READ ALL before inquiring.

Stunning in-law house. Massive! (1682 sq ft) Guests must be friendly and communicative. I'm a Super Host on another platform, so my way works for me and for my (carefully selected) guests!**

Private, quiet, yet walking distance (1.5 mi.) to downtown. Peaceful! Views of the trees and organic gardens in the back yard, which you share with the owner. Private garage & entrance; large library, board games, craft supplies, yoga mats (plenty of room), even an easel! Full-size new washer/dryer, a nice large kitchen (including a brand new Instant Pot (does pressure cooking and lots of other great cooking functions) and Instant Ace hot and cold blender), two induction burners, a convection oven and a microwave, all for your exclusive use!

No pets, no children under 6. Non-negotiable. There are hard floors downstairs, as well as breakables, and the bedroom with the Tempur-Pedic bed is as far away from the room you'd want to use for children as it could be. Pets are also non-negotiable, sorry!

2 Large Bedrooms: King-size Tempur-Pedic bed upstairs and 2 twin beds downstairs..

Elegant and spacious, yet cozy!

Fall & Winter 22/23: Due to exposure concerns, no extra visitors are allowed unless you've gotten clearance first with me - at the time of booking. Sorry!

Your Orientation / Meet and Greet will occur several days before you arrive - in a Zoom meeting - so keep up with your emails at daily in the week before your arrival so that we can schedule it together All renters 12 and over are required to attend. :~] This in advance meeting helps me to customize the space to best suit you!

**To be considered for a stay, tell me who your party consists of and what brings you to Olympia.

The space
This is a perfect spot to relax and unwind, a peaceful place to relax, or to work - or from which to enjoy the beauty of the Pacific Northwest! A healing space, for sure! Come, writers! Dancers, gardeners, yoga practitioners, and those in need of a creative or healing retreat, you are in for a treat!

You're in close proximity to the culture of Olympia's downtown, with its art walks, theaters, and the political hub that is the capitol of our state, though you'd never know it when you're here. A gorgeous 2-block park right on the corner offers basketball and tennis - and I have 2 rackets, tennis balls and a basketball for your use. A large grocery store and a popular, unique fast food restaurant are both a few blocks away, as are spas, a juice bar, and a bicycle shop. It's super nice to have a park nearby for getting out for a walk! And it's a great neighborhood to walk in.

Garage parking just for you, as well as easy street parking for an additional car if needed. Note: Though the garage is spacious, the angle of access is awkward, making it best for smaller rigs - SUVs and trucks are usually more comfortable parking out front, where I reserve a spot behind my car for guests.

Bedding: Super comfortable King-size Tempur-Pedic Mattress upstairs and two comfy twin beds in the huge downstairs bedroom.

There's a dedicated office area and plenty of room for your paperwork, if you need it, and high speed internet for those of you who will be working from home while you're here.

As we share a wall (my kitchen/dining/living area on my side, the stairs between your 2 floors for you) as well as a driveway and yard -

- it's important to me to feel that I know who is sharing my place with me. So - this wonderful space is perfect for those who are open and friendly with the host. We'll be communicative, neighborly. :~] That's an essential house rule.

It's just awkward, otherwise! I'm friendly, helpful, and very respectful of your privacy. Don't want to have an unfriendly or standoffish neighbor for a month or more! There are loads of short term rentals where you never need (or get to) interact with your host. Rent there, if that's your preference! Otherwise, let me know who you all are and what brings you to "Oly". :~]

I prefer to only book 3 - 4 months in advance, though that is not an option available for me to select here on VRBO. As we all know, we have no way of knowing what we'll be dealing with around the corner! :~]

Tranquility
The host has done an amazing job creating a relaxing, tranquil indoor space full of extras. The outside garden while not in bloom during my stay is truly magical. I appreciated the attention to detail and the extra attention that she gave before our stay to make sure we were comfortable.

