About this property

Come and experience Paradise at Canyon Lake

Looking for something different? A place to relax and not be in a cookie cutter property? Stay in a work of art with the comforts of home? A place where you can take in the Hill Country AND the lake? A place you will always remember for its beauty and its ability to transport you out of the city and into a special place?

If so, Paradise at Canyon may be just the place you want.

You can bring your water toys. There are two free boat ramps with free parking less than one mile away.

The property is water view and at lake level.

The property is a two story duplex with the rental being the entire top story.

Downstairs is our vacation home and it is NEVER rented out. We don’t get to the lake as often as we would like so most of the time the entire property is for the exclusive use of our guests.

Each unit is 100% self contained with considerable sound insulation between them.

We have plenty of free parking available.

You will enjoy watching the deer walk past your window every morning and evening.

You have use of all outdoor decks and furniture. The views are fantastic.

On the lower deck there is a gas fired grill and three outdoor tables each with an umbrella. There is seating for 18+.

There is plenty of night time lighting and both staircases have LED rope lights their entire length assuring you a well lite passage from dusk to dawn. There are lights in the driveway and parking areas.

Grocery store is six miles away along with both fast and sit down food options. EMS/FIRE is two miles away.

River floating options are within 15 minutes. There are options to rent all manner of water craft including speed and pontoon boats and two or three seat jet skis. We have a 24 foot pontoon boat we rent to our guests at a substantial discount.

Army Corp maintains a nice beach area with covered picnic tables nearby.

The dam is open from dawn to sunset and many people walk it’s length with their dogs and take in the view. It’s free and offers a one of a kind view at sunset.

There are two wineries within a mile and over 70 within a 45 mile radius.

San Antonio, Austin, San Marcos, and New Braunfels are all 30 to 50 minutes away.

There are four nearby rivers which tube floaters enjoy and a trip to Wimberley (20 minutes) is a must do item.

The area abounds with live music and most small towns host an old fashioned Texas dance hall.

The oldest dance hall in Texas is 30 minutes away and offers plenty of free events all week long.

Major music headliners will perform at the Whitewater theater 20 minutes from our driveway.

On a clear night you will marvel at how bright and numerous the stars are while sitting on one of our decks enjoying a beverage.

Home security is important to us. Each guest is provided with a PIN good only for the length of their stay there are no key locks to pick or compromise. Smoke detectors are in place along with two totally separate WIDE staircases exiting from both ends of the apartment.

The property is all electric so there is no possibility of leaking gases, even so carbon monoxide detectors are in place.

We want you happy, relaxed, pampered, and safe.

Ask about our pontoon boat. We offer substantial discounts for registered guests.

My wife and I travel extensively both in the USA and in Europe. We enjoy our retreat when we are able to spend time there. Our primary residence is just outside of Houston, Texas.

We only allowed guests to rent the location after our grown children became more involved with their own lives they seldom have the opportunity to use our vacation home. Therefore we elected to open it and share with others.

So far it has been an excellent decision as we have met some wonderful couples and families.

We have stayed in five star resorts and hotels, and off the beaten path. We know what works for us and how both the small and big items can make a difference in the quality of a stay.

We are determined to do it right and welcome you to our little slice of the Texas Hill Country.

Why they chose this property

As of Oct1, 2025 we are waiting for a part for the oven.

We bought this property for several reasons. First my wife of more than 46 years told me to and our adult children and grandchildren fell in love with its charm and beauty.
The location is fantastic. It is close enough to anything you could possibly want or need but has a country feeling and a sense of privacy.

The air is clean the sky is bright at night and the view of the lake is awesome.

I am glad momma told me to sign on the dotted line.

What makes this property unique

Waiting for an oven part. Range is working as is the micro wave and gas grill.

The house is unlike any home you have ever lived in or visited. It is an open concept with striking murals from floor to ceiling and even on some of the ceilings.

The two bedrooms were set up for a husband and wife. One is painted pink including the ceiling. The other is blue, again with a blue ceiling. Light tones in both cases.

In the kitchen there is a large island bar with bar stools. Outside the doors are tables and chairs waiting for your arrival with a cool beverage in hand. Of course in the morning a hot coffee or tea works well.

The view is expansive and due to the flood plain there will be no new construction to clutter it in the future.

Children have room to play under the watchful eye of their parents.

River tubing is all around us in the Guadalupe and Comal Rivers. The San Marcos and Blanco rivers are nearby as well.

There are many restaurants and clubs with both indoor and outdoor entertainment and it is a rare event for anyone to charge a cover charge. Just sit and listen and enjoy.

Each small town has a dancehall and often they give free country dance lessons to whomever is ready to shake a leg.

Honestly, we have never had anyone visit who was not amazed with both the space and the surroundings.

Our goal is to keep it that way for now and in the future.
