Our beautiful cottage is in the picturesque village of Hunton in Lower Wensleydale. The pub is almost opposite so you don't have to travel far if you don't wish to, but if you do then there is a wealth of things to see and do in the local area. It is a fantastic area for walking and cycling. There is horse racing at Catterick & Ripon and horses can be seen on the gallops at nearby Middleham early each morning. You can enjoy family trips to The Forbidden Corner, Hawes Creamery (the home of Wensleydale cheese), Lightwater Valley and the two breweries in Masham. There are regular markets in the towns of Leyburn, Bedale, Richmond & Masham all of which are a short drive away. There are castles to explore at Richmond and Middleham. And after a hard day of exciting trips around the area there are numerous pubs and restaurants where you can relax with something great to eat and drink. You will never be short of things to do!

Cosy cottage in a lovely location
Fabulous garden with stunning views of open countryside
Well equipped kitchen, cosy sitting room and inside/outside dining areas
Nice welcome pack
Let down by lack of communication and presence of the owners at check-in even after notifying them of our time of arrival twice as instructed
Disappointed to find out from the pub opposite, not the owners, that the Local village shop has been closed for several months!!! This needs to be pointed out on all the websites that advertise this property as the nearest shop is a few miles away.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage is comfortable and very well equipped with a welcome pack of basics which was much appreciated. Jason was very helpful and the location is great. I loved the garden and paddock beyond with the donkeys
We really enjoyed our stay, the cottage was very clean and comfortable, loved the garden backing onto the field with the animals, and the pub across the road. We were even able to walk back from the Wyville Arms after our meal.
The welcome pack was very much appreciated, thank you.
A very well appointed cottage, with extremely comfortable sofas and beds! Secure gardens both front and back made it perfect for our dogs too. All in a fabulous location....
Cottage was in an ideal location for exploring the Dales. Was very cosy and a home away from home.
The welcome pack was much appreciated.
Definitely a place to return to
Lovely old stone property with relaxing decor, loads of space and peaceful atmosphere. Great bath with lovely hot water. Loved having separate dining room, kitchen and sitting room. Will come back again. Visit pub over road. Great atmosphere too.

Sehr schönes Haus am Rande der Yorkshire Dales
Schönes Haus. Wunderbare Lage. Küche offensichtlich modernisiert, enthält alles, was benötigt wird. Kontakt mit Vermieter sehr problemlos. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in Catterick Garrison, nur 15 Autominuten entfernt.

Beautifully situated cottage. Traditional, spotlessly clean and roomy. Perfect
A gorgeous traditional cottage in lovely village with pub and shop in great area. A perfect base for our friends wedding in Hackforth. We could not have asked for a more perfect place. Looked out of kitchen window onto pasture land with friendly sheep and donkeys. Enjoyed meals in the pretty garden and beds so comfortable. Well equipped and well cared for. Would definitely return. Next time with push bikes to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside. A real treasure of a find. Massive thank you to the hosts for sharing this little gem.

Social Getaway
Stone Cottage was ideal for our trip to North Yorkshire for a wedding and catch up with friends and family. Clean, generally well equipped cottage (needs a grill pan and new pots and pans), with a nice secure garden(as we had dogs with us) and a patio with furniture. The weather was amazing, so everyday was breakfast al fresco.
The owners were very welcoming and helpful and we would recommend it.
