About this property
Villa Marchelina Grubine - Beautiful stone villa with 2 pools
Villa Marchelina, beautiful stone villa with 2 pools - located in Grubine, in intact piece of Dalmatia, near the town of Imotski (Hinterland). It's completely made of stone and can accommodate 12 people. It has everything that you need for perfect holiday in peace and quiet.
Pool with comfortable pool beds and parasols. Pool for kids - NEW. Villa is kids friendly with big playground for them (trampoline, swings, slides, ball, etc).
Villa Marchelina is located in the geographical and historical region of Dalmatia known as "Dalmatian hinterland". Although Dalmatia is established as a tourist flower of the Mediterranean, this part of Dalmatia didn't hit the so-called flood of mass tourism, which brings some negative effects such as excessive accumulation of concreting space or accumulation of accommodation and offer, which has elements of kitsch. Therefore, it is quite logical that the foreign tourists have discovered this intact piece of Dalmatia and it's always pleasant surprise.
Villa Marchelina is placed in this untouched piece of Dalmatia, near the town of Imotski, known for its natural beauty, tangible and intangible cultural heritage and other characteristics. Only 7 kilometers from the house there are two famous lakes, Blue and Red (Red Lake is the deepest lake in Europe and second in the world after Lake Baikal in Russia). Between lakes and villa Marchelina you can find karst fields with river Vrljika and other natural beauties of Mediterranean flora and fauna. This area is characterized by excellent positioning, so that the house is very near the famous tourist destinations like:
- an hour drive to Split, Trogir, Medjugorje, Mostar (border with Bosnia and Herzegovina is only twenty kilometers),
- two hours drive from Dubrovnik and Zadar
- half an hour driving to the Makarska
- to the amazing beaches of Makarska Riviera is a mere twenty minutes (trough the tunnel St. Ilija - mountain of Biokovo)
Transport connections are excellent because the villa leads to the state road, which is only ten kilometers to the south-west connecting the main state highway.
The villa was built thirty years ago and it's entirely, manual and intellectual, work of a family that is woven into it all their effort and knowledge. The owner of the villa is an artist, a painter and sculptor, a lover of stone heritage, who with the help of his wife and children (who have inherited the same artistic line) for years have built a house and edited the corresponding space, incorporating in it all of them self's. Each part of the villa, from its stone casing, outside decorations, its interior decoration, to the environment bears the stamp of the manual labor of the family.
Technically villa is divided into three parts. 1st part is residential area. It makes the main building which has a closed garage and cellar. The ground floor has living space with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, and it's almost entirely decorated with handmade furniture and it has lots of art works and other interesting details (carved stone windows, art nouveau chandeliers older than 120 years etc.). On the ground floor of villa we have family library with more than 3500 books. Located on the 1st floor of main residential area it's a modern two-bedroom apartment with a large terrace overlooking the entire property.
The special part of the villa, the 2nd part of villa, is the small one room house, separated from the main house by the lawn. That small house is built entirely of local stone (including the roof) because the goal was to create a building that will follow the architectural heritage of the "Mediterranean as it once was".
Entire property have more than 4.000 square meters of landscaped land, with a large parking lot, lawns, fountain, pond made of natural stone, orchards,, space for table tennis and other sports like darts.
Special attention was paid to the pool and the environment around the pool. In addition to the arbor and large space for sunbathing and relaxing on a stone beach around the pool, we have a large grass area by the pool, which is used for recreation and play, adults and children, and includes a tent, a house for the kids, swings, trampoline, slide, goal, etc.
Since the whole villa is trying to fit in with the natural environment and live in harmony with it, our family will always edit living space in order to further illustrate the maximum value of the villa witch is peace that is woven into the very essence of villa Marchelina.
Just peace and idyllic natural surroundings provide a contrast today's busy world, and this is the main guiding principle of the villa Marchelina in its intention to make your holiday a real holiday.
