Escape to to what is known to our family for the past 50 years as the most magical place on earth!!!! El Cocal is a Gated community of Beach Houses tucked away between the beautiful mountains and Caribbean ocean of in the east coast of Puerto Rico. Here your mind, body, and soul can't help but relax and become one with nature.
Villa Luna has 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. First bedroom has two full size beds, Second bedroom has a queen size bed , Third bedrroom a bunk bed with twin on top and full on the bottom and a button and the master bedroom with a king size bed and full bathroom..Full kitchen,living room, home theater, tv, dvd , ipod station, games, movies, dinning room , 2 balconies with ocean views and mountain views, porch with ocean views, hammacs and outdoor furniture, outdoor shower,washer and dryer, all linens and towels provided, parking , club house with basketball court, beach chairs, basketball, etc.. Brand new private inground pool (photos coming soon!)Close to Snorkeling, Restaurants, Golf, Rainforest, Old San Juan.

A slice of paradise!

Everything about this house was just as described. It was light and airy and the views were breathtaking! The pool was great for the times we wanted to relax but the kids wanted to swim. The beach was amazing and we loved swimming and hunting for shells.

Beautiful Home

This place is as pictured and fit our needs well! Pros: nearby beach, open concept and spacious, excellent breeze throughout home and great pool with beach chairs and umbrella!! The only con is the upstairs family room lacks comfortable seating. We love watching movies as a family in the evening and found this to be the only downfall to the place. I highly recommend as the pros definitely make it an excellent choice!!

This home fit our party of 11 great (Elizabeth was kind to let us add one more unexpected child to our trip last minute). Clean home! We had 4 kids with us and they absolutely LOVED the pool facing the gorgeous hillside area. We even saw an iguana, caught frogs, and tried a couple of star fruits! We spent many mornings sitting out and watching the ocean. The waves were rough (maybe something to do with the hurricane going towards Jamaica) but we still managed to let the kids swim in the area surrounded by rocks to block some waves a couple of days and traveled to Luquillo for another calmer beach day. The house was very easy to get to and from all the places we wanted to visit while there. We appreciated the well stocked home, even with condiments/spices etc. The ACs in the bedrooms worked really well and kept us all cool at night while sleeping. Coming from Colorado with no humidity, it took us a couple of nights to get used to no AC in the living areas, but once we added some fans (also provided) we all were able to sit and visit very comfortably with a warm breeze! The driveway is steep, so as stated having a higher clearance vehicle works best, but overall it wasn’t a hurdle at all. A couple of “constructive criticisms” for this home would be to maybe have a long handled squeegee to swipe over the outdoor tiles after getting wet to dry quicker and outdoor hanging hooks to hang wet towels/swimsuits and shaper knives or sharpener. We would definitely return! Thank you!
Four generations were able to come together for a first time visit in Puerto Rico!

Wonderful Retirement Vacation

perfect getaway

Great property with beachfront view. We were two families with a total of 10 guests- the house was super comfortable for our group and fully equipped - nice secluded beach within a two minute walk.

Beautiful home, great host

We spent 9 nights at Elizabeth's home. The home is spacious and well appointed. Everyone enjoyed the pool and the proximity to the beach. The views from both sides of the house were beautiful. Elizabeth was a wonderful host as well. We experienced a few routine maintenance issues upon our arrival, but Elizabeth responded very quickly and arranged for them to be addressed quickly. She was a very responsive and gracious host. I highly recommend this home to anyone with a larger group.

Loved Villa Luna

Villa Luna was all as advertised! The home is spacious. The pool was wonderful. The location was excellent with a wonderful Caribbean view. Elizabeth was very helpful and always quick to respond. We enjoyed every minute!

Have you been on vacations where you wished you had stayed off the grid more? This is where you need to come stay. Living an incredibly hectic, stressful life, I often crave the simplicity of my grandmother's house (large, open air home) and an atmosphere for people to talk and truly spend time. We came here with my husband's parents (who are in their middle 80s and not well but who once lived in San Juan and loved it.). They wanted to be on the island once more before they died. We brought our adult children and two best friends as well, and the 8 of us truly found this place indescribable. It was all the comforts of air conditioning in bedrooms, while having natural ocean breezes that blow from front to back of the open-concept living spaces. The beach below it is a hidden paradise where you can swim/float in calmer lagoon or get into bigger waves on the other side. The frogs and birds and sound of waves lulled us to sleep. Having grown up camping, this was an amazing sound. The town of Yabacoa (the epicenter of Hurricane Maria) is rebuilding and has local food and amazing views to offer. We had only an hour drive to San Juan for day trips. The next town over Humacoa had all kinds of modern shopping, restaurants, etc. This is a place you must see for yourself. We absolutely want to come back!

