The townhouse was lovely – very well decorated and tasteful. It was well equipped - ideal for my short stay. The position was excellent as it was very easy access to the town which allowed you to walk to all the interesting places. Wells is also a good centre for discovering this part of Somerset.
The listing photos really do not do Lesley’s house justice. The house is really lovely and much larger than anticipated. It is spotlessly clean and fully equipped with everything one could need, from books, to games and maps and magazines. I would highly recommend this property and would definitely stay again.Thank you very much Lesley, for a fabulous stay.
The rental is within easy walling distance of all that Wells has to offer. The rental was very clean and well appointed. Parking was a bit of a challenge, the smaller the vehicle, the better.
We had a lovely time staying here. It was warm, clean and comfortable. Centrally located so easy for getting around. The host was extremely helpful and we would certainly choose to stay here again.
My wife and myself spend three nights in this lovely property, it was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.
Wells is a great little city and we would not hesitate to book with Lesley again if we were to return.
Clean, bright, comfortable, centrally located near city center. Owner was super easy to communicate with and responsive. We love it and would love to return.
Located off a quiet street that was steps away from all the things you would come to Wells for. Very clean and comfortably decorated. Kitchen supplied with pepper, sugar, instant coffee/tea but there is a supermarket within a 12 minute walking radius. Bedrooms are located up 2 12-step flights of stairs from the entrance. We slept comfortably in the beds. The bathroom on the floor with the bedrooms (The Wet Room) is a bit tricky to use but can eliminate having to go down a flight of stairs at night.I suggest that a small bar of soap in the main bath would be a nice addition for guests.
The property has everything needed for a comfortable stay. A few minutes walk to the High Street with many lovely shops. Wells Cathedral and Bishops Palace also a walk away. Highly recommended.
Perfect property in perfect location, walking distance to everywhere.
The house was so comfortable and welcoming, we actually opted to eat in twice as we wanted to take advantage of the place.
Everything you could need, so clean and the beds so comfortable.
Can't recommend this highly enough
Three close friends stayed in 2 Bishop Mews while being in a choir "in residence" at Wells Cathedral for a week in July 2024. The place was perfect - great location in central Wells, walkable to everywhere we needed to be. Clean and spacious, with the everything we needed. There is a washer for clothes but not a dryer. You will love this place!
This beautiful property is well equipped and at a great location. This is our second time and as it is just steps away from the High Street where all the action is we will be back.
The property could benefit from some shelf's in the bathrooms for your bits and bobs.
We had a really great stay in Wells. The property is in a brilliant location, right in the centre of Wells, yet still very quiet. The property itself is very comfortable and well equipped. Couldn't ask for more. The parking is tight, but if you can reverse, you'll be fine! Highly recommended.
Beautifully presented ideal spot for a family break
We spent a few nights here over half term, and were really impressed with the location, cleanliness, and attention to detail. Whilst not an enormous property, it had absolutely everything we needed and was extremely comfortably appointed. Others have mentioned the small parking space, which did take a little manoeuvring to get into with our estate car, but still doable. Would like to thank the hosts and apologise for not writing in their guest book, in the melee of packing up for departure it got forgotten, but for the record, thank you, we had a lovely time and will certainly be in touch if we need to stay in the area in future.
We had a wonderful stay in Wells. Our holiday included time in the northern region of rural England (a cottage within the Yorkshire Dales) and so the 4 days staying in the apartment in Wells provided us a totally different and delightful experience. We had rented a car which enabled us to easily travel to Wells, but once we arrived, this apartment's location enabled us to walk EVERYWHERE in the area. Grocery stores were a 5 min walk. Owner had manuals for all of the new appliances so we were able to easily use the microwave, oven, and dishwasher. Beds were quite comfortable. The 2nd floor 'shower room' wasn't ideal as the men in the group were too tall to use the facility comfortably, but having 2 bathrooms was still quite helpful and we were glad to have it. The owner responded to questions within 30 min. So much history to see, and we followed Rick Steve's travel guide to find a wonderful hike overlooking the city. We also drove to Bath for a day. And Cheddar Gorge is beautiful. All in all, a GREAT STAY!
This is one of the best holiday homes we have stayed in. It is very spacious and has everything you need. The beds and bedding are wonderful. It is in the middle of a busy city but very quiet. Wells is a lovely place and lots to see.
We had a really lovely holiday, thank you.
We loved the little house and found it very convenient BUT the parking is really a problem. The architect appears to have imagined that people only have toy cars and parking even an average sizes car is very difficult.

We recently bought this house with a view to our own occupancy in the future as we love Wells and all it has to offer. We would really like others to enjoy Wells and its surrounding areas before we move (ie retire there!)
Why they chose this property
We love this house as it is level walking distance to everything Wells has to offer. History, convenience of amenities, near open countryside, cinema. The house is in a quiet mews courtyard development.
