This cheerful Duck cottage is an easy 6 minute walk to our well maintained neighborhood beach. Located on a private tree lined lot, our cottage is surrounded by all things nature. It’s the perfect place to relax and watch birds or to enjoy the sunshine on one of the decks. The upper level living room is filled with natural light and large windows making it a great place for entertaining. The screened in porch is a comfortable place to enjoy your favorite evening beach beverage or coffee in the morning. The lower level features 3 bedrooms and a sitting room. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, private bathroom and access to the back deck. The 2nd bedroom features a queen size bed with access to the back deck as well. The 3rd bedroom offers a twin over full bunk bed. If the beach isn’t enough to entertain you, we have flat screen TVs located in the main living room and sitting room. We also offer free WIFI, games, bikes, corn hole, carts, dog beds/bowls, a bbq and much more! Please take care of our home and we’ll take care of you! Come see all that Duck has to offer!

Excellent stay in Outer Banks

We had a wonderful time in the Outer Banks and really enjoyed Carri's house. The booking and follow up were easy as the owner is very responsive and helpful. The house is very comfortable in a great location. It has a well stocked kitchen so cooking is a breeze. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Sanctuary with our dogs

We enjoyed this spacious beach retreat with our 2 dogs. I met up with 2 longtime friends for a week of beach relaxation and chance for us to catch up. It was a bonus to be able to bring our pets instead of having to board them. The place was clean and very spacious with more decks and outdoor space than we ever could have asked for.

Spring Break Trip

The house is perfect for a family. In a quiet neighborhood but only a few minute walk to the beach. House is fully equipped with beach chairs, bikes, games and puzzles. Owners are clearly dog lovers which was a huge perk for us.

Wonderful quiet and secluded place close to the beach

We stayed in Aug 2023 with our family and dog. The house was exactly what we were looking for. House was well furnished, had plenty of amenities to keep us busy when we had down time. Walk to the beach was easy thanks to all of the nature trails. Everything about the vacation was great

Excellent place to unwind

Property was well maintained and had all the amenities to make a stay uncomplicated. There were many extras around that we weren't expecting and didn't have to use ex- toothbrushes, dog cage...ask Carrie, i bet what you need is around somewhere. 6 minute walk to the beach is thoroughly enjoyable. Saw a doe on the nature trail! Will definitely stay again.

Awesome Thanksgiving getaway

My brother met up with my husband and me (and our dogs) at this gorgeous, spacious house for the Thanksgiving weekend. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a full Thanksgiving meal, and they even put out the holiday placemats for us. The house had enough room for us to spread out, we were minutes from the beach (took us a second to figure out the way…nature trails wee a bit confounding), and ten minutes from the Duck town center for donuts and shopping. It was a fantastic, lazy, blustery beach filled weekend with 80’s movies on tv and good wine. Carri is a terrific host.

Fantastic Labor Day weekend!

We truly loved our stay and had the best weekend! The host was easy to communicate with and always prompt on responses. The check in process was a breeze. It is clear the hosts have gone above and beyond to make it feel like home. With toddlers we appreciated the child gates, toys and games. The bunk room and extra couch/tv on second story was perfect for the kids. The screened in porch was nice to sit in the evenings. There were also dog toys/beds etc for our furry friend. There was plenty of beach gear to include a wagon to pull stuff. All of this made it possible for us to enjoy our stay without worrying about all of the little details. We hope to go back!

Lovely, quiet place near the beach

Really happy with this location. In a very quiet cul de sac with trees that provided nice shade. Plenty of room in the house with nice sized bedrooms and open plan living/kitchen area. Kitchen was well stocked with necessities. Comfortable lounge area with large tv. Easy walk to the beach (once you know the shortcut) and I liked that it was near a more private beach so not as busy as nearby beaches in Kitty Hawk or Kill Devil Hills. The nearest beach access bridge was closed but easy enough to find the next one over. Only complaint is that a lot of the lights inside weren’t working either because bulbs missing or were burnt out. Also lots of cobwebs inside the house that could use some cleaning. Overall great place but slightly overpriced for what you get.

