This beautifully renovated 1920s bungalow has a gorgeous open plan living area perfect for relaxing. The sunny deck is peaceful and private, a great place to enjoy a glass of local wine at the end of your day. The beautiful clawfoot bath in the second bathroom is a fantastic place to unwind and get away from it all.

Set in the heart of historic Riverhead, Riverhead Retreat is well positioned for an enjoyable stay. Only a short drive to Hallertau Brewery and various Kumeu wineries or a 250m walk to the Riverhead Tavern (and the Boat House wedding venue) means that you have plenty of options to explore during your stay. If you don't want to go anywhere the house is a beautiful setting to relax and unwind.

I booked this property to serve as accomodations for myself and my bridesmaids the night before my wedding and used as our get ready location the next morning etc and we were all so impressed with the property. It is even better in person than the photos and was absolutely perfect for getting ready activities. Such a beautiful light filled home that has been renovated tastefully while still keeping with the homes era (which i love having owned a similar villa myself). Location was fantastic being about 250m from our wedding venue also. Would 100% stay here again and recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Charming villa

From the time we arrived until the time we left it felt like home. The villa was exactly as advertised with everything we needed for our 5 night stay. The grandchildren loved the toys and books and the big back lawn to kick a ball around. The location was great -easy walking distance to restaurants or a few minutes drive away. The back deck was a fabulous space to hang out and relax

Amazing villa in Riverhead

Amazing renovated villa with open plan dining and living. The place was spotless with easy check in instructions and everything you need for your stay. We attended a wedding at the boathouse just down the road so the location was perfect for getting to and from. The claw tooth bath and beautiful backyard deck was awesome. Highly recommend.

Everything about this place met our expectations, and then some. Enjoyed our short walks to the Beekeepers Cafe and once to the little grocery store after dinner for milk. The large kitchen was full of light and well stocked. My family was very comfortable.

Beautiful Stay

What a beautiful house! Just loved the charm and style of the home. Very spacious and perfect for our busy boys (5yo & 2yo). We enjoyed this property for 4 nights while over from Australia attending a family wedding in Kumeū. Such a lovely area with lots to do as a family also. We would return. Louise was lovely and very prompt answering any questions.Thank you for a lovely stay!
