Having visited Antigua for the first time last year in May with my teenage son, we decided on a rainy September day to book flights to return as a family along with my son's best friend. Many months searching for the right property resulted in me booking Bluff House, followed by further months of anticipation.
As we knew the island, I knew what to expect with Half Moon Bay and the general lack of local amenities (e.g. supermarket) so we planned for this and made sure we stocked up at the supermarket in Saint John's. Car hire is essential and if you are looking for nightlife close by, this is not the place for you. If, however, you are looking to get away from it all, spend time together, marvel at the scenery in a truly private location, this could be just what you are looking for.
We had an amazing time, and Bluff House is clearly a place for making memories, evidenced by the many family pictures on the walls. This was obviously a cherished family home and I very much wish that I could still wake up to the sounds of the waves crashing, the crickets and tree frogs chirping and the pelicans diving, with a plop, for fish!
The kids loved it, beach and pool were amazing, and the games room on a rainy day was a dream!
The house is well-equipped and would ordinarily receive a 10 out of 10, but I have to be honest with the review. With such an exposed location, the house definitely needs some TLC to bring it up to the standard of the photos e.g. decking. It would then be a 10
