Alsatian house in the heart of the pretty little town of Barr recently renovated in a "vintage" spirit.
All amenities are within walking distance: Restaurants, Bakery / Pastry Shop, Food Stores.
A market is held on the main street every Saturday morning.

Possibility of departure for beautiful walks from the cottage (to Mont Saint Odile in particular).

Barr is ideally located halfway between Strasbourg and Colmar, on the wine route. And so is a very good base to visit: Strasbourg, Obernai, Mont Sainte Odile, The Champs du Feu, the Schirmeck Valley, Colmar, for example.
Barr is a typical Alsatian town, with its colorful houses and a little twisted, and the vineyards just behind. For a stroll, and a beautiful view of the Alsatian plain!
The tourist office is about 400 m from the cottage on foot.
It is possible to park your car for free, a little further up the street.

All the necessary is in the cottage to spend a pleasant stay.

Perfectly charming little gîte for a single or couple. Kitchen had some great basics stocked and was well equipped to cook. Ships ladder to the bedroom wouldn’t be suitable for many older people. Great location for walking into the village. Recommend bringing or renting a car to really be able to explore the beautiful villages and countryside in the Alsace region.

Nice little house, less suitable for elderly and long persons

We had an nice 1 week stay in this charming little house. The house is well situated in a quiet street in the centre of the Medieval town of Barr. The house is recently modernized and tastfully decorated, the kitchen in the basement is simple and functional, it however has a low ceiling. This and the fact that you have to take two small stairs to get into your bed on the second floor, makes the house less suitable for elderly and long travelers like me. The town of Barr is certainly worth a visit and the environment offers plenty of opportunity to make small or long walks. Straatsburg and Colmar are worth a visit too.

Die schönen Bilder trügen: FeWo trotz guter Lage so nicht zu empfehlen

Barr und seine Umgebung sind der ideale Ort für Wanderungen an der elsässischen Weinstraße, zumal wenn man ohne Auto reist (Bahnanschluss, ein paar Buslinien, gute Wandertouren direkt vom Ort aus). Die Wohnung liegt schön in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße. Sie ist auf den ersten Blick ansprechend gestaltet, war jedoch nicht sauber, der Herd mit einer Fettschicht bedeckt, die Küche sehr schlecht ausgestattet. Zwischen Töpfen und Essgeschirr ein Hundenapf, sogar noch mit Wasser, "Chaos" im Wandschrank mit den Reinigungsmitteln, ebenso in der Schublade unter dem Waschbecken in dem sehr kleinen Bad. Im März war es vor allem im Erdgeschoss sehr kalt (auch nicht vorgeheizt). Enge Holzstiegen über zwei Etagen sind mühsam und nichts für ältere Menschen, auch nicht ausreichend gesichert. Die Stühle am Esstisch waren teils sehr wacklig (Unfallgefahr!). Im 2.OG (Dachboden) können größere Personen kaum aufrecht stehen. Für Hemden etc. gab es ein paar Kleiderbügel, aber keine Stange, an der sie aufgehängt werden könnten. Gutes Leselicht gab es nicht, auch keinen "Balkon" wie in der Beschreibung ausgewiesen. Die dunkle, sehr schmale Außenfläche hinter dem Haus war (unabhängig von der Jahreszeit) schon wegen einer Baustelle nicht nutzbar. Staub und Baulärm drangen auch in unsere Wohnung. Die Wohnung ist (auch ohne Baustelle) nur etwas für den Sommer und für Menschen, die keine Ansprüche an Sauberkeit und Komfort stellen. Dabei ließe sich vieles mit wenig Aufwand verbessern.

Hallo Dietmar, Es tut mir leid, was Sie beschreiben. Für den Haushalt und die Heizung habe ich es an die Person weitergegeben, die für den Haushalt zuständig ist das ist nicht normal! Es ist ein kleines Stadthäuschen mit einem kleinen Außenbereich und einem Volumen, das aus dem 17. Jahrhundert stammt. Ich kann es nicht verbessern :( Manche sehen darin einen Charme! Und für die Arbeiten des Nachbarn konnte ich auch nichts tun :( Trotzdem freut es mich, dass Sie einen schönen Aufenthalt in Barr verbringen konnten! Vielen Dank :)

Schönes altes Häuschen in einem pittoresken Dorf.

Das kleine Haus ist schön renoviert und sehr authentisch gehalten. Alles war wie im Inserat angegeben. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter verlief sehr schnell und problemlos. Die Gegend in ist sehr schön, viele Restaurants und Geschäfte in der Nähe. Mit unserem Hund haben wir viele schöne Wanderungen in den Weinbergen und den angrenzenden Wald gemacht. Mein Mann ist etwas länger, hatte aber an einigen Stellen in das Haus Probleme mit der Höhe. Er musste oft bücken. Auch sollte man keine Probleme mit Treppen haben. Weiter war alles top. Wir kommen gerne wieder. . Auch

In einer super zentralen Lage

Wer gerne wandert und auch gern mal Essen gehen möchte, ist in Barr und in diesem Haus sehr gut aufgehoben. Die Kommunikation war unkompliziert und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Wir verbrachten eine Woche in dem sehr schönen, geschmackvoll eingerichteten Haus in zentraler Lage von Barr. Das Haus ist eins der schönsten, das wir je im Urlaub gemietet hatten. Von Barr aus lassen sich wunderschöne Wanderungen unternehmen, darüber hinaus liegt Barr sehr zentral im Elsass, so dass alle interessanten Orte in kurzer Zeit erreichbar sind. Perfektes Urlaubsdomizil!!!

Gîte charmant

Très propre, très bien aménagée, cette petite maison au coeur de la ville de Barr, nous a permis de passer un très agréable séjour. Petits commerces et très bons restaurants à proximité et un marché local le samedi matin au centre ville avec de très bons produits régionaux. Nous vous recommandons vivement ce gîte.

A sweet gite in Barr

We stayed for 1.5 weeks in this very pleasant cottage. It has a small kitchen on the ground floor, lounge and dining table on the first floor and a nice bedroom in the attic. The cottage is newly refurbished with new wooden floorboards and beams complementing the original 18th-century ones which gives it a nice atmosphere. The cottage is only a few minutes' walk from the vineyards and the dozens of well-marked trails that criss-cross the Alsace region, including the GR5 route. Barr serves well as a base to explore the region because it is quiet and pretty but also has more shops, cafes and restaurants than other towns. It is also much less touristy than other towns and is on the train network. We did not have a car and it was absolutely fine.

Agréable séjour au coeur de l'Alsace

La maison est agréable et conforme à la description, avec tout l'équipement nécessaire. Il faut juste noter l'escalier un peu raide pour monter à la chambre. Nous avons découvert la petite ville de Barr qui a beaucoup de charme. C'est un bon point de départ pour explorer la région. Ajoutons un accueil sympatique, et un grand soleil! Nous garderons d'excellents souvenirs.
