5*Luxury Coach House, nr Wells. Peaceful idyllic village. Walk to fab nearby pub
Many of our 5 star reviews have highlighted how relaxing it is staying at the Coach House. If you need a peaceful break away from it all then this is the place.
The detached, stone built Coach House has been recently and beautifully converted and provides that perfect peaceful and relaxing break, much needed at this time of the year. Keeping as many of the features as possible, pretty windows, white washed walls and beams, the beautiful Coach House retains charm but combines convenience and luxury.
It has underfloor heating throughout, with dimmable lighting allowing you to set the mood, cosy or bright and airy. It sleeps 2 with a gorgeous king-size bed, beautiful chandelier and soft white bed linen in a large bedroom. The fresh, contemporary en-suite has a large walk-in shower and soft fluffy towels.
The property has a separate lounge, (who says a place for two should compromise on space), complimented by Smart TV, DVD and of course, WiFi. The spacious, designer farmhouse kitchen has a dishwasher, induction hob, oven, fridge, toaster, microwave and digital radio. There is enough pots and pans for those who like to spend time cooking and enough crockery etc to cater for 4. When the sun shines why not use the private garden for a bit of alfreso dining.
The Coach House is 2 miles from Wells and a great place from which to explore Bath or Bristol, for shopping, entertainment and culture. Visit unique Glastonbury with its Tor or quirky Frome with its great independent market (on the first Sunday of the month, March - December). Don't forget Wells with its magnificent Cathedral, independent shops and coffee houses. The local pub has again won the Bath CAMRA Rural pub of the year 2015. We provide a torch so you can walk the 15 minutes it takes to sample the beer and fabulous food and then get home again in the dark! Most of our guest have taken up this opportunity.
Dinder nestles on the southern slopes of the Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is one of England's most special places. A great place to relax or take in the scenery with a plethora of walks or cycle rides. For those keen on golf there are two Golf courses within 3 miles of the Coach House.
We are in a great location for parents visiting 'boarders' at the following schools: Millfield Prep (15 mins), Millfield (20 mins), Downside School (15 mins), Wells Cathedral School (5 mins), All Hallows Prep (15 mins).
The following local attractions are also nearby: Bath & West Showground, Wookey Hole Caves, Glastonbury Festival Site, Kilver Court Designer Village and the Mulberry Factory Shop. Bath and Bristol are both a 45 minute drive away.
All in all, a great place to stay.

Great location and place to stay . All the amenities you need and lots of peace and quiet. Not too far to travel for things to do and see. Would recommend.
I would highly recommend this property, very cosy ,very comfortable and excellent value..very tastefully decorated with an extremely comfortable bed...lovely host to welcome you..will book again if in the area.
We had a very relaxing Twixmas break at the coach house in Dinder. Good location to explore the local area and the accommodation was very nice, perfect for a couple.
Highly recommend the George Inn local pub for food (including very good Gluten Free options).
We enjoyed a weeks stay in the Coach House. The accommodation was spacious enough for the two of us. It’s on a peaceful setting, very comfortable and had all the conveniences you would expect from a holiday home. The Coach House is ideally located to enjoy the city of Wells and many of the local walks. Highly recommended.
The Coach House is a great place to stay, only a few minutes drive to Wells. It is quiet and well equipped. Plenty of room with a comfortable bed and a good shower. The laundry facilities are in the barn next door.
Rachel's property was super clean and well stocked. Every amenity one could need. The design of the coach house was innovative and functional. Excellent location but in a quiet village nearby to Wells. Comfortable bed and great shower.
Rachel was responsive to our every need and helpful as to recommendations for nearby activities and restaurants, etc.
Recommend highly!
Great property and location, it was ideal for visiting Glastonbury Tor and the surrounding area with a fantastic country walk including a nature reserve straight from the front door, would recommend for a stay in the Wells and Glastonbury area. *****
The cottage was everything you would want for a break. It was clean and comfortable, well equipped including large fluffy towels! It was good to have an outside space in which to enjoy the sun. Communication was good.
The cottage was well located, within walking distance of Wells (across fields) and a short drive to other places of interest, such as Cheddar, Wookey Hole caves, Glastonbury Tor and the Clarks retail outlet village.
Located in a pretty, tiny, quiet village a couple of miles south of Wells. Which can be walked to across footpaths in about 40 minutes. A great location for touring Somerset and the Mendips The listings describe the cottage accurately, it is spotlessly clean, and the owners have made every effort to ensure cleaning between rentals meets Covid requirements. We. Would have no hesitation in staying again if in the area.

