About this property
Kokomo: the Place to Go to Get Away from it All with GULF VIEWS
At 148 Aruba Drive there's a place called Kokomo. It’s where you wanna go to get away from it all!
Just a few steps to the world's most beautiful white sandy beach and crystal clear blue water. Enjoy watching the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico from the deck or view the pristine beach from every room. Minutes from one of Florida's purest and most natural bays, where fish and scallops are abundant.
The only sound you will hear is the crashing of the waves. You will share this beach with more Loggerhead Turtles, Bald Eagles, and other native wildlife than people. This is eco-tourism at its finest.
Kokomo provides about 1600 square feet of living space. This includes two bedrooms and two baths on the main level. The master bedroom has a king-size bed. The second bedroom has a queen-size. It also offers a large loft (two full-size beds and a queen-size sleeper sofa). The family room, dining room, and kitchen are open and spacious. The dining room accommodates eight while four may sit at the bar overlooking the kitchen.
The deck is also perfect for relaxing and watching sunsets that rival those off the Florida Keys. Ample covered parking for vehicles and space for accommodating a modest boat and trailer (please inquire regarding size restrictions).
There are no ferris wheels, IHOPs, or tacky T-shirt shops. This is old Florida - thankfully, the Forgotten Coast of Florida. However, it is only a short drive to historic Apalachicola and only about an hour to Panama City.
We have books, board games, videos, and toys for all ages. Come get away from it all and enjoy the natural rhythms of our Kokomo!

We absolutely loved this place! The location is amazing, the property is user friendly, easy to enjoy, and easy to maintain for guests. I would definitely stay here again.
Absolutely love this place! It was super clean and very nice. Had everything you could possibly need for your stay. Was steps from the water and the neighborhood was quiet and friendly. The owners were great to work with and responded quickly with any questions we had. Will definitely be recommending this place to family and friends and coming back next year!

Sarah, you were one of the most delightful renters I’ve interacted with during a stay at our beach place! I’m happy that you had a great time. Hope you have a safe trip home.
Incredible location, close to the general store, really close to the beach front. Inside was very well appointed and tasteful as it was functional. Outside space was minimally appointed. Will definitely be staying here again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend staying in this property on the Cape. It was perfect for a family of four as well as our small dog. The home was very comfortable and accommodating for our group. Just a few steps to the beach conveniently located near the Trading Post and seafood market.
We had no idea what to expect, but the Cape was beautiful! The area was much quieter and more relaxed than other areas we have been on 30A. The location was perfect with easy access to the beach, Trading Post, donuts, ice cream, and a few restaurants!

We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Curious why you rated it 3 stars since we are unaware of any issues during your stay. Please let me know what we can do to improve. This is only the 2nd or 3rd time in nearly 20 years that we received a rating less than 5 stars.
We had a wonderful time staying here for spring break. Very short walk to the beach and also to the trading post which has everything you need for a perfect beach getaway. The home was very clean and had plenty of kitchen and cleaning items which made our stay easy and enjoyable. Would stay here again! Thank you for sharing your home.
Great location. Plenty of covered parking. Clean. The beach was a little more crowded than we expected. Also lots of people fishing from the beach around us.

Excellent stay for our family and dogs!
The Kokomo was an excellent place to stay for our large family and dogs. Plenty of room to move and the dining room table for 8 was perfect. We ate all our meals there. Kitchen had everything we needed. Sunsets were stunning. Got firewood at the store close by for bonfires. Had a few small issues that the owner took care of the same day. Quick walk to beach. Thanks for sharing your home!

Property is very nice and updated.
When we arrived there was roofers who were there for 2 days, would have been finished before our arrival but were delayed due to 2 days of bad weather. The owner was kind enough to refund a portion of our money due to the inconvience of the roofers. Overall we had a great time, the house itself was large, very nicely decorated and a very short walk to the beach. Would definitely recommend this property.

