An immaculately renovated 1895 Victorian home that was featured in a before and after on Country Living magazine's website. This house has a warm, cozy vibe with original hardwood floors, updated kitchen and bathrooms, tasteful furnishings and a giant back porch for catching the evening breeze. Enjoy the blend of old and new, such as exposed ship lap walls in the dining room and authentic molding throughout against the modern conveniences of a Bosch dishwasher and a Whirlpool washer and dryer. It's perfect for any type of getaway you need — a girls' weekend, a couple's getaway, or anyone interested in what it's really like to live right in the heart of a small Texas town.

Aside from its charm, it is 1/4 mile from all that downtown Waxahachie has to offer. You can meander down to the College Street Pub for a cold beer, live music, and tasty English fare. Or head to Farmluck for lunch and something sweet from their old fashioned soda fountain. Or grab a glass of wine at Cork Haus. If you want a taste of Dallas, head just 20 minutes north on 35 to the Bishop Arts District to eat modern Southern fair at Hattie's.

We had an awesome stay at this VRBO in Waxahachie! The house was super roomy for our family of five. The kids loved the playroom, and the big backyard was perfect for hanging out. The décor was so cute and totally fit the old Victorian vibe.The host was great, too. We had a little issue with the kitchen sink, and they came over the same day and fixed it! Very responsive and made the house feel like a home away from home. Honestly, 10/10. We’d definitely stay here again next time we’re in Waxahachie!

The house is amazing- eclectic, light and airy! The street is so sweet. Both are like going back in time. It is so close to the downtown square, restaurants and activities that you can walk without any worries. We have rented this home before and plan to do so again!

The home was very nostalgic. Old timey, feeling like a different time. Kitchen pans could use an upgrade. The pan coatings are damaged. Overall, the kitchen was well maintained. Great water pressure in the showers with a very nice bathtub. The home worked great for our 4-year-old and 10-month-old boys. May want to add a baby gate for the upstairs for young ones playing in the kids play area. We would stay here again. Very close to the downtown Waxahachie area, within walking distance.

Such a sweet home which made our stay so special. We loved the historic charm, comfort and cleanliness of the property. It is central to visiting Waxahachie and the surrounding areas! This property had everything we needed and more. The beds were very comfortable, it was impeccably clean, and the property itself is in such a pleasant area. The house has retained its historical charm, and we went for a nice walk each day, complete with neighborhood cats. Only a short walk to town, too. Our host was wonderful, very communicative, and it really was a wonderful experience. A plus that the kitchen has a gas stove and was well stocked with a large fridge and freezer. Consider bringing a large pot if cooking for many, but otherwise we did not need a thing. Thank you, Katherine!

This home nestled in historic Waxahachie was perfect for our family. Kiddo loved the playroom and exploring all the nooks and crannies! Walking distance to downtown and splash pad. Easy access to many area attractions (we took a day trip to Glen Rose and dinosaur valley). Host even provided sound machines in the bedrooms which were very much used as the train tracks are nearby! Highly recommend this home!

Unfortunately we only had two days to spend at this wonderful house. I would love to have stayed longer and will definitely consider staying here again. This is the second year my friends and I have stayed the weekend here for our annual Scarborough Fair trip. It has plenty of spaces to get ready, a great little kitchen to make ourselves meals, and a beautiful porch for hanging out. We can’t wait to come back again next year!

Cute and comfy little retreat!

We met friends here for a fun weekend in Waxahachie. The house was great - very clean, close to downtown. It has one bed/bath and a powder room downstairs; upstairs is another bedroom with two queen beds and a third bedroom with a queen bed. There is a second full bath upstairs. There are two separate sitting rooms, a full kitchen, and a sweet little library room. LOTS of great books to pull from if you need a book break!

I bought this house in 2009 while I was still living in New York. I was a magazine editor for many years, but I wanted to return to my Texas roots and the quiet of small town life. Waxahachie was ideal. Close to Dallas, as well as my hometown, which is just 45 minutes away, this charming neighborhood and town has allowed me to raise children in a wholesome environment close to family and friends.

This property was completely renovated in 2015. The hardwood floors were restored. Insulation was added, as well as new appliances.