Gated community with private access to beach. Spacious home with all amenities and back up generator (common to lose electricity on occassion). Private pool (west side of house so great for afternoon sun & fun). Large grocery store only a few miles away (Ralph's). Perfect for a large family get away or a familly/friend group getaway.

Relaxing in paradise

We loved Villa Luna and had a great week. The views from the house are amazing. It was so nice to spend the day relaxing with family, and listening to the waves crash against the shore. We also explored the area a few of the days. It takes about an hour to get to Old San Juan and the rainforest. This trip was exactly what we needed. Thank you Elizabeth for a week full of memories for our family.

Absolute Paradise

OMG, absolute paradise. This house has everything you can imagine. Pictures do not do this place justice. Our life back in the states is very hectic and Villa Luna is exactly what we needed to relax. Extremely safe neighborhood about 1 hour from San Juan Airport. Everything was just perfect! Her sweet parents were just icing on the cake.

Dream Family Vacation

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Luna. Elizabeth was a fabulous hostess! We loved EVERYTHING about this location - the house was beautiful and stocked with everything we could possibly need. The beach toys, towels, chairs, coolers and boogie boards were so useful for our days on the beach. The kitchen and dining room were perfect for evening meals and game nights. The open floor plan provided a warm sea breeze at all times which was soothing to our souls. The front porch with the ocean view was just marvelous and the back porch with jungle views was equally as relaxing. We LOVED our time in Puerto Rico and staying here was the best choice we could have made. We will be back again!

Perfection!!!!

My family travels a lot and this house was AMAZING!!!!!! It was even better than the pictures! Elizabeth has been great in communicating since we first booked her house. She sent us great information and helpful hints to help us plan our vacation! There were 8 of us (myself, my wife, our 4 kids and my in-laws) that stayed and we ALL loved it!!! Great privacy, open floor plan, location, beach access, lizards, frogs, fruit trees, bbq, etc!!! I highly recommend staying here!!!! My kids already miss sitting on the front porch listening to the ocean and relaxing!! We will definitely stay here again!! It was also great to meet Elizabeth and her parents, wonderful people!!! Perfect Puerto Rico Home

This was such a truly wonderful home. The home was beautiful the pictures don’t give it justice. You have the best of both worlds….the front of the home had an ocean view and the back overlooked what looked like a tropical paradise. The house was very clean. I am a very picky person and literally could not find anything dirty or wrong. It was well stocked and had everything we needed including games and everything we needed in the kitchen. The house had plenty of towels and soap to even a speaker we could play our music on. My kids loved the basketball court across from the house and the beach access is steps away. This house is situated on the perfect part of the beach that had a area blocked from waves almost like a little lagoon area that the little kids could enjoy without worrying about the waves. The pool was very nice and was well equipped with all kinds of pool toys. We have stayed at a lot of rental properties and I have to say everything was on point with this home. Thank you Elizabeth for everything.. the check in and check out process was a breeze and thank you again for recommending Sergio with Fixatrip for our excursions. Would highly recommend this home for families and hope to be back soon!

Family Trip

This property was a great way to end our 5 weeks in PR. We stayed here the last 10 days. We are a family of 6 (all teenage kids) and my sister in law joined as well. This place is great for leisurely days at the pool and preparing meals at home. We had several of those. We also had several days of adventure and exploration. This means we had to drive. Most of what we did required an hours drive one way. We came to learn this is just part of being on the island and didn’t mind it. Everything at the house was as advertised. Functional space, great beds and arrangement, stocked kitchen, beach and pool items, great internet, places to relax and enjoy the sun and breeze. Elizabeth was great to work with throughout the entire process. She would be a first point of contact for us if we returned back to island. Mostly to stay at the house again but also to guide us toward additional properties available, people to help book certain adventures and recommendations of unique experiences.

