City Centre Apartment | Temple Bar | Dublin Castle
Fantastic, top-floor, two-bedroom apartment in a beautiful, old building in the very, very heart of Dublin City. Dublin City is quite literally at your fingertips! This is the best located Airbnb listing in Dublin - and that's no exaggeration. Top-floor, TWO-BEDROOM apartment in an Edwardian building right in the heart of Dublin city's old historic centre. It has unique won't-find-anywhere-else views of Dublin Castle and City Hall, two of Dublin's most iconic historic landmarks. The building is on Dame Street in Dublin 2, and is just a couple of minutes (or less) walk from all of Dublin's historic, cultural, social and tourist attractions. The apartment is full of history, tradition and character. It occupies the top floor of an old Edwardian building, located midway along Dame Street, which links Trinity College to Christ Church Cathedral. As well as views over Dublin Castle and Dublin City Hall from the living room and one bedroom, the other bedroom looks west towards Christ Church Cathedral. Where else would you get it? The apartment has been completely renovated in recent years (so has all the modern conveniences you could want, including fast WiFi internet connection, central heating, an electric shower and a fully-fitted kitchen), its original period features have been preserved (including solid oak wood flooring in the living room and bedrooms, granite stone flooring and a wonderful Belfast sink in the kitchen, and large sash windows in every room). It has two bedrooms (one with a double bed, the other with two single beds), a decent-sized living room with a kitchen off and a bathroom. Every room has large sash windows characteristic of the Edwardian era (early 1900s), so the apartment is full of natural light (if you're lucky, sunshine too!) from early in the morning until late in the evening. Everything you might need (bed linen, towels and kitchen items) is provided, as well as a small library of books on Dublin. Free 30Mb Wifi. You have access to everything and everywhere - it's all yours. I'll meet you when you arrive to say hello, give you keys, show you around the apartment, tell you what's what in the area and answer any questions. After that, if you need anything or have any questions, you can phone or email me. Always available and happy to help! Have a glance at a map of Dublin and you'll see that Dame Street is right in the centre of everything that Dublin has to offer. Trinity College is at one end of Dame Street (3 minute walk from the apartment) and Christ Church Cathedral is at the other (2 minute walk in the other direction). On one side is Dublin Castle and City Hall, and on the other is Temple Bar. All other notable parts of the city – such as Grafton Street area, St Stephens Green, Merrion Square, O'Connell Street – are within a 10-15 minute walk. As well as being immersed in Dublin's history and culture, you're surrounded by the best cafes, restaurants, pubs and shopping in Dublin. One of the things that previous guests have all remarked on is that they didn't need to use public transport at all - no buses, no trains, no taxis. Very genuinely, you can walk anywhere in the city centre within a matter of minutes. Dublin City is quite literally on your doorstep! However, if you want to travel further afield, there are 3 taxi ranks on Dame Street itself (mere seconds away); there's a Dublin Bikes station across the street; dozens of bus routes within 50 metres; Jervis LUAS (tram) station is 5 minutes walk, and Stephen's Green LUAS (tram) station is 8 minutes walk; and Tara Street and Pearse Street DART (train) stations are both less than 10 minutes walk. If you're looking to travel out of Dublin, you can be in Connolly Station, Heuston Station or Busaras within 10-15 minutes. It's also a 2 minute walk from the Aircoach's Trinity College/College Green stop (Aircoach is an express airport-to-city bus service, which runs every 10 minutes and will get you to or from the airport in just 20 minutes). Standard check-in is at any arranged time between 3pm and 8pm. Because I can't personally do a check-in after 8pm, check-ins after 8pm are subject to a €50 fee to cover the cost of paying someone to meet you. Check-ins cannot be before 9.30am. Standard check-out is before 10am on the day of departure. If you're arriving into Dublin very early in the morning or departing late in the day, please consider the 3pm check-in time/10am check-out time before booking. Unfortunately, there is no luggage storage facility in the building. For those who need to store luggage before check-in or after check-out, I recommend Tourist Office Dublin (almost directly opp. the Front Gate of Trinity College Dublin at 37 College Green, Dublin 2, which is a 2 minute walk from the apartment). They'll store luggage here in a secure lock-up for a small fee. Please also consider that this apartment is in the very heart of Dublin City. Genuinely, its location can't be exaggerated - you won't find a better located listing on Airbnb. There are hundreds of positives to this, but there a couple of negatives too: for one, there is no parking in the building (but if you're likely to need parking, let me know and I'll tell you the various options). Also, you have to expect that such a central location won't be exactly tranquil - there'll be the usual 'sounds of the city' and there's nothing anyone can do about it, I'm afraid! If this is likely to be an issue for you, let's talk about it before you book.

