About this property

A Wilderness Retreat Cottage In The Mountains Of Western N. Carolina

A WILDERNESS RETREAT is located in Franklin North Carolina. Franklin is in Western North Carolina surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest.
Franklin is well known for it’s gem mining and it’s natural beauty of it’s surrounding misty mountains. Well located, Franklin is right over Georgia’s state line and about an hour’s drive from Tennessee. There are numerous trails and natural attractions in Western North Carolina.

We have recently updated our cottage. We have painted and refreshed through out, with new bathrooms, the kitchen has new quartz countertop and stainless steel appliances. The basement bedroom has been redone and we have added a/c splits, all to help make your stay as relaxing and comfortable as possible.

Our town has plenty to keep you busy. There are various festivals and special events, along with local activities throughout the year. Additionally, there are numerous surrounding towns with their own style and charm. If you just want to relax, sit on our porch watch our beautiful sunsets, enjoy our fire pit, hear the rustle of the leaves, and admire the view and the sweet fresh mountain air.

We hope you take in the beauty of Franklin and enjoy your stay in the beautiful Nantahala wilderness.

Peaceful and beautiful
We had a wonderful stay. We spent hours, almost every night, sitting on the deck watching lightning bugs and listening to crickets, frogs, and an occasional elk. It was just what I needed to unwind and relax. The cottage itself is roomy and beautifully furnished. We were especially impressed with the kitchen, with all the appliances, utensils, and dishes one might need to feed a large group. Our host Susana was very friendly, helpful, and responsive to any questions we had before and during our stay. I would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in the area!

Great cabin for a family of 5
We were very happy with our stay here. The owner was very communicative and check-in was a breeze. The cabin lists three bedrooms but we found that the den could also be used as a fourth and be shut away with the downstairs bathroom for someone that wanted more privacy. The cabin is also very close to town, which has a Walmart and a variety of good restaurants. The cabin was clean and stocked with the all of the basics. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would definitely book this cabin again.

We have a fun cottage in the woods just a couple of miles from the center of Franklin. We love the beautiful wilderness that surrounds our home and also the ability of going into town within a 5 min drive. Franklin has a lovely Greenway for taking a nice walk or bike ride by the river. The downtown area has cute shops with fun antiques and wonderful eateries.
