Loved the house, it held all of us as we came into town for our father’s funeral. We actually rented the house down the street also for family coming from out of state.
This home is so unique and beautiful. The aesthetic is warm and inviting and the hosts are unbelievably great to work with. We had several hiccups with our project, so our dates to stay in the home changed several times but they were amazing to work with. We were right on the Mississippi River and experienced it firsthand - absolute stunning views! The beds were extremely comfortable, and the location is quiet and relaxing.Highly recommend this home
Great stay. The location was great and it was so fun to have the Mississippi River in our backyard! We got to see a couple bald eagles very close to us. The house had a ton of space to spread out and relax in. Beds were comfy and clean. We had a very good experience here.
What a beautiful home! Love the character of it! Also loved how it was well stocked and had plenty of room for family! Beautiful lake view also!! And a close walk to the park and a short drive to restaurants! Would love to come back someday!!

Thank you Tina, I loved hosting your family and you are welcome back ANYTIME! Thank you for taking such great care of our River home!
The host was very nice and responds back fairly quick when answering question! The only minor grip I did have was that with the lack of windows in the living room/kitchen area, it did feel a little overexposed during the evening time. But, that is a personal
The house was nicely decorated, a lot of little extras, even had it decorated in fall seasonal theme. Nice central location lots to do in that area, beautiful place right on the river had a nice dock although river was way low and couldn’t dock our boat but otherwise very nice. Lots of outdoor seating areas and decks. Enjoyed family room and bar area, outdoor fire place, indoor wood pizza oven. We really enjoyed ourselves, would love to come back during the summertime.
We stayed during a Major Fishing League tournament. We stayed with a bunch of anglers with 8 boats. Had no issue with theft in a quiet neighborhood. We did get toilet papered one night by homecoming kids and had plenty of laughs in how sneaky they were! We did need to bring a few extra air mattresses as the futons were a bit too short for tall men. The kitchen was great to feed all the guys and clean up was a breeze with 2 dishwashers. Already planning on availability for next year.

Why they chose this property
This is the neighborhood I grew up in so being able to move back and live on the river is a dream come true
What makes this property unique
This home was built in 1845 and Iowa became a state in 1846. This home was here before it was called the state of Iowa, pretty cool! Your view out the back deck is the River and …the state of Illinois !!
