About this property

Vacation home on the Albemarle Sound

Do you want to watch beautiful sunrises in the morning over the water? This home is for you. Enjoy your morning coffee in the sunroom or sitting on the pier. Take a swim in the sound or fish from the dock. Have your own boat, the boat ramp is around the corner. There is a large shelter that is wonderful for family cookouts. You are about 30 minutes from either Elizabeth City or Edenton.
Bring your own paddle boats or kayaks to enjoy the sound. Water is only about 3 ft deep at the dock. There is a fire pit on site.
Blink security cameras in use that cover the driveway and front and back entrances.

***Just a reminder, our slice of Heaven is waterfront property and as such, you will be in nature. There are insects, pests and wildlife that share this beautiful area with us. We do our best to keep them out of the house with yearly/monthly pest control. However, there is still a chance you may find a spider or other insects inside the home. There is also a chance in the warmer months that there will be Fuzzy Bills/Midges or May Flies outside.***

The views are amazing we watched dolphins swim through the sound from the dock. We spent countless hours fishing from the dock and enjoying the beautiful weather and quiet neighborhood. One of the all around best places we have stayed. Wish we could have stayed a couple days longer. Will definitely rebook in future. Phyllis is an amazing and attentive owner, with an amazing story!

My husband, son and I had the pleasure of staying at this property this week. It was such a blessing! So peaceful, quiet and relaxing being right on the water. From the moment we walked in, we felt warmly welcomed. It was cozy, clean and comfortable. We also found the home to be well stocked. My guys did a little fishing off the pier in the back. We even saw a couple dolphins while standing on the pier - something we didn't expect! We're grateful to the host for her hospitality, and really hope to stay here again.

Christmas Visit

We enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of space to kick back and relax. The view of the Albemarle Sound from the sunroom was excellent. We will look for this place again when we return in the near future.

Beyond relaxing

My family and I have been here several times. Phyllis is very accommodating to your needs. She has done some remodeling, but it was already beautiful. We did lots of fishing, enjoyed the grandkids and had a birthday celebration. It couldn't have been any better. We can't wait to return.

Wonderful Place

We had a relaxing weekend away from home here! The house was perfect for my family. We all enjoyed sitting by the water reading and relaxing during the day and then sitting by the fire pit at night. It was so peaceful and just what we needed! I look forward to staying here again!

This place is a jewel. I would recommend this house.

My purpose for finding a rental was to be able to relax and do some fishing with my grandsons. This property seemed to fit the bill. Before I came to this rental, I made sure to check out how far it was from town. I made sure to bring the things I could foresee needing. Just in case there is a Food Lion 17 minutes away. This property is a bit secluded. It is not very close to places to shop or dine. However, my intention was not to do any of these things but rather spend time with my family in an incredibly relaxing atmosphere. This home afforded my family and I all of these things. My first impression of this house was the clean smell and how very clean the house was. It is open, bright and inviting. The sun room faces the Albemarle Sound so when it started to rain this is where we made ourselves comfortable, in the swivel rockers enjoying the rain. The pier was great for fishing. It has a cleaning station. The adirondack chairs made for a perfect place to fish and for me, an avid bird watcher, a place to bird watch. Without even leaving the property I was able to capture some pics of American Bald Eagles, Osprey, Herons as well as Red Headed Woodpeckers, Eastern Kingbirds and Kingfishers just to name a few. I was very pleased with the kindness and professionalism of the owner. The owner seems to have a very warm heart with a knack for hospitality. I will recommend this house as well as share the memories that were made here with friends, family and anyone who will take the time to listen. God Bless Sue

My family and I first enjoyed this home in July. My husband and I were blessed to return last week for our 30th anniversary. This was the perfect quiet getaway that we needed! The sunroom is great for reading while glancing out at the water or the wildlife that happen to stop by - heron this trip! My husband enjoyed fishing off the pier. The neighborhood is very quiet, and it's just so relaxing being close to the water. The house is very clean and well-stocked with comfortable beds. I didn't do much cooking, but there's plenty of pots, pans, serve ware and utensils. We really love it here, and appreciate Phyllis for creating such a warm and welcoming place. Just as before, we really felt at home and look forward to returning.

Home away from home

Responsive host, online information accurate, good space, comfortable set up, easy access. House was clean. All basics provided. Small bonuses such as regular coffee pot plus single cup Keurig. Several outlets have capability of power outlet plug plus USB connection for power. Covered outdoor area with picnic tables and lights. This will be our preferred location when in the area!

Beautiful View

The property was conveniently located for us to attend 3 days of bike riding in nearby Elizabeth City. The view from the property on the Albemarle Sound was excellent. There were several things that we found not to our liking. The security code was so simple that we really worried that our bikes might not be there when we returned from dinner. The outside light did not work, making it very difficult for one of us who arrived after dark. Luckily one of us had a flashlight. I believe we paid a cleaning fee, but there were many dead insects all around; medicine cabinet, porch and kitchen windows. The towels were so thin. The beds in one bedroom were way too soft for comfort. Also, in that room there was no space to open a suitcase or put anything down. A shelf unit or dresser in the closet would have been helpful. If we had wanted to use the outdoor furniture, it was not cleaned up. The rest of the house was really quite comfortable and all in all we had an enjoyable stay.

Quiet and peaceful!!!

Very quiet and peaceful neighborhood, just right for relaxing and visiting with family. The house was clean and beautifully furnished. We spent a lot of time in the sunroom visiting and looking at the amazing view of the sound. Would like to stay here again in the future.
