Loved being in a Venice neighborhood and not in a tourist area. More local foods and groceries. The only thing that would have made it better would have been a working coffee maker and filters.
The host was there at the Vaporetto (water bus) stop to meet us and take us to the nearby apartment. Along the way he showed us the grocery store and suggested several restaurants. The apartment is charming and located in a quiet neighborhood. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Excellent choice!

Although the TV did not work I have to say it’s the place to stay in Venice big enough for families comfortable and close to everything . The host was truly amazing with communication from 3 days in advance to ensure we check in fine. Nothing was to much for him even though he was sick at the time

The apartment is spacious and in a very quiet location. We could walk or take a boat to all of the sights. There is a grocery store nearby. The kitchen is well equipped. The beds were comfortable. We would definitely recommend the apartment.
We had an incredible stay here. It was only a five minute walk to the vaporetto stop and grocery store, and removed just enough to not feel overwhelmed by tourists and crowds. There was plenty of space for all six of us to spread out and it was a very comfortable stay!
The location was fantastic as we were within easy walking distance of the sights but also quiet at night. Our host, Andrew, provided timely communication in advance of our trip, met us at our water taxi drop-off, and even provided much needed communication with a courier when our luggage was lost.
We highly appeciated this accomodation because of its position, out of hustle and bustle of heavily touristic areas but close to everything (10-15 min of nice walking to Saint Mark), and its still genuine surroundings, full of places to discover, and non-tourist restaurants. Comfortable to reach from/to the airport this accomodation is quiet and comfortable. Perfect in person check-in service.
Great flat. 2 adults and 3 children and plenty of room. Andrea was great with us, welcomed us and provided us with help and advice. Apartment was comfortable and AC worked great in the summer heat. Great place to stay !
We loved our stay, the beds were comfy, it’s quiet and a lovely walk to the sights (10-15 mins) and great restaurants. The waterbus is close by. A great real Venice experience.
We wanted to stay away from crowds and in a Venetian neighborhood, so this place was perfect for us. There was enough space for the two couples and we really liked having two bathrooms. Within a couple minute walk in multiple directions are cafés and restaurants that were fantastic. And there are nearby vaporetto stops if you don’t feel like walking, though getting to the Rialto bridge or San Marco piazza is only 10-15 minutes.

The property was well suited for our needs as a family of 5 (with kids ages 8-14). My family loved the area because it was not crowded with tourists but still walking distance to the major tourist sites. We loved Andrew, the property manager, the most - he was most welcoming and helpful with directions and recommendations.
Great experience. The appartament is comfortable, well heated, fournished. The location allows you to get awway from the tourist hordes and feel the venetian's Venice. We had a great time and would definitely return.
We had a wonderful stay. Place was exactly as described, clean, very spacious, with a well equipped kitchen. Hosts were very helpful! We were told what water bus to get on, what stop to get off and they met us there to walk us to the home. We wanted to be away from the busy crowded streets of San Marco area, and this place was perfect location for just that!
Quiet location away from tourists yet accessible to main attractions and markets. Restaurants in area were wonderful. Apartment roomy and bathrooms were very clean. Andrew even provided a bottle of Italian bubbly to celebrate. Mr. Andrew was very responsive to all our questions, even in the evening, when we had a question on getting to the train station. Happy with choice for 1st time in Venice.
Andrew's apartment is spacious and comfortable, with beautiful views from the balcony, and had everything that we needed. It also has good air conditioning, which definitely helped on the hot summer days. Andrew is a friendly and kind host who goes out of his way to make it a happy stay; he met us at the water bus stop and walked us to the apartment, filling me in with details about the neighborhood, tips for restaurants, etc. along the way. And the Castelo neighborhood is just so lovely. As advertised in the description and mentioned in other reviews, the neighborhood is really pretty and chill, while still being a short walk to all of the major attractions in the city. Trust me, when you finish up with a day of sightseeing and wading through the throngs of other tourists, it is pretty heavenly to return to serene Castelo. One attraction that was surprisingly empty, much to our delight, was the beautiful Scuola Grande di San Rocco, home to magnificent Tintoretto artwork. It's a must! Thank you, Andrew -- for a great stay in this magical city.

Lovely apartment in a nice quiet area about 10 mins from St Marc’s Square
Two sparkling new bathrooms. Plenty of lovely towels.
Nice sunny lounge overlooking a pretty courtyard.
Everything you need in the kitchen and dining room.
Lovely Andrew met us at the ferry and guided us to the apartment. Main bedroom is large, but the second bedroom is a bit small for a double. Had to squeeze past the end of the bed to get to the other side.
We enjoyed the apartment and our time in Venice.

Not what we expected
The property was not very clean nor well maintained. The second bedroom desperately needs attention( paint and decent pillows) and the entrance was dirty. Property needs some TLC.