We stayed here in early September at the start of our 3 week tour of Ireland, it has a great location and very walkable to places like Jamesons, Guinness Storehouse, and Temple Bar. Lots of coffee, pastries, pubs, etc nearby. Would stay here again if in the area.
Great, comfy, clean and in prime tourist location. If the coffee machine was working I would have given 5 stars! The early check-in was really appreciated.
Outstanding location. Right in the heart of Dublin. Walkable to everything you want to see. Right across from the castle. A fantastic city flat. And very safe.
We had a lovely time. Apartment’s location could not be better, and it was perfect for our family of four. If you are sensitive to city noise, bring ear plugs! The bars close at 3am and it can be quite loud.
The property is exactly as pictured and the owner is great to work with. He proactively reached out to us to arrange for check in prior to our departure from home and was easy to communicate with when our arrival ran late. The unit is, clean, well supplied and "kitchy" as would be expected in an older building. It has all of the necessities and is in walking distance to all that Dublin has to offer. We would definitely stay here again.

We didn’t even stay. The place is very run down. No towel bars, no toilet tissue holder, seedy towels. The floors are scratched and worn with gaps where the floorboards not longer meet. The skylight was covered in cobwebs and dust.We have used VRBO many times but this place is absolutely unacceptable.
Thank you so much Garrett for this amazing experience. We were in the heart of all of the action, staying above a local shop. We were able to cook eggs for breakfast, sleep in separate bedrooms, eat together at the table, lounge on the couch - and the best part was the people watching and convenient location. Walking distance from so many fun things. Highly recommended!
This apartment is in a great location central to everything you would want to do in Dublin. We walked to the Guinness Storhouse, Trinity College, Christ Church Cathedral, etc. everything was right there. Inside was very clean and had everything we needed. As others have said it is noisy outside the apartment, but we were able to sleep for sure. The host commented everything thoroughly prior to check in so everything was perfect and we easily got in when we arrived. Highly recommend this place for a stay in Dublin!Cheers!
We had a wonderful stay at Garrett's place for 3 nights! The apartment is in a fantastic location, right near the best restaurants in Temple Bar, and everything (including Grafton Street) is within walking distance. Check-in was super easy, communication with Garrett was great, and we had everything we needed during our stay. We'd highly recommend this location to anyone regardless of how long the stay - we hope to come back soon!
The location was excellent. Close to bars and restaurants and many major sites. Having the washer/dryer was very helpful. Plenty of room to spread out.
We had a wonderful stay at this city center apartment! From the start, communication with the host was excellent—friendly, responsive, and helpful every step of the way. The accommodations themselves were clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, providing everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The location truly can’t be beat—right in the heart of Dublin’s Temple Bar area with incredible access to restaurants, shops, and historic sites, all just steps away. Being able to walk everywhere made exploring the city so easy and enjoyable. As expected with such a prime location, there was some street noise at night from the busy area, but it’s a fair trade-off for being in the center of all the action. Overall, this apartment was a perfect home base for our Dublin adventure, and we would absolutely stay here again!
The apartment location allowed us to explore Dublin on foot. We were able to walk to almost everything on our list, taking in the neighborhoods and parks as we went. The accommodations also provided enough room for a family of introverts (parents and teenagers) to find their own space when needed.
We stayed 3 days, which was a quick visit, but I promise this location was PERFECT! We walked just about everywhere and saw as much as we could in the allotted time. The neighborhood is a little loud, but that is to be expected in a city apartment. Would definitely stay again if we are in Dublin.

A native Dubliner back living in Dublin after stints in New York, London and the West of Ireland. Fond of travelling but always happy to get back to Dublin. The apartment I have listed is right in the very centre of Dublin City - very genuinely, it couldn't be any more central; the centre of the centre, if you like.