Amazing house with the perfect location

We absolutely loved this house! The house and the location made our whole trip. Right in front of the house is a breathtaking beach. It is so private with clear warm water. The backdrop of the beach is all mountain and palm trees. There is even a cove that is blocked by rocks with completely calm water that is perfect for kids. The backyard of the house backs up to a jungle like setting with mango and star fruit trees. We saw so many geckos and lizards in the trees. We were lulled to sleep every night by the sounds of the tree frogs. The front and the back doors of the house completely open and a wonderful breeze comes through. The house is spacious and beautifully decorated. The owner Elizabeth is super sweet. My Uncle fell and injured himself right at the end of our vacation and Elizabeth offered to let us stay another day free of charge so he could have more time to heal. The whole area is beautiful and the people of Puerto Rico go out of their way to make you feel welcome. You will have a wonderful experience if renting Villa Luna for your vacation!

Lifelong memories

This house is a dream. You can't ask for a better location or property. Between all of the different outdoor spaces, the beach a short walk away, hearing the waves from the home, and the pool just off the kitchen, it's so much fun. The property is a place we will always remember with fondness and a great deal of love. My husband and I, our 23 year old au pair, our 6 year old twins and our 3 year old spent 30 days here. The beach was a gem for us as there is a sheltered spot to swim, even for our littlest. There were often times we were the only ones at the beach. I walked everyday and collected sea glass. I also worked remote from this house and never had any trouble with the Wifi. The bedrooms all have AC and are incredibly comfortable. With little ones, we made sure to be right at the pool whenever they were up and at 'em. At night, we shut everything up so they could not access the pool at all alone. There are some fun restaurants near by but not within walking distance. We took adventures out on many of our days including island tours, into San Juan, children's museum, seeing the incredible bioluminescent waters and more. I feel like we got to have a really great feeling of Puerto Rico, the rich culture and lots of great food, too. Elizabeth is the owner of the property and she is a delight. She was helpful, responsive and we were able to see her in person a couple of times during our visit as her wonderful parents live next door. I miss it already!

Beautiful Property with Public Utility Challenges

Overall we had a great vacation with a very rocky start. The house is exactly as advertised with the exception that there was 1 hammock when 2 were shown in the pictures. The location is beautiful! We went to the beach daily and soaked in the pool often. We faced a few challenges: 1. We were emailed directions to the wrong home (the owners must rent a few) and the owner was not answering her phone when we called so we were driving around searching for the wrong house in the dark for a while until we figured it out. 2. A few hours after arrival we lost all water. This was frustrating as we had traveled all day, grocery shopped and arrived at the house to not be able to cook, shower or even brush our teeth! The next morning, we were brought 6 gallons of water, but by lunch time the water had been restored. 3. A few days later power to the neighborhood went out. Since the home had a back up generator, this was not really an issue except the generator stalled a few times and had to be manually restarted. I feel like the owner was frustrated with my communication over the lack of water and generator failures. This was our vacation and the fact that we had to fill buckets of water from the pool and carry them upstairs all night to flush the toilet was not what we had hoped for. We were not offered any compensation. The owner offered a full reimbursement if we checked out, but with 9 of us, we really couldn't find anywhere else to go in the moment.

Beautiful House

We recently returned from this beautiful home. Communication with the owner was amazing and the check-in process was very easy. We didn't realize that the house only had air-conditioning in the bedrooms, but that was our fault for missing it in the details. We also heard that this is common in Puerto Rico. It does get very warm in the common areas, so recommend opening up all the doors to get a breeze. Otherwise, everything was beautiful and there was everything you could have possibly wanted or needed. She even had available beach towels, sunscreen, first aid kit, board games, beach chairs and cards. If you are visiting Puerto Rico, I would recommend this house and Elizabeth!

I would like to start with how accurate the online listing is to reality. The home was completely breath taking from the inside to the outside. I couldn’t help but to notice how clean and organized everything was. This home had everything we needed from material things, space for our big family, sense of security, and beautiful views. The view from the master bedroom was undeniably one of my favorite things. Even the construction across the way didn’t take away from anything. The pool was a main attraction for our family. The view of the rainforest while we swam and listened to music was amazing. This was the first time we traveled to Puerto Rico and our experience was so positive that I’m sure it won’t be the last. Why they chose this property

EL Cocal is a very special place for me and my family. My grandparents bought a beach house when El Cocal was created 50 years ago. As a Kid my family used to spend weekends at the Beach House. This was and is my happy and safe place, lots of Great memories!!!!!
My family loved this place so much that my parents retired at the Beach house and I recently built two villas to keep coming every year with my husband and two beautiful boys. I want for them to experience what I experience as a child, tranquility, family time and quality of life.
If you are looking for your happy place this might be the one!!!

What makes this property unique

Beautiful views of the ocean and mountains!!!! Marine turtles lay their eggs on our beach between March and June!!!
