Our house was built in the Frog Hollow neighborhood of Cape May by Jeremiah Mecray in 1907 and has been owned by our family since 1968. Recent upgrades include the outside patio, kitchen, 2nd & 3rd floor bathrooms, AC/heat units, washer/dryer, freshly painted rooms and exterior, new carpets, and rebuilt outside shower with changing area.
This restful, comfortable apartment has four bedrooms, two on the 2nd floor and two on the 3rd floor that sleep up to eight guests, two full baths, complete kitchen/dining room, living room with flat screen smart TV, DVD/VCR and free WiFi. A charcoal grill is available to use in the yard with our patio and seating. We have clotheslines to hang your beach towels and parking in the driveway for one vehicle, or free parking on the street. Why they chose this property
We purchased this property to allow our family to come and vacation in Cape May. Over the years family and friends have gathered to enjoy visiting with each other in beautiful Cape May.
We have discovered some of the history of the house. The house was built by Jeremiah E. and Rachel Mecray in 1907. Jeremiah owned and sub-divided the entire block which is bordered by Benton Avenue, Franklin Street, Sewell Avenue and Jefferson Street.
The entire parcel of land cost $4250 in the early 1900s! This house seems to be one of the first that was built on the block. As you travel around the block you may notice several that have a similar style of architecture.
