Awesome Beach House - Walk to Beach

We are located a short five-minute walk to Twin Lakes Beach, the Yacht Harbor and the iconic Crow’s Nest Restaurant and Gift Shop. This is a great scenic spot for lunch and dinner or for morning coffee and a breakfast burrito at Java Junction and El Palomar. There's no better way to start your day than with fresh air, sand in your toes and an up front view of the crashing waves. Deke’s Market located two doors down is perfect for convenience items and also has a great deli. Drive less than 10-minutes to the super cute Capitola Village beach or take the short drive to the Boardwalk and pier. Our location is excellent for family outings, sailing (Chardonnay & O'Neil), kayaking, stand-up paddling jogging, swimming, body surfing, boogie boarding, volleyball, evening bonfires, and viewing incredible sunsets.

Our remodeled 1930's beach bungalow offers 3 comfy bedrooms, 1 beautiful bath and a state of the art kitchen. The living area is open and spacious and the private backyard is great for BBQ’s, hanging out and sunbathing.

We regularly have 30 day guests such as traveling nurses and other professionals requiring a longer term stay while in Santa Cruz. This type of unit is not unusual in Santa Cruz! Garage conversions have been approved and encouraged by the City of Santa Cruz since the 1980’s as an unconventional approach to the City’s housing shortage. The house, driveway and yard are for our Vacationing Guests ONLY.

This is a great spot! It does get pretty warm in the evenings without air conditioning, but there were fans provided. Otherwise it was perfect, spotlessly clean and a great location.

Great little home and close to so much!

We’ve been coming to Twin Lakes for years. This is a great super cute little house close to the beach and amenities at the harbor, 5-8 minute walk at most. Beds were comfortable for all of us. Kitchen had all that we needed. We only saw the studio tenant once in passing. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home!

Remodeled house in Twin Lakes area

This was good place for us to stay in Santa Cruz, not far from the beach. Completely remodeled inside. Full kitchen was helpful for cooking in. We would stay here again!

This is a great house in the perfect location for visitors. The floor plan is open and the rooms are large enough to be comfortable. The decor is beachy and clean. All appliances and furnishings are modern. We really enjoyed our stay.

Sweet spot to stay

A very well-planned vacation rental within walking distance to beach and restaurants. Easy to do your own meals in the kitchen, dining area, and backyard. Small convenience store nearby. Reasonably quiet street. Very glad we found it!

Almost perfect place to stay in Santa Cruz

We loved everything about the house except the mattresses. They really need to be replaced. Besides that I would stay here every time I go to SC. Put the code for the lock box in the book for people like me who can't find the original email when they leave ;-)

Cozy, well situated beach home

Unfortunately for us, the weather conspired against our visit and it rained heavily while we were here. So, we spent most of the time inside the house and are able to report that is very comfortable to be in, even during a cold dreary winter rain. We made a lot of use of the kitchen and did not have to go out during the rain. The appliances are all very modern. The house has a nice open design and very comfortable sofas to "hang out" on. The owners are very responsive to a few minor concerns. There is a small convenience store - Deke's just two doors down (150 yards away) so if you forgot anything or need anything fresh like milk, you don't even have to drive. You just go down two doors! We walked in the evening a short walk to the Crow's Nest and had an amazing dinner. The beds are comfortable. The bathroom and kitchen are nicely updated. Our party had three people, each using one of the bedrooms, and the one bathroom was sufficient for us. The backyard looks like it would be wonderful for summer get-togethers. Parking was easy for our two cars. One car went in the driveway and we kept another car on the street because it was off-season. The house is a little difficult to locate when you first drive-in because the house number is not easily visible from the busy street, so look for Deke's sign and the home's white picket fence. Since I cook, my only suggestion to the owners is providing a couple 1-2 more additional pots and pans so guests can cook multiple dishes at once. I might also suggest providing Netflix and Hulu, it's probably cheaper than Comcast cable for both the guests and the owners. We loved the little Bose wireless speaker in the kitchen. Overall, it was a nice experience despite being stuck inside from the heavy rain. We would love to come again, hopefully during better weather.

Great place!

Close to everything. Nicely decorated. Upgraded kitchen and bath. There is an additional studio unit in the lot but it is separated by a fence. We never saw the other renter. Definitely recommend!

Wonderful home close to the beach!

We had a nice stay in this clean home in an ideal location. The home was as described and the check in and out process was very easy. This was my third time staying in this home and I would do so again.

Great For Families

My family of five (all adults) enjoyed a post-Christmas stay in this home, and it was great in every way. Clean, good deal of space, short walk to the beach, great communication with the owner, and a very short drive to downtown SC and the Boardwalk. Only one bathroom, so some coordination of timing is necessary. My only knock is that is fronts a relatively busy street, and entering/exiting the property during rush hour requires some patience. Otherwise, fantastic!

Convenient location, functional house for families

We stayed there are a family (2 adults, and a 4 and 7 y/o). The location: Overall, we loved the location. It is a 6 minute walk to the beach and there is a cute little sushi takeout place nearby. We didn't go to the convenience store but that also would have been great for emergency purchases. Walking around the marina is also a lot of fun. The beach is awesome, including the fact that there's a coffee shop and Mexican restaurant right there. We didn't get to try the Crow's Nest but it also seemed like a fun place to go. It is on a pretty busy street, so it will be noisy when you keep the windows open (which is necessary in summer, as the house gets pretty hot during the day). All in all, we liked the neighborhood, as it felt relaxed and not touristy. The house: Functional house, nice little backyard, and plenty of hot water for 4 people showering. We usually needed to open all the windows and doors when we got home to air the house out, as it got considerably warmer than the temperature outside. Sitting in the nice little backyard while the house cooled down was a great way to spend early evenings. Everything was clean and functional with only a few exceptions. The TV would not turn on, seemingly because of a broken remote. The mattress in the back bedroom seemed pretty worn out and would benefit from being replaced. If you have mischievous kids who like to play with door locks, you may want to take extra precautions to prevent them from locking you out of some rooms.

The Perfect Getaway

Wonderful place to stay. The property had everything we needed for my family and I. Lots of kitchenware, adequate toiletries, and very comfortable beds. Checking in and out was a breeze and the best part was being 2 minutes away from the beach! I highly recommend this property& would love to return!

Easy, clean and cute

The house was exactly as pictured. It's really clean with nice furnishings and all the items you'd need for your stay (towels, shampoo, laundry, etc.). It is a 3-minute walk to the beach, a 20-second walk to the convenience store, and overall a great location if you're exploring the area. My family enjoyed the home and the owner/manager responded very quickly when I had a question. This is a great rental!
