Elegant Modern Studio in the Centre of Helsinki

For you who aren't satisfied with middle of the road accommodations, this apartment in the heart of Helsinki is newly renovated with all the latest amenities and accoutrements. The building itself is historically valuable and exudes a warm glow of authenticity, making it a perfect place from which to enjoy all that Helsinki has to offer.

The apartment itself has a double bed (Murphy bed) in the living room and, above the kitchen, there’s a loft with two single beds (close to each other, see picture). The bathroom is relatively small but, with the exception of holding family meetings there, it should suffice.

I will be reachable throughout your stay, and am happy to help in any way I can.

You will be located a few blocks away from the sea, in the very centre of Helsinki. By taking a very short stroll along the peaceful streets (1 min), you will find Hietalahti market hall and square. The hall features a variety of cosy and traditional restaurants and the best burgers in town courtesy of Roslund’s butcher shop.

Everything else in Helsinki is about a 5-10 minutes’ walk away (Helsinki is truly that small!). Close nearby you will also find two tram lines (the 6 and 9), an underground subway station (Kamppi) and bus services, all able to carry you on your adventures wherever they may take you.

It is strictly prohibited to bring to the apartment persons other than the stated guests.

Like being at home

Lovely apartment, comfortable and clean with lots of natural light. We loved being able to walk to restaurants, coffee shops, markets and the mall. Trams and buses are close by. Staying there made us feel a part of the Helsinki community.

This was such a great place to explore Helsinki from for 2.5 weeks. Great location: close to everything but quiet. Lovely host - helpful, communicative, great recommendations. He met us at the door and got us situated. Kitchen more than met our needs the whole time and my husband now wants an induction stove. It was nice to be able to do laundry and it was helpful to have a drying rack. I'd give this place 20 stars if I could. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Helsinki!

The property was great. Beautifully renovated, close to everything and the host was very responsive and helpful. The only feedback I would add is I wish the property had more supplies like spices, condiments, dish soap, food containers for leftovers, additional towels, more pillows, laundry soap and thicker blankets.

Ideal Base for Exploring Helsinki

This property worked really well for us. It is close enough to the central core of Helsinki to be easily walkable but far enough away to provide a quiet place to relax and sleep. The building is very quiet and the apartment is easily reached on the second floor. It is well equipped and everything worked as it should. The Murphy bed was very comfortable as well. All in all, we have only good things to say and highly recommend it as a place to stay while in Helsinki!

Lovely spot with attentive host

Our host was there to greet us outside and help with our bags, and gave us great, nearby restaurant recommendations that we loved. Apartment was very clean and my mom and I each had our own space to sleep. High end appliances/finishes. Loft likely for the limber/young, slightly low ceiling and narrow ladder, but it was perfect for me. The dishwasher and laundry were broken during our stay but it wasn't the host's fault and he was communicative about it. Overall fabulous stay with good access to Helsinki and public transport.

Lovely Apartment - Perfect Location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Helsinki! Joachim is a very helpful host and the apartment is perfectly located! Joachim was very responsive and his suggestions were wonderful. One thing to note is the apartment is a "1st floor walk up" and the elevator cannot be used. For many this won't matter but we were on an extended journey and had heavy bags. Joachim helped carry them up on our arrival but getting them down was challenging. The bathroom is a "wet bathroom" and a little on the small side but we made it work, just good to understand ahead of time. The bed is a Murphy bed, which you can see from the pictures....it is very comfortable and approximately the equivalent of a double bed. Helsinki is a beautiful city with lots to see, amazing food and friendly people (like Joachim)! We will definitely be back!

Great choice for lodging for two

Joachim is a great host. Stayed in his flat for 5-night Helsinki leisure travel with my adult son. He loves the loft bed and me the spacious Murphy Bed. Location is a short walk from Ruoholahti metro and 24-hour K-Market shopping. Also a short walk from Kamppi or Vanha Kauppahali. Do not forget to try a “Berlusconi” or other fine pizza at close by Itämerenkatu KOTIPIZZA shop!

My family of three very much enjoyed our stay in Joachim's property. The space is clean; the efficient storage made the studio seem like plenty of space for two adults and a teenager. The loft gave our son his own personal space. The kitchen is well-equipped for holiday cooking. The location is convenient for walking to nearby attractions, groceries, restaurants, and public transportation. The neighbor and building are quiet and safe. Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, there are many types mattresses and individuals have their own preferences. The bed has a medium firm mattress and I understand that it might not be suitable for all. Out of over 400 visitors most have liked the medium firm.
