Rio Casita (Little River House) is located in the middle of a beautifully wooded acre of land on the pristine Blanco River. The clear, cool, spring fed river is ideal for kicking back, relaxing, and enjoying nature. Drive the short three miles along River Road that flanks the Blanco into Wimberley, and take a shopping spree through some of the most unique shops you will see anywhere.

This is a very romantic spot with plenty of privacy. The kids and pets will love it also. Walk down the easy sloping hill from your back porch and directly into the river. Great swimming and wading and a superior place to enjoy an ice cold adult beverage. It's all here, come and see!

After fun in the sun and the river, head back to the house to enjoy all the ammenities: outdoor grill, great backporch for hanging out, gourmet kitchen - everything you need, except the food. When the sun sets the fire flys appear.

The host was very quick to respond when I contacted her. The cable box for one of the televisions needed to be replaced and the host took care of this within a few hours.

Anniversary getaway

The home is conveniently located near town but far enough away for peace and quiet. The house is well maintained and equipped. The fireflies at night are beautiful. We were able to see abundant wildlife from deer to wild turkey. The river is a bit low due to drought but was still very nice and relaxing. JP's barbecue is close and has great food.

The house was cozy and the beds were comfortable. It was nice to be out in the country with all the nature and wildlife at our doorstep. Also appreciated the ability to walk down to the river and hang out! I would recommend more comfortable seating in the living room and a better stocked kitchen. We spent some of our days entirely at the house and did not feel like there was adequate cookware to make dinner. Otherwise, had a wonderful time staying and exploring Wimberley!

We enjoyed our stay at the property - it was clean, quiet, and had all the basics we needed. We especially enjoyed the outdoor space and proximity to the Wimberley town center.

A peaceful, private getaway

We had a wonderful three-night stay here, and it was so nice to be able to bring our (large) dog with us! All of us enjoyed wading in the river (it was pretty low at the time but still fun), we saw the moon rise over the hill, we enjoyed watching many birds in the backyard, and we just generally enjoyed being together, reading and doing puzzles, and often just taking in the peace and quiet of the property. The house is much larger and brighter than pictures suggest. If this property added a hot tub, it would be the cherry on top, but it's wonderful either way. We hope to return soon!

Spend time in paradise

For humans and dogs this property is perfect. The house is great for friends or families with 3 bedrooms so everyone has a quiet place. The patio overlooking the river is so relaxing and a great place to watch over children and pets playing in the fenced yard. The home is well equipped and very comfortable.

We had a great stay. The house was comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The road to get there was longer than we thought but still close enough to easily get to town. The river was very low.

Very enjoyable. Quiet atmosphere to sit on back porch and read, think and visit with friends. Short distances to great eating establishments. Thoroughly enjoyed the glass blowing factory and did some Christmas shopping.

Relaxing Getaway

We had a fantastic stay at Rio Casita. It’s the perfect house overlooking the beautiful, scenic Blanco River, and it has a great fenced-in yard for our dog. Also enjoyed the outdoor activities in Wimberley and surrounding area. We'll be back!

Mother/Daughter getaway!

This was the perfect place for a few days of relaxation. The house was very warm and comfortable. We had everything we needed. We loved sitting on the patio in the morning and watching the deer then heading down to the water to sit and relax while taking in the scenery. We look forward to coming back!

We didn’t want to leave

Our family spent the weekend here with our two dogs. The kids and the dogs loved playing in the river and chasing fireflies. The adults loved sitting on the porch enjoying a cup of coffee. The beds were super comfortable. The kitchen was a dream. We will be back!

Lovely Retreat

Beautiful spot on the Blanco River to get away and relax. Comfortable home! Very responsive property manager! Close to town but feel like you are able to get away from everything and enjoy nature. Saw lots of deer, birds and a pair of coyotes!

Lovely River House

The property is very pretty. Inside and out. Nicely decorated and a view of the river. Comfortable porch furniture, which we used a lot! Coffee provided which I enjoyed. A good bed, plenty of dishes, pots and pans to cook with. A restful and enjoyable stay:)

Friendly, safe river.

A nice chateau that allowed us to control and support our dogs to take the best advantage of the river providing separate front and backyard self contained yards to offer them solitude from one another when desired.

My husband and I fell in love with Wimberley. When we found Rio Casita, we just had to purchase it. We love being there and use it as a family get away. We love the quietness, the wild life and the easy pace that this place offers. We are very happy that we can share all of that with you.

Why they chose this property

We love being on the water and the Blanco is just right for us and our dogs. Our golden retriever thinks he is in Heaven when he is there.

What makes this property unique

Relax, relax, relax...pull a chair out into the middle of the river; read; walk; listen to nature or just sit on the back porch. A unique place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. However, if you demand a little more activity in your life, the Village of Wimberley is just 2 miles down the road.
