Local attractions include Glastonbury, Wells, Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge, Fleet Air Arm museum and a little further afield Stonehenge, Longleat, City of Bath and Weston Super Mare.
There is a National Trust walk just a few minutes by foot from the cottage doorstep. Here you will find Collard Hill, which is a conservation area for the rare Giant Blue Butterfly with adults flying mid-June until late July. Shapwick Heath National Nature Reserve and Avalon Marshes Centre with visitor information, café, craft shop, replica historic buildings, all managed by Natural England, is less than a 15 minutes car drive.
Popular with guests are the two comfortable en-suite bedrooms, but also a third downstairs shower room that can be used by sofa bed users. A camp/folding bed and bedding can also be provided on request for a child, which can be situated comfortably in the master bedroom. It is possible to situate in the second bedroom, but it will limit access to cupboards and drawers. The lounge is spacious and the heating can be set to be cosy in the coldest of months to make the cottage a welcoming environment all year round, whether using as a base to explore the area or just relax away from home.
*If sofa bed or camp/folding bed are required during your stay, please inform when making booking to ensure that linen and towels are supplied.
