A recently re-furbished late Edwardian detached French Catalan Villa in the beautiful spa town of Vernet Les Bains. The Villa is bright and airy with modern facilities yet retaining many of the original period features. Set on a lovely quiet elevated plot over looking the village with excellent views of the mountains and beyond. The town centre is only 2 minutes walk where you will find many Boulangeries, Restaurants, Shops and an open air swimming pool. The Villa is 100m2 on a 500m2 garden. Bed linen and towels are included in the price.

Nice house, good location

We found the house to suit our needs, its well positioned, couple of minutes walk to the town centre and good access to the countryside and attractions in the area. The house was clean but just needs a little tlc here and there. Overall a nice house and good value.

Location qui se veut charmante mais qui est vétuste

Toilettes avec réservoir haut ne permettant pas d’évacuer les matières correctement. Baignoire très ancienne avec écoulement de l’eau moyen et douchette entartrée.Housses de matelas déjà utilisées couettes tachées. Sèche linge,pelle, égouttoir à vaisselle cassés. Tv hors service. Il faudrait rénover les sanitaires, équiper correctement la cuisine ( seulement une marmite de taille moyenne pour soit disant une maison pour 9 personnes) aucun couvercle Toiles d’araignées bien en place ( peut-être une déco spéciale Halloween ?) dommage quand on fait systématiquement payer le ménage ! Les anglais qui proposent des biens à louer en France, aux français devraient communiquer en français surtout quand ils ne le font que par sms ( que penseraient ils de l’inverse?) Heureusement nous avions Vernet pour nous adoucir tout ça.

Une aération préalable aurait été nécessaire.C'est dommage

Aucun contact sur place ce qui a causé quelques soucis pour le bon fonctionnement des appareils ménagers. Nous n'avons pas pu regarder la télé car apparemment elle ne fonctionnait pas. La maison n etait apparemment fermée depuis quelques temps et aurait méritée une bonne aération en amont

Maison familiale confortable et propre

La propriété correspondait tout à fait à nos attentes en terme de nombre de chambres et couchages. Le propriétaire avait tout récemment remis en etat les pièces (peinture). Lasalle de bain est un peu désuette mais charmante, le salon et la cuisine sont bien équipés et permettent d'etre confortablement installé. L'equipement de jardin etait appreciable aussi. Le jardin pourrait etre encore mieux entretenu. La localisation était parfaite, pas de vis a vis, à 5 min à pied du centre du village. Stationnement du vehicule de l'autre coté de la rue.

Nous aimons le charme de la maison et de l'endroit même si quelques réparations et éléments supplémentaires dans la maison seraient les bienvenus.

Logement non conforme à l annonce et sale

A l arrivée logement non nettoyé et très sale alors qu une prestation de ménage conséquente est obligatoirement retenue par le propriétaire et que l on ne demande de rendre le logement propre à la sortie. Contrairement à ce qui est indiqué dans l annonce le logement n a pas du tout été rénové on peut voir du Salpêtre et de la moisissure dans l ensemble des pièces. Il y a bien un écran TV mais aucune réception possible. Les coordonnées de l intendante sont périmées depuis 2 ans. Communication avec le propriétaire compliquée.

Cette maison a le charme de l'ancien, est calme et est décorée avec simplicité et goût même si quelques objets utilitaires complémentaires seraient nécessaires et peut-être quelques travaux d'entretien également.

Eine einzige Enttäuschung! Absolut nicht empfehlenswert!!!

