The John and Charlotte Pelton House was built in 1894 by Ashland builder W. J. Schmidt. By its size and distinction as an example of Eastlake architecture, the house is regarded as a pivotal building in the Railroad Addition Historic District.
Pelton House in downtown Ashland is the place to be. As a vacation rental, other than having the best location, we offer our guests many in-room complimentary amenities in an eco-friendly environment. Each suite is uniquely decorated, private and secluded with a relaxing big garden. With the intention of making Pelton environmentally friendly, we use biodegradable products, as well as solar paneled water heating. As a self check-in facility, each private door is securely and digitally operated.
The Neighborhood
The Pelton neighborhood is quiet and very close to the CO-OP and all major downtown Ashland attractions. A 5 minute walk to OSF, and all downtown shops and restaurants or a 10 minute walk to Lithia Park. Ashland is known for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Southwest of downtown, leafy Lithia Park surrounds Ashland Creek and features trails, duck ponds and a rose garden. To the northeast, North Mountain Park has a nature center and themed gardens, like the butterfly and herb gardens. At the ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum, kids can build and experiment in the Da Vinci’s Garage space.
Electric Charging Port
We offer our environmentally conscious guests a free plug-in 220V electric charging outlet at the Pelton. All electric cars and TESLA owners are welcome. Please bring your own cable.
