About this property
George and Sally's Farmhouse
George and Sally's farmhouse is a beautifully restored original farmhouse. The Draughn family raised their 7 children in the early/mid 1900's. The original structure is now over 100 years old. Recently restored in 2015, this two bedroom 1 bath home is perfectly located in the countryside just outside of Mount Airy(Mayberry) and Dobson, NC. The farmhouse sits in the middle of a 120 acre farm with views of the blue ridge mountains in the distance. Three miles of walking trails take you to the banks of the Fisher River bordering the farm. Guests can enjoy fishing in the river or in the farm pond located across the road from the house. Come be our guest and enjoy the quiet peacefulness of the Carolina countryside.

This farmhouse is a charming place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. It holds over a century of history seated in the rolling countryside. The house is quaint but has all you need and more. The hosts are warm and friendly and very accommodating. Lovely getaway.
We loved our stay at the farmhouse. It was our first time to the area and it was conveniently located near everything we wanted to visit. It was spotless and so peaceful. We will be back!

Okay
Gas logs didn’t work and the propane grill was in terrible shape so we couldn’t cook our expensive steaks had to wait until our return home. T.V. was not very good either. Everything else was great. Very private and peaceful
My son and I had scheduled a fishing trip to Spruce Pine which was canceled due to Hurricane Helene.
I booked this semi last minute after reading all the great reviews and proximity to local rivers.
The houses Pefect. Clean with every appointment necessary for a full stay. We ate out both nights but the kitchen had everything one wood need to cook. Coffee maker, new fridge, excellent induction stove, toaster oven.
The deck has a gas grill and outdoor table. There is a washer and dryer. Streaming TV and Spectrum cable. Bathroom had more than enough towels and all other accoutrements one might use. There was enough parking for at least four vehicles.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
This was truly an old farmhouse! It was very quiet and tastefully decorated! Will definitely stay again as it was centrally located to all of our planned activities!
We had such a great time staying in this beautiful farmhouse. It retains all the feel and charm of a 100+ year old home while having all the modern comforts one would want when traveling. The pictures don’t do justice to how gorgeous the property is. The home had everything we needed except for groceries. The host was great to work with and we would definitely stay again.
Quiet, great for setting on the porch in the morning and evening! Central location and short drive to wineries and towns. Don’t forget to visit Pilot Mountain State Park—beautiful!
We have stayed in a number of properties over the last two years or so and this was by far our favorite! The house was clean, comfortable, and honestly felt like a warm hug. Both my husband and I felt like we were coming home to “grandma’s house”. The owners thought of many nice extras-from coffee and half and half in the fridge to shampoo and body wash in the shower.
The property has Mountain views and lush green hills from the side porch. A very quiet and relaxing stay.
This is the second year we have stayed at The Farm. Its so cozy and inviting.
Close to Mount Airy and Elkin.
The owners are wonderful! Got to meet them on this visit.
Property was exactly as stated. One of the best properties we have stayed at. Very well stocked, bed was comfortable. Only thing you need to take is yourself. Would stay here again if back in the area. Katie came by one evening to make sure we had everything.
This quiet country farmhouse was the best thing about our trip. It is 5 stars and more. The beauty of the countryside made relaxing on the porch even more enjoyable. The home was spotless and comfortable. Any questions we had were answered in no time at all. I will definitely recommend this property.
This property had every thing we needed it was quiet, had a great view, and was conveniently located near Mt. Airy. The property was well keep and my entire family enjoyed the stay. Meet Mrs. Vaughn yesterday and she was very friendly. If we are in the area again would love to stay here again.
This home is FABULOUS! The location is ideal for visiting the many wineries in the area, as well as Mt. Airy. The house was very clean and well-stocked. Beds were super comfortable. The front porch and overall setting of this property is relaxing and inviting! We will definitely stay here again!
We spent a week at the farmhouse for a chance to rest and get some fishing in during a break in a busy summer. It was very comfortable and well furnished. The hosts gave us guidance on fishing in the area. The view of the Blue Ridge from the yard was lovely. We hope to return!
My Dad & I stayed here twice for a Fly Fishing weekend and loved it each time! Very cozy, clean & comfortable and convenient to the The Mitchel River, the Fisher River & the Roaring River at Stone Mountain. This little farm house is also close to great places to eat like the Depot and the Harvest Grill at Shelton Vineyards as well as Food Lion for groceries.
We usually eat out one night and cook out on the gas grill outside on the deck overlooking the farm and the mountains beyond. Very beautiful place.
Just what we needed. Peaceful and very clean. It was like I never left home. It is within only 10 to 15 minutes of Mayberry(lol) Shelton winery and Vinyard was amazing. I would stay again. Also more than enough of clothes for bathing. Thank you for letting us enjoy your farmhouse.
