About this property
The Annexe, quintessentially English, but with a French/Moroccan flavour.
The Annexe ….has it’s own signature style. Experience simple luxury in a relaxed atmosphere - English with French Moroccan influence.
Nestling at the edge of a beautiful open field in the heart of Chipping Campden. A babbling brook outside your window, great bed, fabulous shower and cosy kitchen/diner to cook up a storm if you’re having a night ‘at home’. Walking distance to the High Street if you’re not…… with plenty of great bars and restaurants to drink and dine. A spiral staircase winds it's way up to the main bedroom and bathroom. Savour some al fresco dining under the wisteria arbour in Summer, play pooh sticks in the brook, snuggle up on the sofa and enjoy the view on a frosty morning. The Annexe has it all: wellies, sunhats, umbrellas, hot chocolate, lemonade, books, music.
A perfect cottage for two providing a romantic place to kick back and relax (talking/reading/chilling) or to explore (walking, the races, Campden literary festival, music festival). Interested in craft - join a two day hat making workshop @ louisepocock.com or flower workshops @ academyofflowers.com - both located on the High Street. More than a holiday let, a home from home you won’t want to leave.
Come and stay with us. We’d love to meet you.

About the host
Hosted by Alice & Jerome Hoefkens
Jerome and I are both retired and have four grown up children dotted around the UK. We love meeting new people and hopefully look forward to welcoming you to the Cotswolds very soon.
Why they chose this property
We moved to Chipping Campden initially for two very practical reasons - to be closer to work and to downsize. There was no romantic vision of country living or any desire to live 'the good life', but the beautiful buildings and honeyed stone captured our imaginations and our hearts. Our children had all left home, living in the city of Birmingham held no charm any more and the Cotswolds beckoned. Alice knew Campden through her work and after a couple of initial forays we began the search in earnest to find the right home somewhere in the North Cotswolds, but with a particular soft spot for Campden. Michaelmas Cottage came onto the market and the rest is history. Quite simply we fell in love, practicality and reason were muted and every aspect of the cottage, garden, and location made an impression that was impossible to ignore. After 3 years here each day still brings fresh surprises and never disappoints. Campden really is the land of milk and honey and it has become something we want to share - we know whoever you are, wherever you come from, time spent here will be time well spent.
What makes this property unique
The Annexe is unique within Chipping Campden because it doesn’t strive for perfection but offers excellence. Comfortable, stylish, relaxed and informal - the space allows guests to completely switch off from all the hassles of life and really find both peace and fun.
We have lovingly brought the Annexe together over several years, carefully choosing furnishings and fabrics to produce an eclectic mix. We feel we have created a place where people can be comfortable, stimulated and happy, lazy or energetic.
It’s a wonderful base for walking, cycling, riding, chilling and reading. Throw open the French doors over the Cam brook on a sunny day and the view before you is simple but sublime - find that moment of total bliss.