Beautiful property and lovely touches
Had a fantastic three night break here, two of us with our 15 week old son. It was so peaceful and just what we needed. The Old Coach House has everything you need and more besides, the welcome pack of home made flapjacks, local cider, milk and butter was a really nice touch too. The place was clean and well appointed, having access to wifi and Netflix was excellent. We walked into Wells for a tasty lunch at the Square Edge cafe and a mooch around the market. Sunday lunch and a pint at The George in Croscombe was also just a short walk from the house (we recommend the puddings). All in all, a relaxing place to stay in a beautiful part of the world.

Thank you for such a lovely review. It was a pleasure to have you to stay and I hope we see you again soon. Regards

Lovely cottage for 2 and in such a great location we couldn’t have been better placed for our week in Somerset.
Had a problem initially which Andrew resolved very quickly, thereafter all was good. The WiFi was very good if that is important to you. Underfloor heating throughout was lovely, it was especially nice to have the kitchen separate from the lounge area and the sofa and chair made for comfy relaxing evenings.
We parked the car on arrival and subsequently walked from the cottage and/or took the very good public transport to Wells, Glastonbury, Bath and the Clarke’s Village in Street which was a lovely relaxed means to see the surrounding area and villages without having concerns about parking and traffic.
You can walk straight out of the cottage across fields and tracks, it was under 2 miles into Wells and the East Mendip Way is on the doorstep too for those who want more strenuous hiking.
There was much more in the area to see and we would be happy to return to The Coach House again.
The Coach House is absolutely lovely, comfortable and well -equipped - and Dinder is an extremely picturesque village. We loved our five days here and it's a great place to explore the area from. The weather was extreme but the coach house coped with it all - beautifully cool during the boiling hot days and wonderfully cosy during the thunder storms! Rachel is an extremely good host - on hand when you needed her, but mindful of our privacy too. We really enjoyed our stay.
The Coach House is very well equipped and comfortable. It is a stone property, so it's cool inside in hot weather. The village is quiet and handily
placed for visiting Wells and the surrounding area.
Lovely village location to stay in. Easy access to local amenities. Friendly hosts. Everything you might need. I would suggest a catch on the window in the bedroom, open or closed and it catches the wind! Would also suggest checking the toilet cistern in bathroom as it ran continuously for our stay (that’s a lot of wasted water you are paying for!). Apart from that just lovely, thanks.
Beautiful cottage in a wonderful location. Everything we could've wished for for a relaxing break.
Simple and easy to book this property. Good communication with owner supplying instructions and directions. Adding little welcome touches on our arrival making it a beautiful home away from home.
We loved our stay at the Coach House. The house was beautiful, very clean, and well equipped with everything you would need. The location is perfect, very peaceful but easy to get into Wells. If you don't have a car there are buses that go into the town. There is so much to do in the area.
Rachel was very friendly and helpful, and made the checking-in process really easy. Rachel had also made extra effort to make sure the Coach House was prepared for our stay in line with the Covid requirements.
We would highly recommend the Coach House for a stay in this lovely part of the world.
Very cozy place with the modern kitchen. It is in a remote location ( a pretty rural village ) so it is very quiet.
The kitchen was very clean and spotless but the bedroom was bit dusty
We did lots of walking everyday and missed having a bath to relax coz they had only a shower. But overall this place is amazing to stay

Purchased in 2012, the conversion of the Coach House has been a labour of love. We have tried to keep the essence of the building whilst giving it a new lease of life. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
Why they chose this property
Dinder is a very special place, we have lived here for twelve years and still feel like we are on holiday, we would like you to feel the same.
The Coach House is a cosy romantic retreat set in a beautiful Somerset village. No street lights, no through traffic...... Heaven.
What makes this property unique
Cosy and warm in the winter, yet cool and bright in the Summer, this is truly your year round holiday destination. No through road or street lights, so very peaceful and you can see the stars at night.
