Overall, we had a great stay. The property is very peaceful and we met the host and he seemed very nice. The house was very clean and we enjoyed being out in nature. Great place to stay!
We absolutely enjoyed the river setting and cabin ambiance. It’s private, quiet, and surrounded with bird song. The owner helps to flip your thinking from a hotel setting to your own home by having the guest responsible for light cleaning for the next guest. He’s able to reduce the fees and increase the value to the consumer by this method. Doing so is well worth it for the opportunity to stay here. We are grateful the owners are willing to share this cabin with us. We certainly plan to return in the future.
This is a wonderful refurbished old family cabin on a feeder creek to the main Au Sable River. The place keeps the old cabin charm with a mix of nice updates. The cabin is very clean, and the kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked with essentials. There is a great gas grill out front, along with a wonderful double wooden swing looking over the creek and a firepit. Nick was excellent at communicating and check in was a breeze. He even offered a late checkout since no one was coming in behind us. As per the listing, to keep the pricing down, you are asked to bring your own linens (queen beds) and towels and to leave the place as you found it. The cleaning list before checkout is very manageable. It took me about 35 minutes working alone at a leisurely pace. Two people could probably do it in less than 20 minutes. This is our second stay with Nick at a second property in the area, and we will definitely be coming back again. Great bargain for the price.
I love this property and the owners! All facets of our stay were wonderful! The cabin is clean, the property is beautiful, quiet and a nature lover’s paradise.
We were given a front row view to the first snow of the year in a breathtaking setting. This cabin had everything we needed and was so cozy as we watched snow falling. The birds visiting the feeder throughout the day were so active! We can't wait to go back for a trip this summer!
It was a very pleasnet weekend in the peaceful cottage the located on the Luzerne Creek. We had a very good time and hope to go back there next year to catch a trout.
First off let may say that the host Nick was a really good guy, though we never met I spoke with him multiple times about hunting in the area he was always quick to respond and was a great help. The property is beautiful and the cabin is in excellent condition. I highly recommend. Thanks Nick!
Always a wonderful time staying at the property! Beautiful views with plenty of wildlife to enjoy. The owners are incredibly friendly, the cabin feels like a home away from home. Thank you for another wonderful stay! :)
This property is amazing. Spotless and has everything you need. Beautiful view of Big Creek and coffee on the dock in the mornings is amazing. We've stayed here twice so far and will be back!
Fantastic little clean and cozy cabin, great for our mini winter stay-cation! Beautiful creek views and lots of wildlife. Very quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Will come back in the spring to do some fishing.

We cherish this part of Michigan and all that it has to offer.
My Grandparents purchased their property 3 miles north of Luzerne on the Big Creek way back in 1944. They started building their "Red" Cabin in 1965 ( I was 2 years old ).
My wife Laura and I purchased their Cabin in 1997 and have over the years purchased a few others in the area for the purpose of preservation. All of our properties are somewhat connected and private. We live in one that is centrally located to the rest. We do have 1 exception which is a Cabin on the outskirts of Mio. Mio is 6 miles away and is the County Seat.