Thanks so much for your review. Glad the new roof is finished. I was as unhappy about them not finishing on time as you were - believe me. Thanks for being so understanding.
My husband and I had such a wonderful, relaxing vacation here with our dog. We LOVED how dog friendly this house was. The couches all had covers, which made cleaning such a breeze. We enjoyed many nights relaxing on the deck with our dog, listening to the ocean. The townhouse is a quick walk to the beach! I’m pregnant, and our dog is anti exercise and even he didn’t mind the walk! Haha. Our dog is crate trained, and there was plenty of room in the house for his crate. This house was truly perfect for us, and we can’t wait to book our next vacation here!
Also, we highly recommend eating at Hunts Oyster Bar and trying Webers Donuts!
My family spent a great weekend before sending the kids back to school. The property was clean and comfortable. Beach access is very close, which is nice. Pet friendly! Parking is a little tight if you drive a taller vehicle, but is manageable. Overall, great place to stay. Would recommend!
Location was great! Walking distance to Weber’s Donuts and to get ice cream! Short walk to the beach! House was cute. Decorated nicely! Would def stay there again!
We had a wonderful time at Kokomo. Everything you might need was provided. The home is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The owner checked in and made us feel very welcome. We would love to return on future trips.
We had a great time. There were 10 of us, and we never felt cramped. The house has a view of the gulf and is an easy walk to the beach. The owners are very responsive and furnished the house with everything we could want or need. Would definitely rent this house again.

Okay Stay
We had an okay stay at Kokomo. Cape San Blas is beautiful and the location was good. it is super close to the trading post which was nice. The bike trail is incredible, along with the state park. We felt like the place needed a deep clean. Trash was overflowing the trash can outside when we arrived. Baseboards were missing and painters tape was found around the condo. Lots of dust and dirt seen around the air vents. It was an “okay” place to stay for a few nights which is why I gave a 3/5 star review.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the location of our house but disappointed that it didn't meet your cleanliness expectations as that is of paramount importance to us. We've had issues with the current garbage pick-up provider as have others on the Cape since Gulf County switched companies. I pay for garbage pick-up twice a week and have called BCC multiple times to correct missed pick-ups. Since Hurricane Michael (cat 5) destroyed much of the gulf coast finding and scheduling repairs and renovations has proved nearly impossible. We were recently fortunate enough to find someone to extend a closet in order to accommodate moving the washer & dryer upstairs rather than its original location under the house. However, because of back-to-back rentals, the baseboards haven't been added to the new section of the wall. At least it did get painted and the painter's tape should be removed. We also plan to replace all of the baseboards around the entire house to match the ones with the newly installed shiplap. We also feel blessed to have had the exterior siding replaced with Hardie Board, a new roof, new fireplace, new quartz kitchen counter tops, new stove & microwave, new refrigerator, new granite kitchen sink, a new custom tiled master shower with glass doors, a new master bath vanity, a new guest bathtub & shower, and a ceiling fan/light added to the master bedroom in addition to canned lights installed throughout. We also poured concrete under the house where it was gravel before making it much easier to leave the sand at the beach rather than tracking it into the house. As you can tell we've been busy with improvements and spent about $100k on the property since the hurricane despite insurance only covering about $6k of the cost. I'm hopeful you can understand my surprise about the complaint of missing baseboards and painters tape. Dust around the vents, however, is inexcusable and I have discussed this with my housekeeper. I was there about a week prior to your arrival and made note of a few minor items to which needed her attention but I don't recall seeing dust around the vents. Sorry I missed that. I did, however, dust the blinds, wipe cabinet doors, wipe kitchen baseboards, and vacuum the AC return closet as well as the sliding bathroom door myself as I do each time I visit. I'm thankful I had time to attend to those areas so I didn't have to rely on someone else to know it was clean. Please note, we have never had less than a 5 star review and it's very disappointing that your experience was anything less. I assure you we have addressed your concerns and will continue to make improvements to the property as possible. We would love for you to give us another chance to improve your experience.
We got together with our children who are grown and live in different cities. We had the very best time staying in Cape San Blas. Kokomo was a great find and we will be re-booking. Beautiful place very well situated and very friendly owners!
We stayed here for a week. Super.close to the beach. However, since beach restoration and hurricane beach is hard to access. Not homeowners problem, mother nature's. But my kids liked the "space" and the hose was very well kept up. Super great location on the peninsula!

We live in Tallahassee, Florida. We have two children. Our oldest is married with children. Our youngest is a teenager. We love the beach. This is a little slice of our heaven. We would love to share it with you.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with this area when we visited. It is not congested like most beaches. Our house is spacious with two bedrooms, two baths as well as the kitchen and dining on one level. It is about 80 steps to the beach and has a large deck. Perfect for a quiet get away!
What makes this property unique
Our house is walking distance to The Trading Post, a quaint convenient store that provides those incidental items you might have forgotten. They also offer donuts made on-site but go early because they will sell out.
