The Huron Hideaway sits in the tall pines, less than a block away from Lake Huron, just outside of Rogers City, Michigan. Our mid-century home is a sought after vacation rental. We have been in business for over a decade, and we always strive to ensure you have everything needed for an enjoyable stay. The house has high quality bedding and towels, a gas stove and oven, stainless steel cookware, and comfy relaxing spots inside and out. Great books, movies, and games. Record players upstairs and downstairs, with vinyl records. Perfect for relaxing and connecting with yourself and others. There is a maximum of six guests.
The Hideaway is located a half-block away from the sandy beaches of Lake Huron and directly across from Hoeft State Park. Indoors we have a game room - with ping pong and foosball - and outdoors is a custom-built fire pit, grill, hammock, and outside dining area.
In summer, hit the beach and swim, paddle, or sail on Lake Huron. Set out for a walk, bike, or run on miles of public trails, beaches, and paved paths just outside the door. Explore nearby shipwrecks and lighthouses. In the fall, enjoy leaf color and visit the nearby nationally acclaimed apple orchard and cidery. Come winter, access miles of cross country ski trails just across the street, or head to the other trails in the area, including Black Mountain. In spring, look for morels and enjoy crisp nights and warming days.
Dogs are welcome at The Hideaway. We know how important it is to have a safe vacation space for dogs. The backyard is enclosed with a fence, so your dog can enjoy off-leash outdoor vacation time in the backyard. We have dog food and water bowls for your use, along with eco-friendly pick-up bags.
Due to the location of the home, there is no cable television (although we do have two TVs with DVD players and a nice collection of movies), cell service is limited, and we do not have internet or wi-fi. Most of our guests welcome the tranquility that comes with not having cable or internet, and they appreciate the opportunity to connect with one another. We have a land line phone for your use.
Happy Travels!!

Loved the short walk to Lake Huron and fenced back yard. The house was spotless and unique- the Record player was fun and we watched some old movies Peaceful! Restful! Thank you!
Home is thoughtfully decorated and host has really placed thoughtful touches throughout the home. Home is very clean. Lots of fresh white towels and bedding. Backyard completely fenced, great for my 2 pups. Lake Huron 1/2 block from house.
This was my second time staying here because I enjoyed it so much the first time. It is a perfect place to stay with my dog. It is clean, walking distance to beach and has fenced in back yard. I hope to be able to go again next year.
We had a great time at this lovely home right by the lake shore! Everything was thoughtfully provided and we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend and would come back again!
This was the perfect getaway for our family! Our 2 toddler boys loved it, as did our basset. The property was clean, full of amenities and relaxing. Such a cute little hidden gem. The best cottage ive stayed at so far- we will be back!
We loved our stay at the Lake Huron Hideaway! There are nice accommodations and plenty to do at the house. It's adorable, cozy, and clean. And it's in a beautiful spot close to the lake!
Great location right by beach entrance and state park entrance! Plenty of room for my family of 4 and my Pup! Loved having the enclosed back yard and game room. House was super clean and had all the amenities we could think of, the host even went above and beyond and left some goodies for us, our dog and My son who was celebrating a birthday while we were there!
Absolutely enjoyed every aspect of the property wonderful details, ambience, and entertainment for this fam of four. Great space, so much to do in the area, could have stayed much longer.
A perfect cozy place for our weekend away and so close to the lake!! It was so peaceful.

About the host
Hosted by Monica
We, Steve and Monica, are both originally from Rogers City. We attended school together and were high school sweethearts. Over the course of the next 20+ years, we lived in cities all over the country, including New York and Chicago, and (at long last) married in 2014. We now reside in Northern Michigan with our three beloved rescue dogs and cherish our role as hosts for visitors from around the world. We hope you enjoy the Hideaway as much as we do!
Why they chose this property
The Hideaway property has been in Monica's family for decades. We renovated the house and added modern touches, while still maintaining the home's mid-century charm. We look forward to sharing the Hideaway and the unparalleled natural beauty of the area with our guests.
