About this property
Explorer's Escape, by Veeve
Located in the leafy neighbourhood of Holland Park in West London's Notting Hill area, this sleek and modish second-floor apartment has been newly decorated and is just a 5 minute walk to the generous green spaces and ornamental gardens of Holland Park and a 1 minute walk to Holland Park Underground station (on the handy Central line).
Just a ten minute walk is the buzzing Westfield Shopping Centre, London's Premier shopping destination. Just 15 minutes through the park to lively High Street Kensington where you’ll find both the Whole Foods emporium and Kensington Palace (Home to the Royal couple, Kate and William).
An entry hall with in-built wardrobe leads into the open-plan kitchen and dining area. The modern kitchen has rustic wooden worktops and all the appliances you might need in order to prepare a meal at home and a dining table, which comfortably seats four, but often hosts six. Leading out of the kitchen is access to a very generously sized roof terrace... an ideal spot to relax after a long day out exploring the Capital!
The airy living room, to the front of the apartment, looks out over tree-lined Holland Park Avenue and is flooded with natural light. Varnished oak wooden floorboards, contemporary furniture and carefully selected artwork make this a lovely room in which to relax. A large flat-screened TV with Cable, DVD and MP3 players provide entertainment. Upon request, the sofa bed can be set up to accommodate an extra adult, or two children.
The master bedroom is comfortably set up with a double bed and a chest of drawers for storage, as well as a baby cot which can be made available on request. The bathroom has a generous Bette bath (with Grohe shower) and sleek white tiling contrasting against the dark tiles of the flooring. Separate personal reading lights are supplied for the bedroom.
This property is the perfect escape for a couple or small family wishing to visit the fashionable area of Notting Hill with the world renowned Portobello Market and all its treasures nestled within the historic antique and food stalls. For those familiar with the quintessential British film ‘Notting Hill’ the street where this was filmed may well be worth a visit!
Eating out or eating in, in this area you will be spoilt for choice: E&O located on nearby Blenheim Crescent is a noteworthy pan-Asian dining experience while the lauded 2 Michelin starred Ledbury Restaurant is a fine dining treat. Julies at nearby Clarendon Cross, boasts a romantic location for a drink while in Holland Park Marco Pierre White’s Belvedere restaurant offers an elegant dining in the park where the peace is only broken by the calls of the wandering peacocks. There are also plentiful reasonably priced cafes and restaurants for more mid-range or less formal dining.
Just a step out of the apartment and the Avenue is home to a wide range of great neighbourhood businesses; a diner style restaurant, cosy boutiques, coffee shops, patisseries, bookshop, excellent pharmacy, grocery store, Italian delicatessen, greengrocer, wine merchant, ice-cream parlour, international newspaper store, pub, dry cleaners and award-winning Lidgates which sells an award-winning range of fine meats and deli items for customers including Buckingham Palace!
The Holland Park Underground is really well located 2 minutes from the property with direct access to the Central line - you'll be whisked to Bond Street and Oxford Circus within 15 minutes or Bethnal Green, a gateway to the vibrant East End of Hackney and Shoreditch in 25. A quick change at Notting Hill station means you can also be at London’s fashionable Sloane Square and the trendy King’s Road with its high-end boutiques and restaurants in less than 20 minutes. If catching a bus is more appealing you can take the 31 directly to Camden Town or the 148 which takes you straight to the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. Plus the 94 drops you directly outside Selfridges or Piccadilly Circus all in perfect time for a West End show!
The Heathrow Express train brings you into London in 15 minutes from the airport into nearby Paddington station from which the apartment is just a short Taxi ride away.

Why they chose this property
Londoner’s can’t help but associate this west London neighbourhood with one of the highlights of the summer: Notting Hill Carnival. The rest of the year is, of course, somewhat quieter; Notting Hill being at its heart, a leafy, residential neighbourhood home to the chic, well-heeled and rather famous. But even so, something of the electric, bohemian spirit of that August bank holiday remains in the air all year long.
