Located in the Mantell Plaza, a historic building built in 1942 by one of the country’s top Art Deco architects, this studio is just one block from the beach. Explore the Mantell Plaza’s lush, subtropical evergreen gardens, home to a variety of palm trees, orchids, and other exotic plants, or take a stroll over the nearby pedestrian bridge for quick access to the boardwalk and white sand beach. Stepping into the main living area you'll notice the tasteful simplicity of the space and the Native American-inspired decor. The Miccosukee Indians, who predate Columbus, migrated to this part of Florida. One of the condo's owners, Brenda Kosechequetah, is a Comanche Indian from the plains of Oklahoma. In proud recognition of her heritage and of all Native American's, the photo on the wall is of her grandparents, Wauqua and Todoessy. Cuddle up on the soft couch with a good book, or check out what's on cable on the flatscreen HDTV. Relaxation is everywhere as you settle into your Miami escape. Head downstairs to the gym for some exercise, or work on your tan at the large pool. You could also explore the neighborhood’s canals and historic architecture on a nice jog, or people watch while sunbathing on world famous South Beach, which is about a mile and a half south. Whip up a hearty lunch or fresh seafood dinner using the modern appliances in the compact kitchen. Outfitted with all the cookware and appliances you’ll need (though please note that there is no oven), the kitchen is ready for your culinary creations. When it’s time for bed we've got a beautiful QUEEN daybed with a thick queen memory foam mattress, and a single trundle bed that easily pulls out from underneath if needed for the second guest! Get the restful sleep you need for another full day of activities. Wake up refreshed and invigorated by the South Florida sunshine streaming through the studio’s picture window, then pull out your laptop and plan your day’s adventures using the WiFi. From sightseeing among Art Deco and Mediterranean Revival architecture to beautiful waterway views along the Collins Canal and Atlantic Ocean, the Collins Waterfront Architectural District offers plenty of options for vacationers of all ages. Head over the pedestrian bridge to rent a boat or take a charter trip with Beach Boat Rentals. Spend the day exploring the Atlantic coastline and bring a few fishing poles along to reel in amber jack, tarpon, dolphin fish, and many more species. You could even take a 10-mile trip crossing over Biscayne Bay to find great shopping, dining, and amazing nightlife in Miami.