Das Haus ist eine Vollkatastrophe! Die Räume sind von oben bis unten nicht nur feucht, es stinkt im ganzen Haus penetrant nach Schimmel, der in einigen Räumen (Küche und WC) auch offen an den Wänden sichtbar wird. Wir sind noch vor der ersten Übernachtung geflüchtet, da der Gestank unerträglich ist und sich auch in den Möbeln (u.a. Matratzen!!) festgesetzt hat. Lüften bringt auch nichts. Das Haus ist auch allgemein total ungepflegt. In wirklich jeder Ecke sind Spinnweben und sonstiges Ungeziefer. Richtig gereinigt wurde hier schon ewig nicht mehr. Staubschicht auf dem Sofa, dreckige Teppiche in den Fluren, Staub und Spinnweben überall, auf die Klos möchte man sich wirklich nicht setzen und bei der Badewanne bekommt man vom Hinsehen schon Fußpilz. Highlight über der Wanne ist übrigens der Original-Duschkopf von 1875... Der Garten ist total ungepflegt und verwahrlost. Nicht mal draußen macht der Aufenthalt Spaß. Der Vermieter weilt währenddessen im fernen England und ist genau wie sein Housekeeper am Anreisetag telefonisch natürlich nicht erreichbar. Übrigens ist der Vermieter Fotograf und hat das Haus auch wirklich toll in Szene gesetzt. Die Realität sieht nur leider komplett anders aus. Eine Erstattung haben wir für die Woche natürlich so kurzfristig nicht mehr bekommen. Der Vermieter versteht gar nicht warum uns das alles nicht gefällt, wo doch sein Housekeeper einen Tag nach unserer überstürzten Abreise alles in bester Ordnung und Sauberkeit vorgefunden hat... Naja, Pech gehabt. Aber Gesundheit geht vor. Ich sehe das mal als Spende für unsere vom Brexit gebeutelten Nachbarn. Und wie man an dieser baufälligen und sanierungsbedürftigen "Villa" sieht, scheinen sie es ja auch dringend nötig zu haben. Der Übernachtungspreis für dieses Objekt ist schlichtweg eine Frechheit. Eigentlich dürfte eine Übwrnachtung nicht mal zugelassen sein bei diesem lungenverätzenden Gestank! Der Vermieter wird bestimmt auf seine 5-Sterne- Vewertung verweisen, die zufällig kurz vor unserer Anmietung auf Airbnb für ihn vergeben wurde. Zufällig von einer Dame, die nur 30 Autominuten (!) von dort entfernt in Perpignan wohnt. Zufälle gibt's... Ach ja, auf so modernen Schnickschnack wie WLAN, Fernsehempfang oder eine Waschmaschine muss man bei dem Preis natürlich auch verzichten. Selbst reinigen muss man trotz Reinigungsgebühr auch (wird man extra vor Anreise schriftlich drauf hingewiesen). Wir fühlen uns betrogen und können nur jedem von einer Buchung abraten!!!

Très belle région - Maison très moyenne

Très belle région avec des coups de cœur. Village convivial. Il a juste fallu nous faire aux 3 carillons des églises sonnant tous les 1/4h, 1/2h et heure, même la nuit. Maison spacieuse décorée avec goût, située légèrement en hauteur. Malheureusement à notre arrivée, la propreté faisait cruellement défaut. De plus, un dégât des eaux sans doute récent rendait les murs "tachés" et une odeur prenante était présente au rez-de-chaussée et dans la salle de bain à l'étage (heureusement il faisait beau et donc les portes et fenêtres étaient ouvertes). Manque quelques ustensiles de cuisine comme une essoreuse à salade ou des coussins pour les chaises longues dehors. Manque de précision dans le descriptif de la location par rapport à la réalité. Bon à savoir : pas de parking privé mais public à quelques mètres de la maison, volée d'escaliers à monter avec les valises et courses, pas de télévision (juste l'appareil) puis à vous d'utiliser votre 4G pour avoir les chaines UK ou films, le linge de lit et de maison sont non fournis comme indiqué mais en option supplément et malgré un forfait nettoyage comptabilisé à la réservation pour le nettoyage, il vous est demandé de laisser la maison propre en partant.

Maison très agréable et bien située. Le matériel de cuisine est un peu juste.

Accueil à distance bien effectué et agréable. Jolie maison au calme et en plein centre. Les seuls points à mentionner serait le lit un peu mou mais c’est une question de goût et par exemple l’ajout d’un grille pain serait sympa.

Schönes, großzügiges Haus in guter Lage

Wir haben eine schöne Woche zu viert in Vernet-les-Bains verbracht. Das Ferienhaus liegt nahe des hübschen Zentrums, Geschäfte des täglichen Bedarfs sind in unmittelbarer Nähe. Das Haus ist groß, gut aufgeteilt und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Außengelände lädt zum Draußensitzen und Entspannen ein, für Ballspiele ist es nicht geeignet. Die Küche ist (mit einigen kleinen Mängeln) gut ausgestattet und sehr geräumig. Da wir auch verregnetet Abende hatten, kam uns die Möglichkeit, im gemütlichen Wohnzimmer aus etlichen aktuellen englischsprachigen Filmen auswählen zu können, sehr entgegen. Wir haben uns insgesamt sehr wohlgefühlt, hätten uns aber über modernisierte Badezimmer gefreut. Da der sehr freundliche und gut zu kontaktierende Vermieter momentan den Garten neu zu gestalten scheint, gehen wir davon aus, dass auch der Bereich rechts des Hauses, der an eine Mauer zum höhergelegenen Nachbargrundstück liegt und etwas verwahrlost scheint, demnächst aufgeräumt wird. Insgesamt ist das Haus aber zu empfehlen und der Blick aus den Fenstern auf die umliegenden Berge und Sonnenuntergänge traumhaft!

I fell in love with this unique part of France about ten years ago. I have spent the last 5 years looking for the perfect property, finally settling for the beautiful spa town of Vernet Les Bains. The Villa we found was old and unrestored but with loads of character and potential! Now completely restored we are happy to let others share the pleasure of this villa and beautiful historic town.
