Great, clean cottage

This property is a cute, quiet place to stay in the middle of New Braunfels and San Marcos. It was immaculately clean and beds were comfortable and had plenty of private parking. Highly recommend!

Great Spot!@

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was very comfortable and perfect for our fur baby. She had the whole yard to herself and we did also. The location was perfect to get to Wimberly and New Braunfels We would definitely stay again in the future.

Perfect!!

We had a wonderful stay at this VRBO! The home was not only family-friendly but also pet-friendly, which was a huge plus for us. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed, and everything was set up perfectly for our needs. The beautiful and clean environment added to the overall enjoyment of our stay. It was the ideal accommodation for attending a wedding in town. Highly recommend!

Hill Country Paradise

Our hosts were so wonderful and gave us all the info we needed in advance. The shade and outdoor environment is super. They welcomed our 2 small dogs and were very reasonable with providing for the dogs' safety and keeping the property sparkling clean.

4th of july weekend

The space was so nice and relaxing. Our doggy is a rescue, so he is a little nervous getting out and about. This is his first trip with us. And he did fantastic here, the space is so convenient and made for a easy getaway. The owners were very helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had.

Ollie's Cottage was wonderful VERY dog friendly!

Ollie's Cottage was wonderful and on beautiful property. The owners were awesome, we couldn't get out of the cottage one morning because of the heavy rains in Wimberly and they brought us a fabulous lunch, so thoughtful. It is a perfect getaway especially if you want to have your pet with you. Plenty of room for the dog to roam around outside in a fenced in yard.

Perfect!

Absolutely wonderful stay! We sat outside under the trees from sun-up to sun-down talking, reading, and enjoying the beautiful weather. The dogs were free to roam and sniff. Everything was just right - the beds were comfortable, the indoor/outdoor run gave my dogs a safe place to go out after dark without me. Loved everything about this place!

Quick Trip to the Hill Country

Awesome property. It was very clean with wonderful attention to detail from the property managers. Communication was quick and check in was seamless. We stayed with our Golden Retriever who is a bit spoiled and does not travel well. She was very comfortable here. The location is great, Quiet yet still close enough to everything. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful Host

We needed to move our TXST student into his dorm but wanted to avoid boarding our dog. This was a fantastic home. We truly enjoyed the time we were able to stay in the house. The host reached out numerous times to check on us. Also, I noticed the little things. There were plenty of towels and washcloths. There was adequate shelving in the bathroom to allow everyone to keep their stuff in the bathroom. The host left a nice note at the beginning of our stay, suggesting nearby restaurants. The dog door and run were excellent, and I felt safe. We will stay at this property again.

Property was amazing! Great for dogs

We really enjoyed our time at Ollie’s cottage. Everything was immaculate. Great bedding and towels. Far exceeded our expectations. The dog kennel and turnout was so clean as well. Our dog came with us on most excursions, but when we went for dinner we used the kennel. It was so nice knowing he was safe and happy. Close to Wimberely. We loved the hiking trails at blue hole and Purgatory. We will definitely stay again.

T.H.E. Best!

Hands down the very best VRBO experience we have ever had. Jeanne, Elroy and Lisa could teach a master class on communication and hosting. I feel as though we've made some new friends. Simply wonderful stay with delightful surroundings. The home and indoor /outdoor dog kennel was perfect for our pooch. Beds were exceptionally comfortable; we're buying our next bed identical to the one in Ollie's cottage. You can't go wrong staying with Ollie's Country Cottage. Would stay again and again.

Wonderful experience

We stayed in November for three nights. It was a wonderful experience. Lisa was very helpful in the booking process and also helped out for check in. The weather was supposed to be bad and she texted me throughout the day to give me updates on my way to the cottage. There was a welcome sign for our dogs, Taylor and Zoe. The cottage was very clean and we loved the dog run and fenced back yard. We will definitely be back.

More than we expected~

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property! There were so many details that made our stay enjoyable. From the moment we walked up to the front door, we felt so welomed. There were chairs, side tables and a chiminea set up that was so inviting. Upon entering the house, we were amazed at how comfortable and welcoming we felt. Including our fur baby. Everything was set up to be comfortable and relaxing which was just what we needed. Thank you.

Fantastic location and perfect for our dog loving fam

We loved loved loved this property. Less than 10 min drive to Wimberley. We ate at the Leaning Pear and Creekhouse for dinners which were our faves. Chill’s by the creek was good for lunch. Took kids to natural bridge caverns and then had lunch at the Gristmill and went to Gruene hall. Canyon lake was a fun day trip too- weather was chilly in March, would love to come back in summer. The house had everything we needed. Wi-Fi worked great. Dogs loved running in the yard and we built a fire in the chiminea almost every night. The dog run was awesome and they loved the doggy door.

Cozy & Comfortable for Humans and Pets

This cottage worked very well for our 11 day stay. I like the size - even though there were only 2 of us and our dog, it was nice to have the extra space which the dining room and extra bedroom provided. The cottage is very comfortably appointed. It was great to be able to let our dog out to roam the fenced front yard as well. Our phone service is Verizon and it worked fairly well and provided mobile hot-spot Internet connectivity pretty consistently. But, it did impact our data plan, so that's something to be aware of. I definitely recommend this property for those staying in the Texas Hill Country.

Weekend at the Cottage

The property was very well maintained. The cottage was very well done and comfortable. We especially liked the dog crate / dog door set up. One of the dogs had an issue with doing his business on the pebbles, but eventually came around. The description did not say anything about no grass on the property. There really is not a good place to walk the dogs except on the highway. But overall it was a great and relaxing experience.

About the host

Hosted by Jeanne & Elroy and Lisa

Host profile image
Elroy Jonas was born and raised in New Braunfels, Texas. Back in the days, he and his family lived on his Great Opa's homestead plantation raising crops and livestock. After months of rain, the family was forced to move to another location, so the Canyon Lake Dam could be built. Today, the Jonas Ranch (est 1940s) is 4th generation!

Why they chose this property

The Jonas Ranch was purchased in the early 1940s and still holds natural wildlife and many breeds of sheep. Spring fed water runs through Purgatory Creek on the ranch and part of the ranch includes the Devils Backbone with breathtaking views from at top.
