Our family stay in Cornish was great. This property was prepared better than any other place we’ve seen. With a large group, we had everything we needed and plenty of space to spread out. The views are beautiful and the drive from Malad was breathtaking. 10/10 for me!

We are pleased you enjoyed your stay! See you this Fall!
My friends and I have stayed at this location a few times and it is perfect for our needs. We enjoy undisturbed quilting time in a beautiful setting. The barn is the perfect backdrop for quilt photos and the house is well set up to give everyone plenty of space.

We are happy to have you and your friends stay at the Station House. We look forward to having you again!
On arrival we found the home very clean and ready for use. We used the home as a place to stay while attending my daughters USU Graduation. I am from Cache Valley and still have relatives in the area so we did not spend a lot of time in the home. The beds were very comfortable. The owner was easy to contact and got right back to us.
Julie was so kind and helpful to us. She allowed our young men to set up tents on the property and the leaders slept inside. The old gas station right next to the property is an additional fee to rent, but it was a perfect place to cook all of our meals and it had a great dining area for the boys. I would rent this place again in a heartbeat!

Daniel, thank you - we are happy it worked out so well for your group!
We stay here every time we come to town. Cache Valley MX is close. Julie is so friendly and communication is great. The home is always clean, comfortable beds, and the kitchen has everything you need. Including Keurig, crockpot, and blender. Landscape immaculate. Love it here!

I wish we would of had more time to enjoy the house and property. We came up this way for a baseball tournament. It was a great central place to stay for Cache Valley tournament. It was 18 min to Smithfield. Property was clean and beautiful. And Julie was on top of everything! Thank you!

Thanks Bree! We are happy you enjoyed your stay and look forward to having you again.
The house is cute and decorated nicely the kitchen is spacious and user-friendly it could use more pots and pans and baking dishes and utensils. The washer and dryer was nice to have available. The bedrooms were cozy and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and stocked with towels but the bathtub drain was slow. The bedrooms could use finished closets to hang garments. The homeowners are very kind. It was a pleasant experience for all of us.

Cornish country
Julie was the best hostess. Our daughter and her friends arrived prior to our arrival and Julie brought food and homemade jam! She was so thoughtful and we stopped to talk to her on a serene walk along the country road running by the house. So genuinely sweet.
The house has great utilization of space and is light and bright.
We explored the original barn next to the house! Amazing! The countryside is calm and pleasant and we saw several red tail hawks.
Only drawbacks: very low pressure in master shower and train passes about two blocks away but only once during our stay.
Wonderful time.
The Station House is a beautiful retreat! Having arrived after dark, we awoke to our children staring out the windows, mesmerized by the gorgeous scenery – green crops, blue sky, and snowy mountains off in the distance. Though like new inside, this house has a warm, inviting feeling left from days gone by.
We appreciated the layout. The dining area boasts an ample-sized table that is perfect for a family meal. The laundry room is spacious for travelers needing to freshen their clothes. The stairs are wide enough and not overly steep, and as another poster mentioned, four bedrooms all on the same floor is a blessing for parents of small children!
Dale and Julie are kind and attentive hosts. We were so thankful that they provided a baby gate for the stairs, and even a Pack ‘N Play for our toddler. Disinfecting wipes were provided, as well. When we found that the can opener did not work, Julie brought us her own to borrow. When we experienced difficulty accessing the internet, Dale brought someone by to try and get us back online as soon as possible.
There are a few minor comforts we might suggest, but the absence of these things certainly would not prevent us from returning. Pans with flat bottoms, silicone spatulas, and wooden spoons would have been helpful in the kitchen. The blind in the laundry room did not seem to open (though here were plenty of lovely views throughout the rest of the house). The sheets on the large bed in the master bedroom were cotton (preferable), but others were not. Exhaust fans in the bathrooms would be a welcome addition, as well.
As with any vacation rental, there are a few unique characteristics that can’t be helped and may not jump out at potential guests from the pictures. The home is on a corner lot, closer than expected to a street that is busy (for being out in the country, that is). To Dale and Julie’s credit, there is a fence that runs part of the way across the front of the property, though most children will probably require extra supervision when playing in the front or back yard. “The Station” is located on the side of the house opposite the barn, so there is not quite as much yard as we were expecting. Be careful in the master shower, as the ceiling is a little low.
Dale and Julie, thank you again for all of your hospitality. We appreciate the effort you have poured into your home and all you did to make our stay enjoyable. If the opportunity arises, we would love to stay again!
We had the best Thanksgiving in this peaceful country setting. The house was cozy and the grounds allowed my grand kids to run the wiggles out. We loved it!

About the host
Hosted by Julie Buxton
We are Dale & Julie Buxton, your hosts at the Station House. Dale is a native of Cornish and together we've made this town our home for the past 35 years, raising our family here. With deep roots in agriculture, we both share a love for country living and the community. We purchased the property in 2014 with the vision of transforming it into an enjoyable retreat for all who visit. The house was completely gutted, and the three original outside walls were kept to preserve the historic character of the home. More footage was added to the west part of the house on the main and second floors. From the start, our goal has been to create a space where families and friends can gather and feel at home. One unique feature of the property is the garage located next to the house, which was once used as a gas station and machine shop in the early 1900s. In 2020, it was renovated into a gathering space that comfortably seats up to 45 guests. The space is fully equipped with a kitchen, serving area, bathroom, smart TV, heating, and air conditioning, making it perfect for hosting events year-round. In addition to the gas station, there is a two-story wooden barn that was also used in the 1900s for milking cows, storing feed hay for horses and cattle.
Why they chose this property
"The Station House is nestled in a peaceful agricultural area, surrounded by scenic fields that rotate between crops like potatoes, corn, wheat, and hay. While the setting is tranquil, guests may also experience the authentic sounds of country life—including distant sprinklers, passing ATVs, farm trucks, and the occasional train."