Dear Guest, thank u for your kind Review. It’s a shame it is too general to help us understand and improve. In most of our guests opinion our apartment is always perfectly clean, well maintained and appointed. We have the same opinion. So we are wondering why u write it was not perfectly cleaned and mantained? Just because u did not like pillows? There are about 10 pillows for each guest in the apart, did u try different ones? In few parts walls are streaked yes (not dirty), especially from the guests suitcases. This is why we repaint them every year. Also, as we are in Venice building ground floor access is sometimes affected by “acqua alta” phenomenon, walls are a bit peely and floor a bit grey (not dirty), a typical venetian ground floor access. Finally it seems that streaks on the walls and Venetian access affected your opinion on the whole accomodation? We do not really understand but we will anyway do our best to improve. Thank u.
First of all Andrew is a spectacular host! He met us at the water taxi and showed us to the Vrbo! That was such a great start to our vacation in Venice! He even helped us with our luggage! The place was clean and had air conditioning which is a must in the summer months in Italy. The washrooms were clean and showers had great water pressure too. The kitchen is a little small but, adequate for holidays. Washer came in handy. No dryer but if you washed your clothes in the morning they were dry by bedtime. Only complaint are the beds are hard. We didn’t mention it either. I would definitely stay here again! Thank you so much Andrew!!

Andrew is a wonderful host! He arranged private water taxi service for us from the train station and met us where the boat dropped us off to walk us to the apartment. The apartment is so lovely - very clean and spacious and air conditioned which was key for the hot days! My daughter loved the couch so much she slept there every night. Bathrooms were clean and the shower in the main bathroom had good water pressure. Don’t know about the temp as we took cold showers every day because it was so hot! There was a grocery store within 5 min walk and Andrew had great restaurant recommendations. The food at the Osteria Santa Giustina was so good that we ate there 2 nights in a row and it was only a 5 min walk from the apartment. We also loved that the apartment was away from the touristy areas but only a 15-20 min walk to San Marco Square. It was fun exploring all the little streets and bridges to get to and from there. Overall a wonderful stay - would totally stay here again!
Lots of good things (bathrooms nice, WIFI works good, 15 minute walk to St. Marks) Water bus drops you a good 15 minute walk (with suitcases). Over a couple bridges (steps) so it was pretty exhausting for 4 people over 60, then it was up the stairs. But Anthony was very helpful, cheerful, and patient. Water taxi to the airport will cost 130E. Clothes wash is a bit different and will be a challenge for most Americans. Air works good but none are in the bedrooms so you have to sleep with the doors open. A simple fix would be a fan for each room. Balcony is too small to actually sit down (chairs are a bit suspect). No English on TV. When you come back from a full day it would be nice to just chill with a little news in English.

Dear Guest, thank u for your positive Review. In order not to deceive the reader: closest waterbus stop is just 1 min walking from the part (Celestia stop) no bridges, and the one usually used for arrivals (just to show guests where is the market, shops and else) is 5-7 min. walking (Ospedale) and just 1 bridge (yes there are canals and consequently bridges in Venice). I guess u get off at the wrong stop? Yes Amaryllis is an easy (European) 1st floor, single private entrance just one flight of stairs with handrail, the easiest access u can have in Venice (due to humidity and"acqua alta" ground floor is not suitable, due to ancient protected buildings really few lifts). Yes Venice is pretty different by your place of origin.
Again thank u for your positive Review.

Why they chose this property
It was my wife's apart when she was a student. We completely renovated it in late 2017, now it is excellent. The area is considered on of the last genuine parts of Venice.
What makes this property unique
A genuine bite of Venice. Still genuine, intresting, comfortable for visiting but no massive touristic area. Extremely quiet easy (European) 1st floor apart with single private entrance. Brand new apart, minty and sophisticated features. Full new equipement. Easy access from/to every Town's terminal (direct from airport/train station). Non touristic shops (market, bakery, grocery etc..) and restaurants at short walking distance. A table can be set behind apart's balcony, in the small no exit campiello facing the water, agreable. Amaryllis also proposes a nice balcony facing a pictoresque original “Campiello” (small Venetian square) with its typical archway allowing access to the water (guests can directly arrive/leave by water taxi), a comfortable single entrance (just 1 flight of stairs) with private atrium used as checkroom and coat/shoes deposit. Unlike most of Venetian aparts (facing narrow pedestrian "calli" or canals) due to the front small square Amaryllis is a bright and rightly sunny accomodation, fresh during summer (fully air-conditoned) and warm during cold seasons (powerful autonomous heating). The small Calle and Campiello are no exit, so no passage, no noise, bright daylight and extreme quietness. We are sure u will appreciate this genuine and rare bite of Venice. .
