We had a wonderful stay here, it was a nice and relaxing cottage overlooking the lake. Lots to do up in this area. Hosts were very responsive and ensured we had everything we needed.

Beautiful place to vacation, beautiful lake view, quiet and friendly people. Wonderful place to relax. Also had a paddle boat, 2 surf board's and 2 kayaks to use for free. The lake is beautiful and clear. Very clean property. We will be back next year. Also not far from other places to fish and rivers to explore.

We had a long weekend, a guys getaway. Spent time on the lake, did a little hiking and ran the rapids on the Menominee. Cabin fit the bill, had all our basic needs, only issue was air quality from Canadian wildfires. Really appreciated the window A/C unit as we spent more time inside then planned because of the fires.

Great place to surround yourself with nature

Would love to spend some fall time in this place someday…very peaceful. Loons on the lake calling daily and eagles and Great Blue Herons..,lovely road walks in the northwoods right from the cabin.

Lakefront Beautiful Views

Just as advertised. Small one bedroom right on Pickerel Lake. Lake a bit weedy but caught fish. Kayaking was great fun! Patio view was amazing for 4th of July Fireworks. Golfing was great when weather permitted. Had a wonderful time! Great hosts, even left a welcome gift for us.

Cottage by the Lake

Very nice clean cottage and is truly is on the lake. We brought our boat and was concerned about the boat launch and a pier for docking, not to worry, this cottage has a very nice boat launch within walking distance of the cottage (two blocks) and two boat docks for your use. The cottage is well stocked with kitchen utensils including "bread pans". The tv works great and there are plenty of movies to watch on rainy days if you choose to do so. We found that there are two good eating places there for steaks, chicken and ribs if you get tired of burgers. Overall, our stay was very pleasant and the owners were very helpful. We caught nice pan fish and liked "checking out" the various bars on the lake for a quick burger after a day of fishing. One more thing, if you do go up late in the year you might want to bring extra blankets for the cool nights just in case.

Bob and Kerry have a wonderful cabin on Pickerel Lake. Clean, beautifully decorated and everything except bedding, towels and food are provided. We really enjoyed fishing right off the pier, and it was peaceful and quiet. They were very responsive to any questions we had. We had a wonderful time and plan on visiting again.DBChicago

Comfy Little Cottage

Loved the proximity to the lake and size of the cottage, with all of the kitchen and other amenities we needed. Wish there had been a better way to launch the kayaks to prevent hubby's fall into the lake. (that's right, we're not very coordinated). But we're thinking we may try constructing and bringing some sort of pad from which we can get in/out of the kayaks next time. We do hope to return next year!

Beautiful lake, but

Wanted some peace and quiet and that is what I got because I went in the off season otherwise there are many cabins right next to each other and during the summer season I can't imagine much peace. I did enjoy my stay for the most part but there are things I feel should be attended to and disclosed. The property isn't very dog friendly if your dog likes water. The access down to the dock/water is wrought Iron grates as steps which a dog cannot use without possibly getting legs caught and/or broke. Thankfully the lady in the cabin next store said I could use their access to the water because they were not going to be there for the rest of the week. Had I not been able to use it I probably would have left and just forfeited my money. I would probably not list this as a place to bring dogs. The gas grill appears to be out of propane. I turned the valve on and tried to light it but I didn't even smell gas so I am guessing it is out. The furniture is very old and not even close to comfortable. The couch is really worn and tattered. I sat in one of the chairs to put my shoes on and almost sunk to the floor. I really feel the furniture should be replaced because at some point after having a power packed fun day, you will retire to the cabin and want to relax but with the furniture you can't. On the upside, great lake with nice views. The wildlife is plentiful with Bald Eagles putting on a show the one day. That was amazing. Got some beautiful pictures. I can only imagine the beauty of the fall colors as they were just staring to turn.

Thank you for your comments. Although there are cottages near by, they aren't used and actually provide privacy from neighbors further down. The lady next door was the owner, and as a guest you are always welcome to use the second pier which is accessible via cement steps. Our family dogs are always swimming in the lake. Since we don't live in the area, we always keep an extra propane tank available. Most extra amenities are available on the porch as noted in the guest book. The chairs do sit low but work well for our short guests and the couch, which isn't very old, has some small tears from our renters. Unfortunately, it's a bit costly to replace a sofa sleeper every couple years.
