Jaimee and Tim Healy bought Hakuna Katama in 2018 after renting various properties in every town on the Vineyard over the prior ten years. They chose to buy in the Katama area because this home is such a great spot for young kids and teenagers, or families who want easy beach access, privacy seekers who love relaxing on the porch, boaters or clam diggers who want to explore Katama Bay, cyclists or runners who love the bikepath to Edgartown, or those who want to walk to cocktails at the Winnetu Hotel just down the street. There is no other spot on Martha's Vineyard that offers it all quite like Katama.
This home is one of two properties they rent; they also welcome guests at their lake home in the Monadnock region of NH, starting in 2015.
Since 2015, they have welcomed 100 different families and guests to their various properties and maintain a 5 star rating on VRBO (4.96/5.0) as of August 2023 across those properties.
Their Katama home (affectionately called Hakuna Katama) has limited summer weeks available each year because of the many repeat guests who have rented it every summer since purchase. Similarly, their NH home has repeat guests year in and year out. Their NH home has dozens of public reviews on VRBO; Hakuna Katama reviews are available through inquiry.
They focus on making sure your experience is simple and special. They communicate early and often. Someone familiar with the home is on call to help, from how to operate the porch umbrella, sound bar, remote controls, and air conditioners, to where you'll find the grilling tools, spare propane tank, and trash compactor bags.
Hakuna Katama has a pool table for family fun, high end furnishings and bedding designed for relaxing and good sleep, fun art on the walls curated by Jaimee who runs a high end home design store in MA, and everything you need in a kitchen made for entertaining.

Why they chose this property
Ideal location in Katama (the beach area of Edgartown). Walk down a dirt path and South Beach is right in front of you. The Winnetu Resort is behind our property if you want to walk over and get dinner or cocktail at their restaurant. Public boat launch 1/4 mile away. And house is great space for entertaining for friends and family.
