About the host
Hosted by Caroline Pembro
We live just a little further up the valley, close enough to help whenever you need us, but far enough away that you can truly relax, unwind, and feel as though the cottage is your own private retreat.
Hosting has been part of our life for several years now, and it’s something we genuinely enjoy. Our aim is always the same: to make you feel comfortable, relaxed, and at home from the moment you arrive.
We’re very much “hands-off hosts” by default. We won’t interrupt your stay or expect any kind of interaction unless you’d like it. Many guests come here specifically to escape the noise and demands of everyday life, and we respect that completely.
That said, we’re always available if you need us. If you have a question about the cottage, want a recommendation for a local walk, pub, or café, or run into any sort of problem during your stay, we're more than happy to help.

Why they chose this property
The area lends itself beautifully to outdoor exploration, with plenty of walking and cycling routes directly from the door, as well as a wide range of local attractions a short drive away. We’re always happy to share local knowledge if you’d like suggestions tailored to your interests.
What makes this property unique
One of the unique features of staying here is, of course, the llamas, who are all individual characters and very much part of life here. Guests often comment how calming they are and for many people, interacting (feeding/grooming/walking) with the llamas and alpacas becomes a highlight of their stay.
The cottage is run with sustainability in mind and I am really proud that this has been recognised with our Gold Eco Tourism Award and, as most of our sustainable measures happen quietly behind the scenes, guests simply experience a warm, cosy, comfortable cottage with all the mod cons without any noticeab le reduction in comfort or quality.