Left us a bit disappointed

This home is located in a wooded and very shaded location, which sounded nice online but in reality made the property very dark and covered in spiderwebs. We unfortunately had to sweep and wipe down all of the outdoor spaces when we arrived and then never even used them for any length of time due to the bugs and overall condition of the outdoor spaces. The home allows pets as well, which we were also excited about, however it seemed that there was a very strong animal urine odor through the first floor which was very unpleasant. We also had to vacuum animal hair from prior guests off of the furniture in the main living room to make it usable. The other negative was there were ants in the kitchen daily as well an occasional palmetto bug in the living room. The positives were that the owner was quick to respond to questions and the home was well stocked with items you don’t always remember or want to pack for a trip. The location of the property was also a short and easy walk to the beach. Not really walking distance to downtown Duck, especially with kids, but the bike ride in was about 3.5 miles and was not difficult. Overall although we enjoyed getting a feel for the northern beaches and the town of Duck during this trip we left feeling disappointed with the property and were unable to feel comfortable in the space 🙁

Great!

We have stayed at a few different properties in Duck and Southern Shores over the years. We started our search from scratch this year to mix things up. After an exhaustive process, we settled on this property, with slight hesitations bc we typically have a pool, hot tub, or both. Everything about this house - location, proximity to beach, cleanliness, etc - made us forget about our hesitations. While we love to have the option of a pool on hot days, the easy 4-5 minute walk to the beach actually was a God send as it led to us spending many more hours at the beach than in years past (with easy trips back to the house to grab refreshments, or the dog). We don't always bring our chocolate lab, but opted to do so this year, and she loved it. Beach so close to the house that we could bring her down for short periods during the day. And, the house doesn't seem like a pet "overused" house all all - no dog smell, everything very clean, furniture free of signs of dog wear and tear. Those of you who know Duck will see that the location is great - easy bike ride (bikes included) to local restaurants, super short drive to the town of Duck, and easy quick trip to Kitty Hawk (where we have a few favorite restaurants, and fishing pier - caught tons of fish). We stayed during a really hot week in August, so didn't use the decks as much as we planned - but, I bet 90% of the year, the decks are tough to resist. We were usually camped out at the beach all day, or just chilling in the family friendly great room. Happy we found this property and expect to be back for a Fall weekend if we can!

Overall, comfortable, spacious, charming beach home. Great large kitchen well-stocked for preparing meals with very nice added touches (e.g., chilled wine glasses). Large living and ding rooms for relaxing after a day at the beach. Comfortable beds, nice beach decor, and plenty of decks and screened-in porch. Peaceful neighborhood and a short walk from the beach. Wonderful beach stay.

Second time staying was as good as the first

We last stayed here 2 years ago and our return trip this year was just as good. The house is clean and well stocked. The location is the best part of the house. It is super quiet and away from the over crowded areas. Very easy walk to the beach.

The house is clean inside although couch and chairs in living room were not at all comfortable. Beds very comfortable! Outside needs a heavy duty pressure wash. All outside furniture covered with mold and mildew, couldn’t sit anywhere. Also, so many spiders, webs & nests all over the outside. We are all over 70 so should not have rented a place with so many steps, but that’s on me!

Wanted more time!

Loved this house and the neighborhood. The uniqueness of the coastal trees surrounding the houses was my favorite part. Great house, easy walk to the beach. All the things we needed in the kitchen, rooms, etc. was right there. Host was quick to respond to a question we had after checking in.

Best Beach Vacation Ever!

My husband and our two dogs spent a week at Carri’s lovely home! It was our best beach vacation ever! The weather was perfect, the house was perfect & the short walk to the beach was easy! The house had everything that we needed & the kitchen was well-stocked with everything I needed to cook for the week.
