About this property
Huckleberry Hideaway: Authentic Cabin Adventure, steps away from Payette Lake
Adventure awaits you at this classic McCall “knotty pine” cabin - a short stroll to Payette Lake and located on a quiet wooded lane. If you are looking to boat, sunbath, hike, bike, ATV, ski, snowmobile, snowshoe or soak in a hot spring, you will be within minutes of it all!
In the summer months, wake up, grab your coffee, book and maybe a fishing pole and enjoy the sunrise at pristine “Picnic Point” beach, a 3 minute walk that overlooks the spectacular McCall mountain surroundings. For those more active vacationers, grab one of our two kayaks and paddle or fish along Payette Lake’s edge or pedal to downtown McCall . The cabin is also just two blocks from a very nice greenbelt for walking, running or riding on. It's generally in the 50s and low 60s at night in the summer and there are screens to let the cool McCall night air in. Both the main house and bunk house have A/C as well.
In the winter, it’s a 5 minute ride into McCall with its’ many winter activities, or, 15 minutes to the amazing powder skiing at Brundage Mountain ski area and just 25 minutes to Idaho’s newest Tamarack resort. McCall gets lots of snow so don't forget to bring your 4 wheel drive AND chains. If snowmobiling is your thing, there is a snowmobile public parking area and trailhead called "Green Gate" a few hundred yards from our front door. Also, explore the beautiful winter surroundings with your kids in tow with the new toddler sled we provide. The main house has a thermostatically controlled gas fireplace/heater, as well as, 2 programmable floor heaters and baseboard heat. The bunk house has a programmable floor heater and baseboard heat. All very effective in keeping things very cozy.
There are two small bedrooms on the top level of the home; one with a queen-size bed, the other with two 80" long super comfy 12" thick foam twin beds. The main level has a large leather couch. For privacy, comfy naps or the kids to hide out in, the 2nd separate bunkhouse has a large leather couch on the lower level and a full size memory foam bed on the 2nd level loft.
The fully-equipped kitchen is stocked with all the pots and pans, dinnerware for 8, and cooking utensils you will need to prepare meals. There is a six-person dining table with three extra stools at the breakfast bar. Cabin and bunkhouse are approximately 900 sq. ft. combined.
Relax and snuggle into the large sofa in the large common area and enjoy the large 50” flat screen TV and high speed internet. The bunk house also has a flat screen TV too! There is also a large rear deck with a BBQ grill, 8 person picnic table and the peaceful solace of the McCall pines to enjoy on our large private lot.
There's also lots of parking for your cars, toys and a trailer.
If dining out is your thing, taste the local fare at 'downtown' restaurants that provide just about anything you might want from fish, steak, sushi, pizza, Mexican, Italian and more, and most, with that uniquely McCall “step into the past” vibe.
You are close to all the popular activities in the McCall area: Fishing and boating on the Payette River and Lake, golfing, hiking in Ponderosa State Park and surrounding national forests, skiing at Brundage Mountain or Tamarack, mountain biking, shopping, dining, brewery-hopping, horseback riding, and much more!
McCall is just 95 miles from Boise at the end of a gorgeous mountain drive along the Payette river rapids. Don’t wait, come enjoy the Huckleberry HideAway experience now!

About the host
Hosted by Kim Roth
Jeff is from Pennsylvania and Kim grew up in Southern California. We met in the Air Force and have been married since 1984. We have loved Idaho ever since we moved here in 1993. We have two grown daughters, Lana and Candice. Candice is studying to be a nurse and Lana loves Idaho so much she started her own Idaho native apparel company called Banana-Ink.com.
Why they chose this property
We enjoy all types of water sports! We love sailing our HobieCat kayak in Payette Lake. Kim is a certified scuba diver and in the summer it's hard to get her out of the water. We were so happy to find a cabin so close to everything! It's so peaceful amongst the cathedral of pines.
What makes this property unique
We chose this cabin because it's so unique with it's spiral staircase and separate bunkhouse. It's an authentic, cozy cabin experience.
