommon is home.
What makes this property unique
This house is cool because it is close to town but may as well be a million miles away. There are no canoe liveries upstream so there is no canoe traffic. it is totally peaceful. The trail head for the ski trail is a short walk down the road. The open floor plan with a fireplace in the middle makes for the tops in relaxation.
