We had a wonderful stay at Susan and Ben's cottage in Fishers Landing. We rented a boat and enjoyed being able to dock it right outside the house. The cottage was very clean with everything needed for a great stay. Loved sitting on the porch and watching the boats go by. We would certainly recommend!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and we’re very comfortable here. There is nothing like being on this beautiful river! Thank you for your kind review.
We fell in love with it the minute we got there! It was immaculate, spacious, comfortable, and nicely decorated- it couldn't have been any cleaner! We ate several meals out on the big, covered deck, and enjoyed the awesome views and watching the ships go by sitting by the dock! We will definitely stay there again next time we come to the 1,000 Islands!

Thank you so much for your kind words, Wendy. We are just so pleased that you enjoyed yourselves and were very comfortable here. We love hosting to families who have returned to the river to make some great new memories together.
Everything about the cottage and dock were as described. The views were great, quiet, relaxing. The wineries were very good, and the fishing off of the dock was great, we caught perch, catfish, large and small mouth bass. Location was perfect right between downtown Clayton and Alex bay. Susan and Ben responded quickly if we had a question. I would recommend this cottage.

Thank you! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and had great luck fishing. Looking forward to your return...the fish will be waiting! :)
This house was beautiful, it was perfect for our family of 4. The view of the river was stunning. It ’s an excellent location. Close to A Bay, Clayton and Wellesley island. Plenty to do and see but also so relaxing just to sit on the dock and watch the big shipping boats go by. We loved every minute we were there and we’d love to come back someday. Thank you Ben and Susan for being such lovely hosts.

Thank you for your lovely words. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and were able to take advantage of what the other area towns have to offer. Just relaxing by the river and making memories with your family is what it's all about. We'd love to have you back! Thank you again.
The location is absolutely mind blowing - you are on the St Lawrence River so coffee on the dock is a reality. There is a wonderful porch when the sun on the dock gets warm where you can continue to watch the boats and ships go by. The home is beyond clean, super organized and very, very comfortable. The hosts are super responsive. I almost hate writing this review cause selfishly I wld like to keep this VRBO a secret. Lol!!

Thank you for your kind review, Elizabeth. We are so glad you enjoyed the cottage- the dock and porch, especially. We enjoyed having you as guests and look forward to your return. You are welcome anytime!
We enjoyed our stay at this property. It was very clean, and had all the amenities listed. One thing though, we docked our boat for a few hours each day while we came back to eat, relax, etc. It was very choppy in that area due to the restaurant being right next door. We had 4 very large fenders and it still got beat up on. The dock really needs whips to keep your boat there without getting beat up by the waves :( Otherwise, everything was amazing!!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and the cleanliness and amenities of the cottage. Thank you for your note in the guest book. We loved reading about all the fish, especially the northern pike & walleye, that your son caught right off the dock and near the channel! So exciting! Unfortunately, the water was definitely more choppy than usual while you were here due to the remnants of Hurricane Debbie coming through. The waves can pick up from 4-8 pm due to the boat traffic for the restaurant 2 doors down, so yes, fenders are always a good idea here even though this is technically a "No Wake Zone". (We opt out of providing whips as they can be a trip hazzard on the dock.) Thank you again for your review! So glad you enjoyed your stay. :)
View of the river before entering the house confirmed a great choice to spend a week, then entered the house and everything promised was delivered. The kitchen has everything needed-great appliances to an array of wonderful spices. The Great Room looks out over the porch which looks out over the St. Lawrence, many afternoons and evenings spent on the porch watching the ships and boats going by, so tranquil. Travel to Clayton, Alexandria Bay, and many other great areas within 30 minutes. Cleanliness and attention to detail superb.

Thank you so much! We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to hosting you again if you ever return to the river. :)
The property is just as described by the owners. We felt right at home once we settled in. The living room is cozy and comfortable and our group of four found spots to claim on the furniture after a long day of 'touristing'.
There were places for our clothing on hangers and in drawers in the bedrooms, but we needed to be creative with the then-empty cases as there is no main closet. I didn't find it to be an issue as my family packs light, but it would help for someone who must bring a lot to have nesting suitcases.
The views from the porch or the dockside are relaxing, and it was amazing to see the large ships glide by silently across the river. Having a covered porch was a bonus as we had one rainy day that we could still be outside but dry.
The washer and dryer were full-sized; much nicer and convenient than the combo machines we've used in other homes.
There is plenty to do in the neighboring towns and many good places to eat. I've got to shout out; O'Briens and River Bottom Bar and Grill in Clayton and Riley's by the River in Alexandria Bay. The restaurant next door, Foxy's, was a great option one evening.
On top of a nice place, the people we met on the road or working in establishments were welcoming, which made this trip even better.
Definitely a place I'd consider on my 'return' list!
Great place to stay with everything you need to relax & enjoy your time on the river. Spectacular view. Conveniently located between Clayton & Alexandria Bay.
A great location convenient to all areas of the Lake Ontario/St Lawrence River region. The cabin was superbly equipped and well maintained with amenities beyond the norm experienced elsewhere. It is evident the owners utilize the cabin themselves and thus well understand the needs and requirements that most visitors need and prefer. Commnication and interaction with the owners was great and they expressed an interest in ensuring the visit was going well several times. Information provided was accurate and well-conceived focused on providing guests the best possible experience. This is a truly wonderful guest cabin and is highly recommended,
The house was charming and had everything we could need. The backyard was pristine and you cannot beat the view from the lovely patio and lake dock.
My week started with a girlfriend getaway for a few days and ended with my husband and two teenage sons replacing my girlfriends mid week. The fishing spot is great; my son caught a host of fish Every night and watching the boats was fun.
A short drive to Wellesley Point Stare park which had amazing hikes, beach and water sports. A 45 minute drive Robert Whele State Park for the incredible Snakefoot trail where you hike along the coast of Lake Ontario.
Clayton is ten minutes away to great waterfront places to eat, shop and hit the Coyote Winery for tastings.
Susan and Ben were fantastic hosts and were very responsive all the time.
If your looking to rent or being a boat would recommend downloading a nautical App to understand the shoals and islands under water as the water was 2-3 feet lower than usual.
Highly recommend this home and area.
Being on the river was an amazing few days for us, but what made it even better was the cottage we rented. The location and every detail of the cottage made it the perfect place to relax and spend time with family.

About the host
Hosted by J. Ben and Susan Primicias
Hello! We are Ben & Susan Primicias and we'd like to welcome you to the St. Lawrence River! We live just 25 minutes away in Watertown, N.Y. and come to the river as often as we can. It is a beautiful place to relax, play, meet new people or just enjoy the peace and tranquility of the river.
Why they chose this property
Our property is located In Fisher's Landing, NY in the town of Orleans. We are situated half way between Alexandria Bay and Clayton, two amazing little "gems" tucked away in the heart of the 1000 Islands. We love this property because it sits right at the water's edge, it is clean and beautiful and ever changing. The wild-life, fishing and ships are amazing and captivating. Sitting on the patio is the most peaceful place to be in the early morning hours as the fog lifts, drift fisherman float by, and fish jump right in front of you. It just never gets old!
What makes this property unique
We had this cottage remodeled after we purchased it in 2013. We had the ceiling raised, installed new floors, windows, granite countertops, and bathrooms. We added a driveway, sidewalk and stone wainscoting around the cottage. The open floor plan allows you see everything that happening on the river at anytime. We installed new curtains for privacy which added to the coziness of the cottage as well as central air and heat. The spacious front porch is like having an additional room to entertain. It affords a full view of ships and boats in the channel and the perfect place to watch the spectacular river sunsets.