Great place
We were five adults basically needing a comfortable place to sleep during Christmas vacation. We had family in the area that we spent the majority of our time with. The owner met with us and showed us the place and later communicated with us by text. She was mindful of our privacy. We, in turn, tried to follow her house rules as best we could. She has provided a library with an eclectic array of subjects and we found some to read that we enjoyed. Two of the other perks provided were the Wifi and the laundry facilities, both of which we took advantage. We enjoyed our worry free stay at this property.

Fantastic!
We were met by property owner who showed us house and provided valuable information on the area. We used the property as a base for visiting the surrounding National Parks, including Mt. Saint Helens, Mt. Rainier, and the Olympic National Park. We also toured the Capital Building, and thoroughly enjoyed the local restaurants! The place was super clean, and we had a fantastic week!

Amazing and Tranquil
This is an amazing place tucked into a quaint and quiet little neighborhood. The owner, Shanti, personally met us on the first day and gave us the layout of the space. The greeting and hospitality provided by her was unprecedented and greatly appreciated. The space is well laid out with plenty of books and games to use while there. Shanti even provided tennis rackets and a basketball that we used at the local park that was located just a few hundred feet from the house. I have to mention that the garden space that Shanti has created in the back yard made for a nice and peaceful place to read one of those many books from her library. The reason we chose this property was to use it as a base while we hit the coast for one day, Olympic National Park on another, Mt Rainier and even Portland Or. Didn't realize the gem that this place was until we got there. I highly recommend this property to anyone that wants to visit Washington State! It is centrally located, easy to get to around and the owner is just a wonderful person. Happy Trails and safe travels!!!

Intuitive Counselor, Empath, Spiritual Teacher, Clinical Hypnotherapist, NLP Coach. I'm also a green thumb, and finally own my own yard as of Summer, 2017. Fellow gardeners will know what a joy that is! I recently planted the apple tree I grafted 2 years ago, and harvested several varieties of apples that I grafted onto my crabapple tree that same year. So fun! There are now 2 grape arbors here now, too! One variety was there years before I arrived; the other two I grafted, based on grapes that grow well in the Puget Sound, and whose qualities I particularly enjoy. I love to discuss everything from science to spirituality. I'm irreverent, sensitive, silly, love learning, love change. Very friendly in general, sometimes need my down time. Out of the box and a bit rebellious as needed. :~] Raised as a military brat. My favorite places on Earth tend to involve water: Ireland, Salt Spring Island, B.C., Canada, and the Salish Sea area of Washington State. As you can see from these, great heat is not something I tend to need or enjoy! I'm a former: Head Start Lead Teacher, German teacher, Sign Language Interpreter, Resident Manager of a Group Home for Schizophrenic Adults, and Transcendental Meditation teacher. But, wait - there's more! (No, that's enough for here.) It's important to me to greet you personally to orient you to the space. AND: For Winter of 2022/23, we will do a Zoom Meet and Greet and walk-through of your upstairs, both so that I can get to know you, and so that you will know everything you need to know to get the most out of this unique retreat. Then, when you arrive, we will do the downstairs orientation. :~]

Why they chose this property

I've always been a "plant person", and the idea of owning a double lot with mature trees really spoke to me! It's also in a really convenient spot in the city of Olympia, but doesn't feel that way at all. l love being a steward of this land, and love to show people what I'm doing to create more and more of a spiritual and emotional retreat here. This is an perfect place for writing, doing artwork, dancing, reading, yoga, meditation...

What makes this property unique

Quiet, convenient, spacious. Really spacious. And unique. I've set it up to allow you to remember that you used to like to write poetry, or sketch, or do magic tricks, to knit, to do yoga, to read, to gaze out at nature, to have your coffee under quiet trees. And to walk to downtown if you'd like to! Or play basketball or tennis at Lions Park, just a few doors away. I can also show you what I've done here with plant grafting, in that's something you'd be interested in. :~]
