Casa Dora Cottage is the perfect escape for couples or small families. This doll house includes a welcoming front porch with some unique touches - comfy wicker rocker, antique stained glass window and copper overhead lantern! Located only three miles from the Wimberley Square in a rural residential neighborhood, Casa Dora accommodates up to four guests and offers two fabulous river parks and a (seasonal) community pool for guests to enjoy.

This curated casa offers luxury with all the accommodations travelers look for in a comfortable and cozy getaway. Stylish Texas décor thoughtfully collected with a few bluebonnets, retro maps of cherished Texas sites, and lovely furnishings create a unique, fun, and casual setting.

The living space offers an open living concept with plenty of natural light for guests to enjoy while deer watching or a bingeing on a favorite streaming series on the smart TV. The kitchen, dining, and bar area are an ideal gathering space to spend time with family and friends and share a meal, play games or put together a jigsaw puzzle. The kitchen offers all the necessities to prepare favorite meals, and the coffee bar offers a perfect start to your mornings with a warm cup of coffee or tea. Enjoy our beautiful Texas evenings gathered around the fire pit with a glass of your favorite beverage.

Sleep well in one of the two colorful bedrooms each hosting a queen bed and lovely linens. The bathroom offers a full-size glassed-in shower for a spa-like feel, a single sink, generous vanity area, and is supplied with towels/shampoo/soap/hair dryer.

Spend the days swimming, tubing, rafting, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, or just relaxing alongside the tranquil river at one of the two semi-private Blanco River parks. Guests will find the river parks are within walking distance or a short car ride from the home. (Please read the notes in the house to familiarize yourself with the rules and regulations of the parks).

This house was perfect. It was such a joy to walk into. The kitchen was well equipped, the decor was so inviting, the gazebo was a wonderful place to sit and enjoy a morning coffee. We hope to return in the future.

Wonderful Stay

We stayed for over two weeks in March 2024. The home was clean and well appointed. Very comfortable with a nice front porch we had coffee on most mornings. The internet was amazing so we could do our work and Teams calls with no issues. The river is just a 10 minute walk from the home and gorgeous. The neighborhood is a very quiet family setting....Lots of deer come right up to the home. Will hopefully be back next year!!!

I'm a native Texan and have lived most of my life in Houston, Texas. I'm a Texas Aggie; however, I'm probably the only Aggie who doesn't follow football! I do love to watch the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band, though.

The best part of hosting is that I love connecting with people and sharing our unique stories. I love to make people feel comfortable and enjoy their surroundings. My passion is fixing up old houses that have a history and character, and if I won the lottery I'd buy as many as I could and renovate them for vacation rentals!

Why they chose this property

I chose Cedar Oak Mesa because it has a nice communal feel, and the Blanco River parks are a nice asset. It's a little funky (in a good way), out-of-the-way hidden treasure!

What makes this property unique

Casa Dora is a labor of love - I named it after my favorite cat, Dora the Explorer (shhh...don't tell my other cats!). I enjoyed every minute of working on it and getting ready for guests, and I hope my guests can feel the warmth and love I've put into my place.
