Log Cabin Get Away-River Access with Deep Water, Pets OK, Rustic Cute

The Log Cabin Getaway is a quaint, comfortable, and beautifully appointed vacation home in the peaceful town of Wimberley. It is perfect for a family retreat, girls get-away, or couple's weekend in a tranquil setting. Let the kids feed the deer and play in our Kiddie Corner! Check out the neighborhood pool and basketball court. Lounge under the canopy of trees, watch the deer, or enjoy one of our two Private River Parks on the Blanco River.

At over 1650 square feet, the cabin is spacious and has a great floor plan with room for everyone. The 3-bedroom house has one bedroom downstairs with a queen-size bed. There is a full bath with a claw foot tub/shower. The large den has a sleeper sofa with a queen size memory foam mattress.

The exceptionally large master bedroom upstairs has a comfortable King bed. The third bedroom upstairs has two twin beds. Both bedrooms share a bathroom with a unique skylight and river rock tile in the shower.

The kitchen is completely stocked with everything you need to prepare meals for your group. The round dining table seats six and the drop leaf table in the den allows for more dining or a convenient desk. Check out the cute tree truck stools! My grandkids love them.

Did I mention all the necessities? Central air/heat, nice ceiling fans, high capacity and dependable Wi-Fi, good hot water supply, washer/dryer, cozy beds, gas grill...and always coffee! Smore's fixins are ready for you in the kitchen so you can sit around the campfire. We think smore's are necessary!

The Old Glory Ranch is only a mile down the road. The town square of Wimberley, which is full of great shops, restaurants and grocery stores, is only a 3.2-mile drive away along the beautiful Blanco River. Market days, which is the largest outdoor market in Texas Hill Country, is held the first Saturday of the month (March - December) and less than 10 minutes away. Don't forget Blue Hole, Jacob's Well, Hamilton Pool and the many wineries in the area. Try the Wimberley Zip Line to get the best views of the area!

Our property has access to two Private River Parks within walking or driving distance. Across River Road you will find one of the few "deep water" swimming holes in the area where you can try out the rope swing. (.4 miles/7-minute walk) The second park has a gradual beach front and picnic tables. (.5 miles/9-minute walk) It's a wonderful place to hang out and ride the small rapids here repeatedly. Our family does!

Fire up the gas grill, cook s'mores at the fire pit, have lunch on the 7' picnic table, relax in the hammock or swing in the large wooden swing under the outside string lights. With its peaceful setting and unique features, you will never want to leave the Log Cabin Get Away!

Great getaway

The house was great. Super clean with plenty of towels. Our boys loved the play ground in the yard and watching the deer. Wonderful access to the river whether you walked or drove. Our family is looking forward to another trip to this cabin soon.

Nice Quite Get Away

We mainly used the cabin as a base camp for jumping off to other areas in the Hill Country. The cabin had all the basic necessities for us and then some. Nice and quiet area with two river access areas. Cabin even included deer greeting us every morning demanding breakfast LOL.

This property was an excellent and amazing find! I highly recommend it. The home was clean, consistent with the photos and descriptions, and very accessible. It was a great place for us (7 of us) to gather, cook and play games. Wimberley and vineyards were easily accessible. Will certainly return.

Serene, beautiful, and just what our family needed

There was nothing that we needed that could not be found in the quaint cabin and the whole trip was amazingly perfect. I’m really hoping to go back as soon as possible. My 11 year old daughter and 7 year old son had a great time playing by the creek next to the cabin and the fire pit was exactly what we were expecting. Cozy family stay

This was exactly what we were looking for. The house is so pretty and cozy! My teenage boys loved it. They had plenty of space inside and around the property, they could safely walk to take a splash on the lake on different (and pretty exclusive) spots. We fell head over heals in love with feeding the deers every morning and afternoons. The shops downtown are AMAZING! It was awesome vacation for the whole family, including our dog. Just perfect. Beautiful log home, very clean, great communication w/ host Denise, had all utensils/cooking supplies, enjoyed the smores supplies & campfire. Downstairs Queen bed comfortable, upstairs Queen a little stiff. Road to town is a little rough, and seemed like it was a ways back from town (only like 3 miles, lol seemed farther at 25mph) A few minor improvement opportunities to consider, could use a Keurig coffeemaker w/ pods, and may want to update pets info on listing (states up to 2 dogs allowed, but when we asked we were told we couldn’t bring our dogs, which was disappointing)

Wonderful Getaway for the New Year

We spent four lovely nights here and said goodbye to 2020. We loved everything about the cabin. It was the cleanest rental we’ve ever stayed in and we’ve stayed in many. We loved the fire pit and s’more fixings and spent a lot of time near the fire. We loved seeing the many deer everyday. I liked the coffee maker so much that I bought one for our house and one for my office. Thanks for providing essentials like coffee filters and various kitchen gadgets. The kitchen had everything we needed and I appreciate how well organized everything was. Communication was top notch. Thanks for letting us stay and for allowing our Boston Terriers. We will be back.

Birthday Weekend

Overall our stay was enjoyable and the space suited our needs. Only reason not 5stars across the board is that it was still pretty warm when arrived and fridge seemed to have just been turned back on - hence 8-10 hours to cool down and hold food safely. Pool and surrounding area has seen better days and was closed. Other than those minor things: We were there for the river and it did not disappoint! Park #2 was amazing for our family with littles and cooled us off in the midst of this heat wave! Loved the cement floors and the AC really helped keep us cool once it caught up. The deer were a favorite of the kids for sure. Will definitely keep this one on the list to return!

Great family vacation stay

This log cabin near the Blanco River was the ideal stay for our family: 6 adults, a teenager and a seven year old. (Including our two family pets. The house was situated in a pleasant, tree shaded lot, private and peaceful. The outdoor yard includes playground, several hangout spots. Even with in the hot, summer weather, we enjoyed our morning coffee on the porch watching the deer cruising the neighborhood. Access to the Blanco was convenient, easy 5 min. drive to the river. Even in the hot/dry Texas summer the river was flowing with sufficient water for our whole family and pets to enjoy. Wimberly and an HEB were convenient for supplies and/or fun. Our family enjoys cooking and grilling. The kitchen was well equipped and a good working grill on porch. We would definitely return.

Charming woods get away

Love the huge trees and shady location. It was so comforting in this oppressive 100+ degrees. The cabin was even more charming in person. We were all excited exploring the space. I was worried the AC might not be great due to the high temperatures but it was perfectly cool the whole time. I once again failed to read through ALL of the information and we brought our own floats. DO NOT BRING FLOATS (lol) They had a BUNCH in the shed ready to go along with other fun things. The deer! Got up early and enjoyed some one on one time with the deer. Fed them a bunch of corn from the shed and there were 15 at one point. So cool. Hosts were super responsive. Would love to stay again Awesome place

We loved staying at the Log Cabin Get Away. The hosts thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. There are detailed directions and instructions posted at the cabin. They have lots of games, both indoor and outdoor, pool and river floats, coffee, fixings for s'mores, beach and bath towels, full size shampoo, conditioner, body wash, everything you could think of! They have all the extras just in case you forgot something. I was very impressed and would highly recommend.

We LOVED our stay at the log cabin! We had our family of 7 with a baby and it accommodated all of us. All amenities you could need to stay for the week. From kitchen needs to baby items, etc. The pool and 2 private Blanco River entrances were a huge hit for us! Being 10 min from town was a bonus. We will definitely be back. Jim and Denise have the perfect hill country spot!

When we were stationed in Hawaii, Jim's family was stationed in Alaska. Somehow, we both landed in Biloxi, Mississippi and began our lives together.
