Our family arrived to find a perfect setting
for a long weekend getaway. The house was beautiful designed to accommodate adults and children. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer.

Bellingham weekend
I rented the house for a group of 8 for a wedding we were attending nearby and it worked perfectly. The house is on a corner lot so very quiet and no noise from neighbors, with lots of privacy. The back patio was great to sit and visit as a group and the kitchen is a great area for cooking and hanging out as a group. I would definitely rent this house again!

Golf vacation with friends
Upon check in, the VRBO had not been cleaned and serviced from the previous guests. We contacted the owners, who were out of state, and they got their cleaning crew over in approximately an hour. The owners graciously paid for a portion of our dinner out that evening. The crew performed a cursory cleaning; basically the beds were made and the bathrooms were cleaned ( we hope). We were each (four of us) left with a miniature towel and hand towel. There were no spares. The only bathroom amenity was a plastic bottle of foam hand soap on each sink. One bottle contained a watered down solution. Bring your own soap for the shower. Also, one downstairs bathroom had only two knobs to hold towels for four people. There was no tv, which really wasn’t a factor for our group, but it might have been nice to catch the news over morning coffee. The house was comfortable, but the overall experience could be improved if some of these issues are addressed. For the rate charged, things like bath soap and decent towels should certainly be included.

Hi Tom. Huge apologies for the cleaning mixup. Our crew simply forgot to come that day. Also, we thought the $150 gift card for dinner would have covered the bill for the 4 of you. Apologies that it only covered a portion.
As for your other comments, I realize that some guests expect a more hotel-like experience - multiple towels and fresh bars of soap. We will think about whether we want to provide that in the future. The lack of tv was part of the listing and will not change - we work very hard to keep our kids off screens as much as possible!
Again, I’m very sorry that the cleaning crew did not perform well for you and I hope you still enjoyed most of your stay.

Great house, but lack of attention to details and poorly maintainedd
The house did work well for us with a very nice great room.
It has a convenient location in a residential neighbor close to many amenities. However, I don't know how it received only five star reviews. We were disappointed in attention to detail, and the pictures must be at least 10 years old. The basement, where three of the four bedrooms are located, is dark and musty. The picture of the outside of the house is completely inaccurate as vines and a fence block the light into the basement. The kitchen has lots of utensils but also lots of junk drawers. Minor annoyances included the cleanliness of the house. They provided the absolute minimal number of towels and no washclothes. We arrived to a full dishwasher and had to unload it first thing. Shattered glass was on the floor of master bathroom suggesting that it hadn't been cleaned carefully. Other things were very specific to the owner's taste: the basement flooring is black tile rubber mats like a gym, and there were very few places to hang clothes as the closets were full of shelves. Outside, the yard is totally overgrown with weeds. This seemed strange since the owners clearly have put a lot of effort into planting.

Hi Lisa. I’m so sorry to hear that our house was not to your liking. I will certainly talk to our cleaners about being more attentive to details.
As for the decor of the house and the state of the yard, it sounds like we simply have different styles. We love the basement bedrooms because they are cool in the summer, warm in the winter and conducive to sleeping. We love our natural yard with its dozens of fruit trees and native landscaping. I will be sure to update the photos as you’re correct that the landscaping has really filled in over the past few years. It sounds like you prefer a more manicured look!
Yes, we provide one bath towel and one hand towel for each guest which I believe should be sufficient, since there is also a laundry.
In any case, I respect your opinions and wish you more luck in the future finding the type of home that better fits your style.
Eight adults here three nights for a nearby wedding. The house is set up perfectly to hang out together or find a quiet spot in or outside to read a book.
Thanks for the easy stay.
Loved this house. Great for a couples reunion trip.
Went up to Bellingham with three other couples to visit a friend who lives in the area. This house is everything you could ask for if what you are looking for is a a room for everyone, and multiple places to have long extended catch up conversions conversation between hikes, breweries, and eating farm to table food.
We loved this property’s house, yard, and gardens! The owners were great to work with us from all the way across the country to get the AC going during the heat wave and the house was spacious enough to accommodate our large group very comfortably. Great in-town location close to the bay and Whatcom Falls where we cooled off in gorgeous, sparkling waters. We loved our time here!

Fine place for a family get-together
Our second stay at Amy's place reminded us of how much we loved staying there. The great room setup with living room, dining area, and kitchen all together on the middle floor makes this a terrific place to socialize during meal prep, meals, and after. All the wood gives it a warm feel. The options to tap into the speaker system wirelessly made it easy to share our holiday music. The bedrooms up and down provide private areas away from the center of action. The kitchen is easy to work in and had everything we needed. Thanks, Amy, for working out the timing for us! - Steve & Tami

Beautiful and comfortable
Everything was smooth, comfortable, and perfect. The house and beautifully landscaped grounds made for a very nice stay. The owner was helpful and responsive. Eating peaches, grapes, apples, and kale, fresh from the garden, was an added bonus!

Wonderful, Comfortable Home
With 7 adults, 3.5 baths and 4 bedrooms, this is one of the most comfortable and beautiful homes we have rented on VRBO. We stayed over Christmas and it was very nice that the owners had set up a tree and decorations. The open kitchen/great room is perfect for hosting family meals. The house has large windows and wood floors but maintained a very comfortable temperature despite the snow outside. The host provided a coffee maker; however we brought our own hot water kettle and French press (we like our coffee and tea!). The kitchen is well-equipped for meals. It was nice to be a short walk to Trader Joe's! The owners are very helpful if you have questions.

Wonderful home, spacious and clean!
Very nice, clean home - plenty of sleeping spaces with comfy beds! Host is responsive and flexible. We were in town for a wedding and this house was perfect to accommodate an extended family with ages ranging from 2 to 55. The playroom was perfect for the early rising two year old! We loved the front porch in the morning and the back porch at night. Great location, very close to trader joes! We would definitely rent again! Thanks!!

AMAZING NEIGHBORHOOD!
We stayed for two nights and we loved it! Tons of space for our family including 3 teenagers and our parents. Owners were extremely flexible and accommodating. The house was clean and spacious, had everything we needed to prepare our own meals, great neighborhood to take walks in, close to downtown, close to WWU, etc.
We had a fantastic time and would stay again!
