About this property
Potters Cottage - 100 acres of paradise!
Nestled at the base of Mount Blackheath, the 100 acre property is surrounded by magnificent Blue Mountains escarpments, peaceful forest and open native grassland.
With kangaroos, echidnas, goannas, wombats and myriads of birds at your doorsteps with a frog chorus at dusk, this is truly a nature lover paradise and birdwatchers heaven.
Designed and built by well known Australian Potter John Robertson using natural materials and recycled timber, the cottage is completely off the grid, solar powered, with natural spring water on tap.
There are two bedrooms, each has a queen bed, open plan kitchen, one bathroom, a separate dining room and a lounge room with a cosy wood fireplace.
Eco friendly materials are used wherever possible: organic (OEKO-Tex® certified) linen bedding; Australian made wool quilts, mohair throws and duck down pillows; quality cotton towels, hot water bottles and hand knotted woolen Persian rugs are all provided for your comfort.
This is a TV-free retreat.
While WiFi and 4G/5G mobile reception (Telstra, Optus, Vodafone) are excellent here, we encourage our guests to switch off their devices and explore the beautiful Kanimbla Valley. Bring your mountain bikes and go for a ride, try yoga during pink sunsets, meditate under ancient gum trees, go for a horse ride, roll in the mud at the dam :) red clay is highly therapeutic - it cleanses, exfoliates, detoxifies and improves blood circulation! Or just lay back on the veranda with that book that you always wanted to read but never had time, and submerge into songs of Australian birds with butterflies gliding by.
There is so much to see and experience, just let your inner child come alive to play and enjoy nature’s simple offerings.
PLEASE NOTE:
* We ask our guests to respect the native habitat, do not cut flora and leave no trace.
* The cottage is not suitable for small children as it is not small child proof.
* Smoking outside only.
* The base price is for 2 people as a couple using one bedroom. If you require the use of a second bedroom then additional charges apply.
* Check in any time after 4pm. Check out by 11am.
* Long weekends are a minimum 3 night stay and Easter is a minimum 4 nights stay.
* Ground coffee, selection of teas, sugar and basic toiletries are provided.
* Last 3 km of Kanimbla Drive to Potters cottage is a dirt road. Please drive slowly as wildlife and birds cross over.
DOG’S STAY:
* Please note that we only accept dogs. Sorry, no cats or ferrets under any circumstances!
* Dog’s stay should be agreed with the owner before your booking is made. Please sent an enquiry with as much information as possible about your pet, including it’s breed.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD:
Although completely secluded, Potters cottage is only 12 km from Blackheath village with it's gourmet cafes and restaurants, art galleries, antique shops, famous Campbell Rhododendron garden and a Golf club.
About 10 km away is the Shipley Upper that is probably the most popular crag in the whole Blue Mountains and only 10 mins drive to Mount Blackheath Hang Gliders and Paragliders launching sites, where you can gaze out over the magnificent Kanimbla Valley.
A short walk from the cottage are the Centennial Glen Stables who offer horse riding around Kanimbla Valley for beginners to experienced riders, from one hour to an all-day experience. Bookings are essential.
