About this property

Shepherd's Hut heaven - a cosy retreat with kitchen and bathroom!

Duck Hut is an amazing space, cleverly and beautifully designed with everything you could wish for in a romantic break for two.

Sitting in its own pretty and private garden, Duck Hut has everything you need for your stay. There’s a fully equipped kitchen with hob, sink, fridge and microwave and space for four to dine together. At night enjoy pulling down your full sized, comfortable double bed and rest assured there’s a shower and loo too.

There’s also a woodburner too with logs provided, perfect for those cosy winter nights. All the crockery and linen is beautifully designed, and completes the homely style of this charming cabin.

Outside there is garden furniture so you can sit out in the sunshine or watch the stars at night. If you’re feeling adventurous why not cook al fresco?

Duck Hut is located in a lovely rural village on a small lane, in Church Farm's garden. And if you can tear yourself away from the tranquility of Church Farm, Compton Dundon has a village pub within walking distance for a meal out and is well placed for visiting a host of attractions. Glastonbury with its world famous festival and magnificent abbey is only a ten minute drive away.
The medieval city of Wells with its historic walls and spectacular cathedral is under half an hour away or spend your days visiting Bath, Bristol, the Somerset Levels, the Quantock Hills, Somerset and Devon's coastline, the beautiful Blackdown Hills, Bath's impressive Roman City and Exmoor National Park.

The sandy beach at Burnham on Sea is only half an hour away and Cheddar Gorge and caves are only a little further. Fleet Air Arm Museum is another popular attraction, as are the National Trust properties of Montacute, Stourhead and Lytes Cary to name a few. There are numerous and beautiful walks to be had from the farm too.

Shepherd Hut
All good. Excellent couple of days. Probably should have spent an extra day. Probably come back in January to see how comfortable it is when cold and dark.

Delightful Duck Hut Experience
Both photos and write-up matched perfectly - so no let down on arrival. Host was very friendly and informative; around should we need anything. The hut itself was beautifully cute and quaint, with all trimmings and amenities to a high standard. Both inside the hut and the grounds were extremely clean, tidy and well-maintained. It was the perfect weekend retreat to escape the rat-race. We’d highly recommend to anyone.
